Avatar f tn Well, I'm home from having had my CT Angiography of the brain and heart. Now, I just have to wait one week until I go back to the neuro to find out the results of it. The Neuro said my last MRI was the weirdest and unusual MRI of the brain that she had ever seen. The report said something about Vertebral Basilar Insufficiency and something about an enlarged vessel or something. My brainstem has moderate damage (Chronic Gliosis) and it didn't sound like it was damaged from the MS.
Avatar m tn There is hypokinesia (heart wall movement impairment) disorder of apex,IVS (Impairment is the wall (septum) that separates the left and right ventricular chambers and anterior wall due to a prior heart attack. This impairment reduces the heart's ability to pump normally. Normal is an ejection fraction (EF) 50 to 70%...amount of blood pumped with each heartbeat.

Avatar n tn It is useful to check the blood flow to the heart if any blocks in the arteries supplying the heart and blood pressure in the chambers of the heart. It is a safe and simple procedure. The dye is usually harmless, except in a very few patient’s who might experience a allergic reaction to it. Heaviness in the chest and discomfort should be evaluated thoroughly for cardiac causes especially if risk factors like hypertension, diabetes, smoking, obesity etc are present.

Avatar f tn Should I be concerned about a CT Scan that shows 30% blockage of arteries? I have a family history of heart disease on my mother's side of the family. Almost all of her brothers and sisters have had heart attacks and blockage. I would like to know if there is any other tests that I should have done at age 48?

Avatar m tn Was there any special reason why your cardiologist prescribed a cardiac MRI instead of say a heart catheterization with angiography? I am not sure which test would give the best and most accurate picture of the heart's arteries and occlusions or narrowings.
Avatar n tn Are you suffering from hypertension? High blood pressure is one of the causes of fluid in the lungs or pulmonary edema. It can be due to coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy or heart valve disease. A detailed examination by a physician/cardiologist and investigations like ECG, Echocardiography and angiography can confirm the diagnosis. Are you taking any antidiabetics or chemotherapy? It is also one of the causes of pulmonary edema.

Avatar f tn t seem to be major problem but they will do angiography test to find out whether there is any major blocks..after angiography the result was ,there is a problem in 3 vessels.I want to know in this case whether angioplasty or bypass surgery is better.doc said they will try to do angioplasty in 1 St vessel if it is sucess they will do angioplasty in other 2 vessels .If angioplasty in first vessel is a failure then they go for a immediate bypass surgery.. I don't know what to do ..
Avatar n tn Whichever one the doctor says is more in need. Why? Because age should not matter. Age does not make one person more or less valuable.
