anastrozole and letrozole

Cancer recurred in 2019. Had the cancer removed. Did 5 rounds of chemo taxol and carbo. Put on anastrozole. Gave me symptoms. I am now on letrozole. Also experiencing symptoms. Will letrozole keep this cancer away. Is there a smaller does than 2.5 of letrozole that I can take.

It seems there are quite a few posts under Pediatric Endo forum but not able to find any answers if any parents tried Anastrozole/Letrozole and what has been their experience regarding delaying bone age and side effects. I will appreciate if any parent with experience of using Anastrozole for their kids may share their experience.

I am 75 but always had lots energy before cancer treatments (lumpectomy, chemo, radiation and now Anastrozole for 5 yrs). What can I do to combat all these bad side effects while taking Anastrozole for 4 more years??????? Are there other women going thru these, same side effects with Anastrozole etc.? How do you cope? December 14, 2009 (San Antonio, Texas) — New results coming from 2 mature trials with exemestane (Aromasin, Pfizer) suggest that this aromatase inhibitor differs slightly from the other 2 available products, letrozole (Femara, Novartis) and anastrozole (Arimidex, AstraZeneca). Although all 3 are aromatase inhibitors, exemestane is a steroidal product that binds irreversibly to the estrogen receptor; the other 2 products are both nonsteroidal and are reversible inhibitors.

(beyond the initial 5 years) is with letrozole (Femara) after 5 years of tamoxifen. Letrozole and anastrozole (Arimidex) are both aromatase inhibitors and are very similar to one another. In most of the adjuvant studies using these drugs, 5 years of treatment has been given. An ongoing study will compare 5 to 10 years of aromatase inhibitors but there are no results available yet on that study.

I am 63 and just diagnosed with Stage 1, ER/PR Positive, node negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Hi. Just to clarify matters: Femara is the brand name of the drug letrozole. Since you've already taken this drug and it has caused you severe joint pain, it's really not advisable for you to be taking it again. In the MA-17 clinical trial, Femara/letrozole was intended to be given for a duration of 5 years after Tamoxifen. However, patients in that study were only treated for an average of two years before the study was unblinded.

Hand-foot syndrome is a condition where the palms of the hands and soles of the feet become reddish, swollen and develop pain and tingling sensations. Sometimes, rash or peeling of the skin in the palms and soles also occur. Reducing the dose of Xeloda can help decrease this side effect. Applying ice packs and skin lotion can also help relieve the burning sensation and dryness. Another option which your grandmother can take is to discontinue Xeloda altogether.

I have used both and after five attempts with clomid no success and the first try with letrozole I got pregnant with my son due to placenta ruption. I'm trying letrozole again with this cycle.

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.

So, I took birth control for a month and a half to allow it to shrink. I then started Letrozole this cycle. I would go with what your doctor says. From my understanding, the Letrozole will help you to produce follicles, where Metformin helps to regulate insulin, which in turn helps you to ovulate. Taking the Letrozole may be good, because you need follicles.

I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march.The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

I did letrozole(femara) with injectibles and timed intercourse. It worked first try and my baby is now a little over 10 months. I didn't have any side effects from it(except pregnancy lol).

I don't understand your question .... if you mean the difference between Femara and Letrozole .... if you mean the difference between the two names there isn't any. Letrozole is the Generic Name for Femara. Regards ....

My son is 5'1" and has early puberty. We have decided to give him anastrozole and are going today to get all of his hormones tested. We are considering Lupron because he is going through puberty early to help delay everything. It is really scary to me too. I am giving liquid vitamins everyday to help give him vitamin D, etc.

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?

So maybe you could ask him whether your son does that and whether orgasm is achievable and anything at all comes out? If orgasm is possible, right afterwards he may obtain a urine sample and send it to laboratory for microscopic diagnostic to determine the presence of sperm in it. There is a condition called retrograde ejaculation, where seprm flows the wrong way- towards urinary bladder.
