anorexia chat rooms

As u can see I'm new 2 posting comments on chat rooms but I've been placed on Diability recently so I feel alittle useless & quite frankly, just plain lonely.

My question is has anyone ever considered going to the yahoo messenger chat rooms and setting up a user room in the user created rooms just for us to chat instantaneously. I would do so, but don't want to step on toes or slow any traffic down here to this site for Medhelp. I have only 100% respect for these folks for starting and maintaining a site with this magnitude of information. The only thing I would change here is I would have joined much sooner...

Chat rooms are often split up into catagories, or multiple rooms. I belong to Forums that have chat rooms, and chat is like the wild west. Anything goes, it's instantaneous, and trying to enforce any rules is difficult. It requires staff to be present every second or offenses are off the page in two minutes. I really like this site, and changes won't drive me away, but I think chat would be a big headache for you folks.

A live community chat room (or rooms)? I notice a lot of people are online at the same time in various forums (and answering questions at the same time) and it might be nice to have a chat room for LIVE/real-time discussions. You could start off with a few generic chat rooms and see how that goes - perhaps pregnancy/maternal, mental health, general medical, social etc.

I use my phone primarily to get on here, but does the desktop version have a live chat for each forum? And if not, why? It's not hard for a site to get chat rooms hosted and sometimes it'd just be nice to talk and joke around with people currently logged in!

Hi I was just thinking how much I get out of this forum as a anxiety sufferer, but just wondered if anyone that is in charge of the anxiety forum would think it was a good idia to have a chat room so we could all have a chat on line, I dont know if this would be possible but just a thought. Janis.

I would also suggest going to www.childrenwithdiabetes.org this website has online chat rooms, for parents, teens, kids etc. I have found it very helpful threw the years and my daughter has found some e great diabetes friends this ways. There is also a link on that web site to post your5 own story and page this would be great for your friend. Women who have had trouble trying to conceive or have miscarried etc use online chat rooms to discuss tests, ovulation etc. It's there that a lot of the abbreviations come up. I recognise quite a few but not all.

I know that it can take over Your mind and it can make You feel horrible and it is difficult. I have been in hospital with Anorexia in the past for Five months and it was a horrible time, I had no control at all and was sedated if I tried removing the tube. It is so much easier to fight this and eat on your own than to feel powerless altogether. The thoughts might leave and might not but you can fight this and can be strong.

Does anyone know of a live chat room for people going through Detox. I saw the NA chat rooms, but I'm not quite there yet. I know it has great value, but I would like to be able to actually speak my mind on what ive been using and helpful people in that stage. Day 1 of 70mg/day of Hydrocodone withdrawal here. this forum does not show everyone logged into "the room" like regular chat rooms. it shows recent activity but not everyone that is on. the community members section is random whether they are logged in or not. i really do not know the purpose of that. good idea though. the community members should be those logged in and active.

OMG I know what you mean about the youngsters. I enjoy visiting a game site that has chat and some of the rooms I have to leave due to the 'raunchiness', lol. That is one of the pitfalls of having a chatroom. I know what you are saying about getting better aquainted with members. We do have the private messaging (like email) available. I have been and seen the ward, rooms, met the girls from day patient work...but dont want to lose control. I am panicing so much just now, and while inside me somewhere I know I NEED this but do not know if I WANT this...in fact i know I dont! It is ironic really that in order to be set free from the clutched of anorexia, I must first be locked up... I dont know what to do...Help...

you've made 5 posts about chat rooms...this is not a social forum with chat. there are several sites out there that will meet your criteria. Janis & Friends and HEP Central are 2 very good choices.

MSN has groups and they are free and very easy to set up, and have different pages, for chat rooms, pictures pages, calendars, etc. Who would want to moderate though? It takes a lot of time.
