Avatar f tn ^^ ammonia free hair dye is safe : )
Avatar m tn I hope you cleaned the bottom of the closet well - in case some of the mold spores got on the floor. Wear a mask when you clean and use a good deal of clorox to kill the mold. For yourself, take Milk Thistle and a liver detox. This should help you get over the mold sickness. (Do not mix clorox and ammonia as they cause burned lungs and gas fumes!
Avatar f tn Watch windex if u clean the windows i read last week on the bottle that it has ammonia in it, idk if its safe to be around ammonia but i didnt wanna take the chance because of how strong it is so i bought some ammonia free!
Avatar f tn You can dye your hair as long as the dye is ammonia free, and I would also wait until you are officially out of the 1st trimester. The dye doesn't get into your blood stream so it's fine, just make sure you get ammonia free. I wondered this too so I did a lot of research, I just haven't gotten around to actually dying my hair yet.
7649706 tn?1396014742 s only the strong ammonia or bleach smell that can be bad for you and baby by you inhaling it. Wear a mask if bleaching. If not bleaching, get a hair color without ammonia. Simple.
Avatar f tn As long as you do it in a well ventilated room or even outdoors, it's fine. And either wear a face mask or use semi/demi permanent because it's ammonia free. I'm a cosmetology student and I just had a baby and am now 17 weeks with another.

Avatar f tn It is also possible that, if the concentration of ammonia is high enough, chlorine gas will form. If it starts to give off a strong odour and your eyes are burning, flush it and open a window or turn on the ventilation fan immediately, then get out of the room. Chlorine gas is highly toxic.
Avatar f tn I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.
Avatar m tn I use a CPAP machine, with a nasal mask setting is 15. I do believe it makes me sleep better. However it causes serious gas especially in the morning. I know others have reported this problem but have yet to see a good answer.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me yes at my last visit when I asked, just ammonia free and a well ventilated area...
Avatar f tn I am seventeen weeks pregnant and i was wondering if there was any safe way i could dye my hair? Will wearing a mask help with the fumes or should i just not do it for the sake of our baby??
Avatar f tn m a color specialist and it is Ok to color your hair. . You Can use ammonia free if you are scared about the ammonia but you can use normal color as well. Be In well ventilated area or you can wear a mask to cover your nose and mouth so you don't smell the fumes. . Especially If you get highlights. I have heard your hair might go funny colors due to hormones but all of the colors I have done on pregnant ladies turned out awesome. . So I guess it just effects people differently.
9171934 tn?1405180032 s safer to have someone else clean up after the kitties or wear a mask and gloves when doing so!
Avatar f tn Ok good to know, thank you so much :)
Avatar f tn Nothing with ammonia for sure, but most things are fine as long as the area is well ventilated. If it's not an open area, I'd use a fan or something to air it out while cleaning just to be safe.
Avatar n tn Urine has ammonia in it. Ammonia mixed with bleach makes a VERY toxic gas.
Avatar n tn I wouldn't do it if you're running outdoors simply because you don't need to so why bother? Run somewhere where there aren't a lot of people around and stay six feet away from everyone else. I do my outdoor exercise at night, when there are few out and so no problem.
Avatar n tn There is more than one variety, and a specialist is needed to determine the specific type. Generally ammonia will destroy this kind of mold. I know people recommend other liquids, but ammonia is the way to go. Before using the ammonia the room should be "dewatered" with use of one of more dehumidifiers. These molds like moist places.
Avatar n tn There is so little of the ingredients used to dye or bleach hair absorbed into the skin it is of no concern. The main concern is if the product used has ammonia in it as it might lead to fume inhalation which could make you sick. After the 2nd trimester it is considered safe to get your hair done. If you work as a cosmetologist you may need to wear a mask in the first trimester to avoid getting sick from fumes.
Avatar n tn If nothing else, the problem we have with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities alone would fall in this area. Ammonia and other cleaners can certainly cause health issues to those who are sensitive or work with these substances on a daily basis. A good idea would be to protect the skin and dawn a mask when using any type of chemical.
