Androgel and dht

Common Questions and Answers about Androgel and dht

androgel

Besides counseling and surgery I am looking for a medical solution. Research has shown that topical testosterone can increase dht levels in the blood and possibly "enlarge" the male member when applied directly. I was wondering an official doctors opinion on this. One of my major concerns is that it would have the adverse effect and shrink my reproductive organs.
I believe that it will help my body produce its own testosterone and maybe I can taper off of the androgel in time. I'm concerned about being on androgel indefinitely because the body becomes dependant on it and stops making its own testosterone and the testicles shrink and I've read even the size of the penis does. Not good. Would there be any reason I shouldn't take DHEA along with androgel?
He has been receiving treatments of Synthroid and androgel. Unfortunately, as his TSH levels go up, his T levels are going down: DATE T TSH 12/20/2006 222 3.397 2/5/2007 182 n/a 5/12/2007 251 4.74 8/28/2007 240 4.139 12/10/2007 388 3.849 3/18/2007 273 3.909 6/16/2008 170 2.888 9/17/2008 n/a 2.382 He is now taking 112mcg of Synthroid daily along with androgel. His PSA came back negative. He does not have any ED symptoms, but his testicles have reduced in size.
He took me off androgel and wants to give me injections. When I went off the androgel I felt really bad and had night sweats for a week. Right now Im on nothing and have another appointment soon. I still have pressure at times and still hard to get and if I do, keep an erection. Sometimes it feels like there is nothing down there at all and you could probably hit it with a hammer and nothing. I havent tried it though.
So, you might consider cutting out any medicines that reduce dht (propecia or its equivalents), and taking a drink once a day, probably red wine because it has resveratrol and might help you live longer, and because alcohol + dht = lowered stress. Just don't overdo it.
High estrogen will lead to your penis retracting alot more and hanging alot smaller (getting erections will be more difficult). Free Testosterone and dht are the most important hormones for penile tissue sensation and flaccid penis size. dht controls the vascular blood flow and nerve function. dht is converted from testosterone via the liver and is considered 5 times more powerful than testosterone.
What dose is needed and how often? Can I use this alone and stop the androgel? Or should I use it in conjuction and add it in? 3) I have not seen any long term studies on test cyp shots which makes me apprehensive. Again, I don't prefer this route. 4) What is with the low prolactin level .. does this mean anything. Since my appointment with my endo, my PCP did some more blood work and I have not received the results. They did dht and Estradiol and rechecked Test and Free T.
I THINK UR A NOBODY. HCG SHOTS AND STEROIDS ARE NOT HARMFUL UNLESS YOU USE HIGH DOSES. AND WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT USING ISNT A VERY HIGH DOSE. 1500IU HCG IS A NORMAL DOSE. THE STUFF will NOT MESS YOU UP. ATHLETES AND BODYBUILDERS TAKE THIS STUFF ALL THE TIME AND THERE FINE. WHY DONT YOU DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND DO A LITTLE RESEARCH BEFORE YOU START TALKIN SH.T B...I...T...C....H....
How you get HRT is not as important as how well it works. I've done both androgel and Injections and they both work but they also both needed a number of labs and a sit downs with the doctor to talk over the results before the levels were adjusted so it worked. Re the 100mg Injections every two weeks? In my experience thats really really low. Ask your doctor to get you into range and quit trying to dial you up from zilch.
