Avatar n tn Does she still have help, therapy? I would advise her to talk to them, they can help her with losing weight healthy and/or the worrying about it.
Avatar f tn t eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight. Though technically, part of the clinical diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa is losing 15 percent or more of what your normal body weight should be, you do not need to be super thin in order to have an eating disorder. Most of what an eating disorder, such as Anorexia, consists of is the emotional/mental aspect..

869670 tn?1239964618 I was so happy at the time where I thought I was my heaviest (which was a whopping 110 lbs. Big deal, huh?) I thought that losing weight after someone made a comment about me being a little chubby would make me happier. But losing weight didn't make me happy. It's making me miserable. I don't want to go through this anymore. I just need a release.

Avatar f tn I suffered from anorexia for a few years. Now binge eating. Don't ask me how I did that. But anyway don't get yourself into the disease. It robbed me of at least 4 years of my life that ill never get back. Don't waste time. Obsessing over food and losing weight is silly to be honest. Skin and bones are not attractive. Conult a therapist and nutrionist to get it worked out before it becomes a bigger problem. The best advice I heard was get a life.
Avatar m tn If you have already reached then then you should work owards maintaining it and not losing weight further. Too fast weight loss can cause rebound weight gain. Also, it can cause other problems such as loose skin, flabs at unwanted places etc. Apart from losing weight, you need to tone up the body. A combination of aerobic, strength training and stretches works best. Many people find it difficult to fit an exercise regimen into their lives.
20893793 tn?1580909977 Doing so usually results in short-term loss but not keeping it off. Losing weight slowly but steadily by permanently altering your diet for the better and increasing your output of energy works long-term. I doubt oolong tea will do a lot for you. While it does contain caffeine, tea also contains balancing relaxants, which is why drinking it generally doesn't affect people the way unbalanced coffee does.
1564404 tn?1295154236 Sometimes your body plateaus when its time to stop losing weight. I woudl also see someone like a therapist and find out what the back issue is that you have a problem with your body and food. Good Luck!
Avatar m tn She has lost an extreme amount of weight. A couple of years ago when this all began, she was losing weight quickly and couldn't eat anything unless it was pureed. Without going into all the details, she presented all the signs of anorexia and still does. She's been in and out of the hospital many times and near death. She and her family continue to tell everyone that it's LD.
Avatar n tn d suggest that you first get a counselor to help with body image issues, then try some yoga or tai chi to help tone your muscles, rather than losing weight. That will help with the body image issues, also. It's not healthy to be too thin and it's not attractive.

Avatar f tn For the past month I have been throwing up after breakfast and dinner. On purpose. It has become a habit and I can't stop, I am losing weight but I have never eaten large amounts like binge eating. I eat so I can't be anorexic and I don't binge eat so I can't be bulimic. Is this a disorder?
18663 tn?1198171815 Hi Thanks so much for taking my question. While I don't know for sure, I suspect my girlfriend has anorexia. She has been dropping a lot of weight, but says it's because she's too fat. Right now she is 5'4" and weighs about 92 pounds and she looks like ****!. She thinks she's FAT! Everytime we go out for dinner she only eats a few bites and then has to go to the ladies room.
1050362 tn?1253918483 By that point my whole life was down to obsession about food and weight and I stopped caring about losing weight but only making the craziness stop! I have now been in recovery for 15 years and am still amazed at how free I feel. I strongly encourage you to get help, because otherwise it won't get better. Talk to your family doctor, or look for a referral to a therapist who is experienced with eating disorders. Eating disorders are about feelings and how we feel about ourselves.
Avatar f tn Wow - what's all the "gloom and doom" over a bit of tummy bulge? I certainly can't see ballet as the only means of reducing tummy fat; nor would liposuction necessarily be called for. Are you making sure you are eating the right types of food? Don't forget that "good" fats are necessary to a healthy diet and can can help reduce tummy bulge. In addition, maybe you could try yoga for exercise a couple days a week.
Avatar f tn I have suffered from anorexia and bulimia for 12 years now. I am currently at an over weight weight but started losing massive amounts right before I found out I was pregnant. Same thing happened with my daughter. Its going to be hard. I'm not going to lie to you but don't deprive yourself. Remember, restricting yourself is restricting the baby. talk to your doctor and see a psychologist that specializes in eating disorders and try to do some yoga and writing therapy.
5613711 tn?1370974671 Also, if you have normal weight for height/waist and age, then probably you are getting enough. You may be losing weight due to over exercising. However, if your friends do notice and feel you have eating issues, then it is best to consult a doctor dealing with eating disorders and find out if you really have a problem. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
1127564 tn?1262544756 t need to lose weight. I copied a small section of a height/weight that pertains to you - as follows: Height Small Frame Medium Frame Large Frame 5'3" 111-124 121-135 131-147 The photo in your other post doesn't look like you have a particularly small frame, but even if you do, you'd still be a proper weight.
1158511 tn?1262554942 At 5'4" and 87.4 pounds, your body weight would qualify for anorexia. Low body weight is one of the criteria for anorexia. By visiting the bella vita website you could take our free eating disorder survey and also read more about anorexia to help you understand more.
1030383 tn?1338460785 I have a history of anorexia, but it's 90% in the past (I think I'll always have tendencies). I also have Hep C. Lately nothing tastes good, I don't want to eat - I've been losing so much weight that I have to belt my skinniest pants. I'm pretty sure this is mostly due to the Hep C, but I can't help "sort of, kind of" enjoying it...
Avatar n tn From anorexia to bulima the bast 5 years my head is spinning from gaining and losing 20kg each way. I'm eating soo much and binge all the time. I try to get help, i'm seeing a psychologist but can only afford 2 times a month and isn't helping because sometimes goes to once a month. I'm a dissapointment and trying so hard to get back on track.
Avatar f tn why is my 16 year old nirce losing 10 lbs per week and has only an appetite for gatorade? She is 6'2" an weighs 130 pounds.
Avatar m tn If your physician agrees you have an unhealth relationship with food, they may suggest the next step for help. Denial of a problem or fear of gaining weight keep many from seeking help but left alone, Anorexia can cause great damage. If it is determined you do have an eating disorder, I encourage you to stick with treatment that might include psychotherapy, medication, nutritional counseling, etc.
Avatar f tn m scared i might become anorexic, But whenever i eat i get depressed, i need help please help me, before things get outta hand ];
