t know anything about Portia. I had no idea she suffered from anorexia nervosa. I assumed she had anorexia - eating disorder from any cause - and that is why I assumed the anorexia resulted from her cirrhosis. Now, that I have read the gossip/Oprah stuff I lean more towards Willy's opinion.

I want to go on reductil to lose weight as am over weight and getting very depressed about it. Could anyone tell me what the side effects are and is anxiousness one of them? Also i am taking the anti-depressant cipralex (escitalopram) do you know if it is ok to take them together. Please reply if you know anything i am rather desperate to start taking reductil so i can lose weight and start living again!

I am about to start taking kelp pills, and was wondering what the risk or dangers would be to me. And are there any side effects to just taking them on thier own? I am just considering the dangers before i proceed with the pills. Any advice would be brilliant and much appreciated. Thanks.

I live in Japan, and it is hard for me to get certain health care or prescriptions. My mother sends me my old prescriptions from the states, I am currently taking minocycline and budeprion xl, and last year, I had a kidney infection due to serious dehydration from anorexia. I've recovered from anorexia and have not had kidney problems since, but recently, I've had serious insomnia and anxiety/fear due to the idea that I may get that kidney infection again.

Enrofloxacin (Baytril?) -is very likely to affect appetite as its side effects include anorexia, nausea, maybe vomiting, and sometimes diarrhea. I wonder if it is wise to give the Rehmannia8 as well as the Enrofloxacin?? Who has prescribed the Chinese herb? The vet, or a veterinary herbalist? So many herbs are contra-indicated when there is other (allopathic) treatment going on. Herbs can clash with prescription medicines. A qualified veterinary practitioner would be aware of such things.

Hi and welcome, Unfortunately eating disorders such as anorexia effects the entire body, including the brain and nervous systems. What you are experiencing could be due to your anorexia, as it can cause peripheral neuropathy, vitamin B12 deficientcy etc so it would be worth discussing this with your doctor. Cheers..........

Yes...blood and rays were done one week ago ..all negative . We have tried all foods... chicken. .tuna...roast beef...even canned from the vet; nothing. Under side effects Baytril says "anorexia" side effects . Just need to find that one ingredient to get here turned.

I constantly think about myself and my own eating habits. And literally, no one else. I just want help. The side effects it has had on my body are not worth wanting to look skinny. Some days are good for me and I'll eat around 1800 calories, then I'll have a string of bad days and limit my intake again. I truly believe that I need professional help. Maybe you should do the same. Because I've proven to myself that I can't get over this alone.
