Avatar m tn Now endo is suggesting that in order to give him more time to grow, we give him Anastrozole. I have seen lot of posts and spent hours on the forums wherever I found mention of advanced bone age/Anastrozole/Letrozole. It seems there are quite a few posts under Pediatric Endo forum but not able to find any answers if any parents tried Anastrozole/Letrozole and what has been their experience regarding delaying bone age and side effects.
Avatar f tn Is arimadex as good as tamoxifen in OVCA treatment? I was stage 3C after surgery in 05. I'm wondering about it's value in combination with taxol/avastin for recurrence. My med/onc is recommending it.
Avatar n tn I have been on Anastrozole for year, 4 more to go (5 ys.) I have the worse Joint pain, stiffness, hurts to walk, get up from chair, I get out of bed hurting, I ache everyday. My skin and stays so dry, my hair grew back after chemo, but is lifeless, thin, etc. I do not like this Pill and want to discontinue, but my Oncologist said it is doing me more good, to keep taking it. This pill is really aging me, dry wrinkly skin, no energy, cant walk and move like I want to.
Avatar m tn com/view/letrozole-maintenance-therapy-improves-rfs-in-ovarian-cancer- 2.5 mg is the typical dose used in studies. What side effects are you experiencing? And what does your prescribing physician/oncologist say?
Avatar f tn im on anastrozole.
Avatar f tn If you've had Hashimoto's for that long, have you also been on any replacement thyroid hormone medication? If so, what medication, dosage and for how long? Have you had Free T4 and Free T3 tested to determine actual thyroid hormone levels? If so, what are their results, with reference ranges? I've read that there's a connection between breast cancer and thyroid disease, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.
Avatar f tn I have been noticing his rapid development since birth. He has always been beyond the 97th percentile in the growth chart. Recent pead visit suggested me to do hormone growth and igf blood test. All shows within normal range. However, his bone age of left hand & wrist indicated that he is 13years and 6 months old. Is it alarming? What does it indicate?
Avatar f tn A problem is, testosterone varies a whole lot in both men and women, by the day, hour, week, etc. and even more in women than men, so the only true way to know if you had abnormally low levels would have been to test you a lot, not just twice. You did have the same levels twice, so it might be a problem. A question would be, how's your sexual desire? How's your stamina? How's your ability to build muscle? How's your energy levels?
Avatar f tn After being off anastrozole i had them check his testosterone. Igf-1 in range but high with z score 1.9. GH dose increased from 2.8 to 2.9 6 days per week. T was only 62. No bottom of range is given for 15 year olds although if I look at tanner 4 range he was under the low limit of 160. Free T is 9.9. Once he gets to 16 the ranges all say T should be above 160. He has confided in me that he has had no nocturnal emissions or spermarche.
Avatar f tn Dear river1980, Both Femara (letrozole) and Arimidex (anastrozole) are aromatase inhibitors used in the treatment of hormone receptor positive breast cancer in post menopausal women. Aromatase inhibitors block the enzyme aromatase (found in the body's muscle, skin, breast and fat), which is used to convert androgens (hormones produced by the adrenal glands) into estrogen. In the absence of estrogen, tumors dependent on this hormone for growth will shrink.
Avatar n tn I have had IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) for 35 years, but mostly very mild and not very problematic since I was in my 20s. Now, in the past few years, I have g.i. symptoms I hardly ever had before-- heartburn, acid reflux, pain in my small and large intestines, occasional nausea. Diagnostic tests have not revealed a reason for this. But recently I have been wondering--could the g.i. symptoms be a side effect of anastrozole (arimidex)?

17542556 tn?1457654206 The same goes for asking about a change to a different medication. These drugs MUST be given a chance as side effects may change in severity in time. Hang in there ..... give things a chance to improve. Take care .....
Avatar f tn Why are men so sly on there phones?? Dobt get me wrong I do trust my partner, but everytime I even so much go near his phones he panics like mad. Ive never doughted him really but I know if I was to ask him to let me on his phone out of curiosity he would rather split up with me and that makes me feel like he is hiding something!!
Avatar n tn Whatever you do make sure you do not try to hurt or kill him if he strikes at you because soo many women are thrown into prison just for defending themselves which outrages me. Be smart..use your head . If you havent already, get the police involved A.S.A.P.
Avatar m tn Has anyone heard of or know of any affects that tobacco use has on a person with Herpes? Does it cause prolonged outbreaks? or antibody suppresion? etc. Thanks and appreciate any information/knowledge!!!!!
Avatar n tn I am 63 and just diagnosed with Stage 1, ER/PR Positive, node negative invasive ductal carcinoma. My oncologist is in the process of deciding whether to prescribe Letrozole/Femara or Anastrozole/Arimidex. What considerations factor into which of these two drugs to use? Has anyone had experience with either of them? How serious are the side effects?
Avatar m tn I don't recall anyone posting regarding similar issues but I would advise you to NOT consider any treatments until you have seen the Endocrinoligist next month. It certainly seems to be hormone related and it could also indicate early menopause. Any type of hormone replacement therapy doesn't seem wise at this point .... My best advise would be to hang in there until the Endocrinology consult. Regards ....
Avatar f tn my husband has been hearing ringing sound in both his ears. he has been exposed to loud noises in his working place. is there any cure, beside avoiding loud noises which is impossible for him?
