Have developed a heart rhythm disturbance, shortness of breath, edema of hands and legs/feet since being on Anastrozole. How worried should I be? I am 75 but always had lots energy before cancer treatments (lumpectomy, chemo, radiation and now Anastrozole for 5 yrs). What can I do to combat all these bad side effects while taking Anastrozole for 4 more years??????? Are there other women going thru these, same side effects with Anastrozole etc.? How do you cope? Please give me some feedback on this........

Cancer recurred in 2019. Had the cancer removed. Did 5 rounds of chemo taxol and carbo. Put on anastrozole. Gave me symptoms. I am now on letrozole. Also experiencing symptoms. Will letrozole keep this cancer away. Is there a smaller does than 2.5 of letrozole that I can take.

Is TSH the only thyroid related test that was performed? Your doctor should have done Free T4 and Free T3 also. Those are the actual thyroid hormones and would give a better idea of actual thyroid function. TSH is a pituitary hormone and is not always indicative of thyroid function since it can be affected by a number of variables. Insist on having Free T4 and Free T3 tested, then you can go from there. Are you having symptoms of hypothyroidism? If so, what symptoms are you having?

I was diagnosed with stage 2 er+/pr+ breast cancer with lymph node involvement in November of 2011. I am 43 years of age. I had a mastectomy with lymph node dissection. I received 4 treatments of Adriamycin and Cytoxan, then 12 treatments of Taxol, followed by 33 radiation treatments. I am currently taking Anastrozole. My ob/gyn wondered why they didn't want me to have a total or partial hysterectomy. Should I do this. Am I at high risk for cancer of the ovaries or uterus?

Now endo is suggesting that in order to give him more time to grow, we give him Anastrozole. I have seen lot of posts and spent hours on the forums wherever I found mention of advanced bone age/Anastrozole/Letrozole. Recently had transvaginal ultrasound, came back with endometrial fluid, just had endometrial biopsy and DNC. Dr told me fluid in cavity was not a good thing to have and is a sign of uterine cancer. Well you can believe I am scared and need to wait 10 days for results. Can the fluid be cause by anything else besides cancer?

I had stage 4 endo at age 33 and the doctor said I needed a full hysterectomy which removed ovaries, uterus and cervix. The doc said it was so bad that if I don't have the surgery when I menstruate I would cough blood if it moved to my lungs. I had the surgery and have been on the estradial patch for at least 5 years. I am on .1 and .5 patch every 4 days. I am now 40 and just went to a new doc and she was shocked I was on such a high dose.

I know I shouldn't worry but I've ignored symptoms for a year that points to Endometrial Cancer and it's a common cancer that can be caught early and treated. Here's where I'm beating myself with worry, I haven't had a GYN exam since 2007 and I've been going to the same dr since 1998 so he knows me and my symptoms very well.

A cancer that comes from the lining of the uterus is called endometrial cancer. A cancer that comes from the ovary is called ovarian cancer. Treatment for both cancers involves in part, at least, the removal of the uterus, cervix, right and left fallopian tubes and ovaries. For ovarian cancer , it is rare to not need chemotherapy. That is for just about all women unless it is a stage I cancer, they will need chemotherapy.

HI, The endometrial thickening of 16mm does need evaluation. This could be because of endometrial hyperplasia or polyps or endometrial cancer. D&C and hysteroscopy will help make the diagnosis. Regarding the previous episode, probably nothing was done as the report was normal. If there is endometrial hyperplasia, this can progress to cancer and treatment with progesterone is helpful. My endometrial biopsy came abnormal, it does not say anything about cancer . It says they found polyps . I am confused , because I thought endometrial biopsy was suppose to find cancerous cells .

I did my endometrial biopsy, it come abnormal. It does not say if it’s cancer or not. It just says I got endometrial polyps. Since, The endometrial biopsy is abnormal does that mean those polyps are cancerous. Help please thank you.

I lived with it for about a year before going back to the doctor due to poor insurance during that time. Now he feels it could be endometrial cancer or a return of the polyps. My fear is that I have had cancer this whole time and he missed it the first time around. Shouldn't I have had a reduction in the bleeding at least for a short time? I am only 39 yet very overweight which greatly increases my chances. I feel it is highly unlikey that my scheduled ultrasound will show polyps.
