Avatar n tn We did not do the angioplasty as we thought we would do it at another bigger hospital after clarifying the same with some other doctors or after a week or so as the doctor also said there was no urgency and it can be done in a week’s time. He reacted very adversely to the die and had problems with the kidney and lungs. The creatinine level increased to about 1.7. It took him about 2 weeks to get out of the situation and now has been advised another 2 weeks rest.
Avatar m tn Is it advisable to go for angiography check up as six years have passed post surgery? Are there any side effects after angiography? My physician has recommended Angiography check up as life of stent is normally 10 years .I shall be pleased to receive your recommendation and advise.
Avatar n tn Gadolinium is an element that is used in a number of manufacturing processes and also in dyes that are used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). Gadolinium is usually removed from the body by the kidneys. However, in people who have kidney problems have kidneys that do not function properly and gadolinium may stay longer. Therefore, the risks of toxicity from the Gadolinium are greater and may develop nephrogenic systemic fibrosis or NSF.
Avatar n tn when we took her to the hospital they said she had a mild heart attack and after performing the ECG they realised it is not the first one but rather the second one but the first one went unnoticeable ( they called it silent). Her cretanin level is very high and her kidney is 60% damaged, there is also water retention in her lungs, so they said that taking an angiogram test would be risky, as it will damage the kidney further.
Avatar f tn My Grandmother has been detected with a blockage in heart, and its not getting well by the use of medicines. Her Doctor is suggesting Angiography now. Her age is 81 by now. I wanted to take other Doctors opinion about this case.
Avatar f tn I'm not a doctor, so I don't have all of the answers, but I don't think they do either, so with that said, in my situation CHF was characterized with extreme swelling in my lower body, starting at liver level. If I cut myself anywhere below the liver, I didn't usually bleed, but the area simply weeped with a clear fluid, and took a very long time to heal. I noticed having great difficulty with walking, or standing, and my energy level was extremely low.
Avatar n tn Hi, The circumaortic left renal vein is a relatively common congenital anomaly, seen in abdominal CT scans, ultrasound, MRI or angiography. The condition is of clinical importance when renal surgery is contemplated or during collection of renal or adrenal venous samples. The normal left renal vein passes anterior to the aorta, to enter the inferior vena cava. Sometimes the left renal vein is duplicated, with both an anterior and posterior component.
Avatar f tn Cardiologist chedked both the heart and kidney and found nothing. I am also dealing with a blood clot behind my right eye. Right now I am getting shots every 6 wks, in the eye. cartoid duplex scan showed mild blockage in the neck and was told not to worry about this for now. Can all these things be related?
Avatar m tn , has suffered MPI suggestive of extensive ischemia in anterolateral and inferior wall, while fuctioning on a single kidney with mild chronic renal failure. The coronary angiography findings are the following: - LAD: extensive diffuse disease from the proximal segment to mid/distal. Maximal luminal stenosis of about 70% proximally.
Avatar n tn The treatment plan for CHF, is also mainly treating the underlying cause. BNP values if high also reflect CHF. Did you get kidney function tests done? It is evident from your history that fluid accumulation is present, and this in turn can happen due to kidney failure, heart failure, protein deficiency etc. Are your symptoms of the same intensity as it were before? If the intensity has decreased then correction of cause leading to CHF is under process.
Avatar n tn excessive bleeding at the site of the incision, infection at the incision site, allergic reaction to the contrast dye. Serious complications which are very rare occurrence include blood clots, stroke, kidney or blood vessel damage. It is best that you inform your doctor about this for proper evaluation. Additional diagnostic tests such as echocardiogram may be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn My dad had an heart attack on 14th Dec.His angiography and echo test results are as follows- Angiography LM - n LAD Type 3 [P]- proximal tubular 80-90% stenosis LGx- non dominant normal RCA - Dominant normal Echo- VEF= 25-30% no PE/veq/vsr Doctor has discharged my dad 2 days ago after giving medicines - beta blockers and lasilactone. He has requested for PET scan for viability check. Kindly let me know what can be understood from above test reports and how bad is his condition?
Avatar m tn Even if you are 17 years old, you need to get this investigated by proper TMT, ECHO, and maybe even angiography, and other tests like kidney and liver function, heart enzymes, etc. This is something you should not ignore. It can also be a hormonal thing causing poor exercise tolerance. Until this is sorted out, please avoid exercising. Do discuss this with your cardiologist and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar m tn Troponin T and Troponin I are accurate and are only released by cardiac muscle. If elevated, then they usually suggest angiography because there is a very high possibility that MI has occurred. Troponin also remains elevated for up to 14 days. Should you go for Angiography? Given the results of the test, I think the question is really "is it worth the risk not to have angiography".
Avatar n tn But she was moving fine, until 2 weeks back she had Angina attack and we got her Angiography done yesterday which revealed that her one of the artery is blocked over 90% near the beginning. Docs recommend her to go for Stent implant. Now seeing her past history of ASD,and low platelets count. Would you recommend to go for it or not? Any risks involved in that?
Avatar n tn On the basis of this cardiologist advised to get CT coronary angiography. The result of the CT coronary angiography as given below: 1.Eccentric calcific in the RCA and distal LAD causing mild (20-30%) luminal narrowing. 2. No evidence of hypo perfusion or perfusion defects in the resting first pass myocardial enhancement. Now our cardiologists has advised to get catheter angiography to rule out further. Please advise me what should me my course of action.
Avatar n tn He was undergone a Treadmill test, a few weeks ago and the Doctor observed borderline positive Treadmill Test and suggested an Angiography. He undergone Angiography a couple of days ago and the report said that the Right Coronary Artery is 100% blocked. According to the Cardiologist, who performed Angiography, the blockage is old. But, my father has no pain (Angina), no fatigue and other common symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease. He’s perfectly alright.
Avatar f tn This can cause pain and swelling in shin and ankles. Diagnosed by X-ray angiography and magnetic resonance imaging angiography (MRA). Another important condition causing this type of sensation is nerve compression. You may need tests like Nerve Conduction Velocity to find it out.
Avatar n tn An angiography will give the doctor a better look into what is going on inside of your heart and arteries. It is a tool used to diagnose, and give the doctor a picture of what needs to happen for your treatment. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Another question doctor which is better for diagnose flourascen angiography or OCT angiography ?
Avatar m tn According to the doctor they said he had cardiac arrest and his heart is temporarily stopped .. They did angiography too check that the stent is blocked or not but the result was totally fine !He was put suddenly to the Ventilation and was kept under observation around 3:30am doctor called me and told that his BP is too low around 45 and he cannot do urine through catherer and his kidney is not functional and that's why he need dialysis ....
Avatar n tn My uncle had gone for Angiography and had a severe reaction of the dye. He is currently unconsious for more than 120 hrs and in on ventilator support. Doctors are saying his kidneys are not working so they are performing hemodylasis to which there is very minimal improvement. What are the chances of such patient recovering and what sort of treatment is advisable in such situation? I would also like to know could the doctors have done something to prevent this situation?
