angiogram

Avatar f tn My partner is having an angiogram after suffering chest pains a few weeks ago. NAD was found at the time from blood tests and ECG (done over 18 hours). Was kept in overnight. Had no discomfort since, but suffers from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol which are all controlled and low due to medication. His chest pains were 4 weeks ago and he's had nothing since.
Avatar n tn I am 5 weeks post-op for a Jan. 27th vitrectomy to remove a macular pucker. My vision is much worse than ever, can't see the big "E" on the eye chart, and have a gray, opaque area in the center of my operated eye when I cover the other one. I did notice the gray area prior to the vitrectomy, after cataract removal on Nov. 11th. I can see no noticeable improvement in my vision during the 5 weeks, and it is really scaring me that the vision is so much worse..
Avatar m tn Ed, thanks for your insight and your information regarding your friend. Maybe it is hopeful thinking on my part that I will be able to play in 5 months. Once agin, I was told that I could play softball in 5 months; but it is possible that they may be patronizing me somewhat. I will have to wait as long as necessary and take the advice of my surgeon, cardiologist and physical therapist once I begin cardiac rehabilitation.
Avatar m tn Now Doctor has prescribed for Angiogram. He said he can suggest for treatment only after seeing the angiogram reports. Please help with your suggestion that whether we should go for angiogram. He is a diabetic patient since last 15 years and having high Blood pressure complaint since last 5 years.
Avatar f tn She is currently in the hospital with more blockages. They are performing the angiogram now. She is 73 yrs old and still pretty spunky. My question is, will she need surgery again? And if so, what are the odds of the surgery being successful and making a full recovery?
Avatar n tn It'll take you around 3 months to start feeling better. I was diagnosed with the same diagnosis 3 1/2 months ago and still occasionally experience chest discomfort. It comes on suddenly, usually after a stressfull situation and feels like a burning sensation in my upper chest area that sometimes spreads down my arms and up to my neck/jaw. My cardiologist did not even want to schedule a follow up echo until 3 months post initial diagnosis.
Avatar f tn I had an angiogram on 12/27/12. Since having my leg is hurting in the thigh area and in the groan area. Put ice on groan area and heating pad on thigh. Called hospital where procedure was done, said this is normal. When I walk I am limping. Really painful. IS THIS NORMAL. this is my first angiogram. Worried about clotting in the leg.
678571 tn?1228012270 I usually go to a cardiologist in another city. But my cardiologist could not perform my scheduled angiogram. My symptoms before this angiogram were chest pain with exertion of any kind. After this angiogram, I have had blood pressure problems, breathing problems, dry cough, shortness of breath and all the other symptoms that my cardiologist wanted me to do an angiogram for. He had said that if I needed an other stent put in. I would need a bypass even though I have small vessels.
Avatar f tn A question like this is so very good at starting a debate and a discussion which brings out the personal preferences in people. My personal opinion is that angiograms are great for treating emergencies and opening larger arteries which are occluded. However, there is a large proportion of people who still seem to suffer angina after having PCI treatment and this isn't a short term thing for recovery.
1145423 tn?1261404857 Hello DR i wanted to update you because you were helpful to me during a time i really needed it. The angiogram showed the anniw was larger than initially diagnosed, it is 1cm in the same location though. We are going to clip and surgery is scheduled for 28feb2010. Again I wanted thank you and if you had any questions for me I wanted to answer them if possible.
Avatar f tn My question is about recovery time. Those of you who know me know that I had a tumor removed and a total hysterectomy with "all-clear" for cancer two weeks ago tomorrow. You all have figured out I'm not a very patient person when it comes to myself, but, hey, it's been two weeks. The past couple of days I've been walking in the brisk Michigan air to get some color back in the cheeks(Darn Iron isn't working fast enough, either).
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, A bit of background...I have a 7-8cm cyst on my left ovary. CA125 of 10, ultrasound shows no sign of a malignancy, so they are not too concerned about that. Dr. I was seeing wasn't confident in doing a cyst this size laparoscopically so he referred me to another Dr who is apparently an "expert" in removing large cysts like this by "bagging" it and removing it that way through the tiny incision instead of having open surgery.
1570782 tn?1296689507 Hello and welcome! I havent had the surgery but have had the discussion with my NS about the expectation afterwards. I am awaiting a surgery date now. He said that it can take a long time and it is common to have up's and down's with recovery. So try to take it easy and give your body time to heal. It could take a long time as Selma said since we all heal differently.
Avatar m tn There is variance in recovery times. Some patients were back at work in five weeks others several months. Your current health status may put you in the several weeks category. For some insight, right after the surgery, you will be kept in ICU unit and closely monitored for around 24 hours to 48 hours. . If there are no complications, you will leave the ICU and be placed in a normal hospital room where you can recover.
Avatar f tn I had a vitrectomy to repair a macular hole 9 months ago and have been told that it is likely that i will develop a cataract. I have to go for a check up next week and i was wondering that if i do have a cataract how long is the recovery time,i am retired so i don't have to work ,but i do look after my 8 month old grandson while my daughter works. I have heard that you can't do any bending and lifting after a cataract operation, but not sure for how long.
