Now endo is suggesting that in order to give him more time to grow, we give him Anastrozole. I have seen lot of posts and spent hours on the forums wherever I found mention of advanced bone age/Anastrozole/Letrozole. It seems there are quite a few posts under Pediatric Endo forum but not able to find any answers if any parents tried Anastrozole/Letrozole and what has been their experience regarding delaying bone age and side effects.
Have developed a heart rhythm disturbance, shortness of breath, edema of hands and legs/feet since being on Anastrozole. How worried should I be? Should I consider discontinuation discussions with my Dr.?

I have been on Anastrozole for year, 4 more to go (5 ys.) I have the worse Joint pain, stiffness, hurts to walk, get up from chair, I get out of bed hurting, I ache everyday. My skin and stays so dry, my hair grew back after chemo, but is lifeless, thin, etc. I do not like this Pill and want to discontinue, but my Oncologist said it is doing me more good, to keep taking it. This pill is really aging me, dry wrinkly skin, no energy, cant walk and move like I want to.

The oncologist switched me to Anastrozole but the Anastrozole failed. My mom passed away at the age of 97 from omentum cancer. We didn't know she had cancer until 2 months before she passed. It's a very slow growing cancer. We had no idea and had never heard of omentum cancer before but we were later told It's a metastasis from the ovaries. My recent telehealth appointment with Sloan-Kettering the oncologist suggested exemestane Hormone blocker. Wishing your mom the best.
If you've had Hashimoto's for that long, have you also been on any replacement thyroid hormone medication? If so, what medication, dosage and for how long?
Have you had Free T4 and Free T3 tested to determine actual thyroid hormone levels? If so, what are their results, with reference ranges?
I've read that there's a connection between breast cancer and thyroid disease, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.
Other than that, i want to discuss with you guys that there are already research for this disease. Im not quiet sure how to paste the link here. But the title of the research is “An exploratory study on "people allergic to me" syndrome based on measurement of trace gases released from skin surface and microbial species in nasal cavity of a patient”.
As of right now we are holding off on meds. He is growing but still just a little each year. He hasn’t hit a growth spurt yet but I’m hoping he does very soon. My son is 4’6” now and I worry so much that he is not going to reach anywhere near his mid parental height. How tall is your son? We have seen an endocrinologist who thinks anastrazole would be a good way for him to get closer to his potential, but I am so scared to put him onedicines just to gain a few inches.
My son is on GH for GHD. Also did 2.25 yrs anastrozole since bone age was slightly ahead. Now only on GH. Age 15.5, bone age 13.5-14. Has all the puberty markers for tanner 4: pubic hair now starting a line to navel. Has to shave a couple times per week but only few hairs in beard area, voice deeper but no prominent adams apple yet. A year ago at endo appt we were told he didnt have to endure anymore testicle size checks. I assume that means they are near adult in size.
is there a research group one could participate with, study and analyze past, present and future findidngs/options?
i have been outbreak free for years and am almost certain i recently had my first outbreak in january - and they won't stop.
i think the following has provoked the virus, as well as disable the latency stage:
a. i took a strong proton pump inhibitor in january for my gerd - within a week i had a broken tail bone and rash of blisters across the bottom of my back.

From my research it looks like you shouldn't get a spray tan due to the chemicals you ingest during the spraying and absorb through you're skin. I am waiting to start again until the baby is born.

The "new plastic smell" or "new car smell" are topics that are being currently studied for the possible health effects that may be associated with the volatile organic chemicals that "leach" out of many types of consumer products. Another classic example of pungent odors from new consumer products is a new shower curtain.
There are over a hundred articles on just one of these classes of chemicals: phthalates.
For the past 2 years I have been smelling heavy chemicals on certain people. It's a combination of mothballs, turpentine, and bleach smells - and so far I only smell it on my 11 year old son (even right after he's taken a shower!) and a co-worker (a very active/healthy man). No one else can smell it and but is so overpowering for me that I have to walk away and remove myself from the area.
I would do some research in this area if I were you. OK...sorry... I know you are right now by asking this question, but I would google the words cancer and hand sanitizer if I were you and see what you get.
More and more chemicals are coming into our life, that is for sure. Years ago my friend lost her husband (at age 38) and they attributed the illness he got to the fact that he'd worked with paints his whole life (lead paint at the time, too).....
