The clinic I am thinking of going to offers free anonymous testing but a 10 dollar charge for confidential testing on their website. Should I go somewhere else? If it's an anonymous test, how do you even get your results back? I imagine the CDC would have no knowledge of how many people are infected with HIV in the u.s., if everyone went the anonymous route.

You did not have a risk from receiving a blowjob nor do you need to test.

However, if you go to a clinic, and get tested, they have to adhere to the same confidentiality laws that your regular doc does.
Some places won't push it if you refuse to give some info, others will.
Its really important that you get tested, and that if you have anything, that you tell your wife, as she could have it to, and you'd just end up re-infected.

I intend to have an anonymous HIV/Chlamydia test done in about 3 weeks, but being in a foreign country, I am unsure if they are able to treat the latter (or other STDs in general) with the same proficiency that a US doctor could provide. We need to make a distinction between an anonymous test and a confidential test. In anonymous testing the test is done but no one knows who you are or how to get the test results to you. This used to be done with HIV testing but the experience was that many people who got tested did not get their test results with this approach. In contrast, with confidential test results.
It's sound like depression in which you should take to a doctor. Just because you have a simingly good life does not mean you cannot have depression. It can happen to an one at anytime. There is no one type of person that has depression. But you may want to talk to your doctor about it. Good luck!

I suggest you call the California AIDS hotline at 1-800-367-AIDS. They can direct you to an ANONYMOUS testing site. I think you should also ask them to direct you to one with counselling + rapid tests (not traditional test) because I don't want you to wait to obtain your results (seeing how nervous you are).
It is important that you go in for ANONYMOUS testing.
Little or no STD risk since the sex was protected. There was no point in urine testing -- gonorrhea and chlamydia can't infect the urethra via anal exposure. The chance of HSV from a single event like this is zero for practical purposes. And no HIV risk. So no need for further testing. But if you want 100% test reliability for HIV, you'll need either another oral fluids test at 3 months, or a DUO blood test at any time.
I just found out about 12 years ago my mate was unfaithful and i have gotten tested recently with an third generation eia antibody test hiv1/2 with reflexes, a rapid blood test, 4 oraquick home tests and all came back negative. But ive read ur post that some people with aids antibodies wont show on those tests. Im very scared that im in that stage and the tests i took arent sufficient enough to know for sure.

You should look into getting into your local alcoholics anonymous group. It is free, and you do not have to give your name or even speak if you dont want to, plus there is a policy in these groups that you do not discuss what is said in the group outside of the group. Besides that, there are natural and over the counter sleep aids that can help you sleep at night, without needing to drink. Best of luck to you!
