Avatar m tn There are many causes like worms in stool, depression, anorexia nervosa, AIDS, cancers especially colon cancers, drug abuse, infections and loss of appetite. Loss of appetite can again be due to certain medications, drug abuse, depression, AIDS, acute and chronic infections, cancers and hypothyroidism. Either you do not eat well or there is increased metabolism as in hyperthyroid states, HIV, cancer etc.
Avatar f tn I’ve suffered 2 seizures within the last 2 months at the age of 38, no previous history. Undergoing test at the moment. Doctor said sounds like I have epilepsy. Is is normal to develop suddenly at this age? No family history. I did suffer from anorexia in my early 20’s, my periods stoped for over 8 months. No trigger for my seizures but both times happened as soon as period ended. I’m on the pill.
Avatar n tn She does grind her teeth at night and wears a guard in her mouth while she sleeps to help prevent head/jaw aches from the grinding at night. Can the seizures/migraines be linked to anorexia or past history of anorexia?
Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
Avatar f tn It states that if you take wellbutrin with this history that you are at high risk for seizures. Again, my doc knows this and pushed this med on me b/c of severe depression due to chronic pain and going off my pain meds (my choice). Has anyone heard of this, or heard of anyone having seizures from this history? I also take Klonopin 2mgs a day, sleeping meds, blood pressure meds, muscle relaxers etc. Doc knows all of this. I am working with her until I can get a pain mgt doc.
918035 tn?1274644533 You have many symptoms of anorexia. Anorexia is not about the food, it's about underlying issues that causes a person to go away from food. I will advise you to speak to an adult. Hopefully, you could talk to your mom or dad. You need to get some professional help and support. You need to see a medical doctor just to check on your overall medical condition and growth.
Avatar n tn She suffers from mild epilepsy (absence seizures only) however the seizures are now being controlled by 2 different drugs (Epilim and Zarontin). She has a stutter and she suffered a bit from anxiety when she was younger. She is a dancer so is very active, and she is in Year 12 so under quite a bit of stress with school work. The symptoms are not severe and also quite vague but I know that something just isn't "right" - any ideas what it could be?

Avatar f tn If there is more hair loss than this, the first cause we look at is diet. It has been long known that anorexia causes hair loss. Your 400 calories on alternate days is flirting with an anorexia-like diet and is most likely stressing your body. Rather than cut your long locks, look to have a balanced diet each and every day. Good luck.

Avatar m tn I would ask for an alternative medicine. Topamax causes hair loss which I have experienced first hand. I found out that that is one of the main side effects and wish I hadn't taken it. I would look on the internet for medications that treat migraines and look at all of the side effects. I have found I have to be proactive and do my research and ask the doctor about a specific medication.
