I suggest you be very careful with phentermine, it is very similar to the chemical makeup of methamphetamine. The side effects of high dose or extended use are similar to amphetamine. This drug can blow out your adrenal glands, make you grind teeth until they rot, cause nervous ticks. More important question is why you took it. If you don't have ADHD, the stuff can be very habit forming and even deadly.

Actually, suboxone does halt both cravings and wd's from full opiate agonists. The reason why suboxone works so well is from several aspects. It has a strong agonistic capability which causes it to partially activate the Mu (Opiate) receptors. It is also suspected to activate Kappa receptors on a partial level as well.
Another side is Buprenorphines high binding affinity on the Mu receptors...
I put my daughter on a amphetamine after i see the effects and benefits and try other things like behavior management and therapy. It helped a little but when my daughter was getting Ds and Fs in school and could not sit for more then 10 mins and talking out in class and other things that you do not need to know. I had decided that it is time to take other action and put her on meds.
I have tried amphetamine salts too, that seems to have fewer side effects. My plan is to switch back to that.
Just to add to what Desrt said..... make sure his thyroid has been checked also. often the meds can send it into hypothyroid and that has a whole host of symptoms.
Sorry to hear of the relapse...hope he considers giving it another go with the new meds and that he starts to feel better as time goes on

Tell me please, what effects does 4-5 yrs of amphetamine(addreall) use have on the heart of a 9-10 yr old child? What part of the heart does this effect? Have you seen aortic stenosis or any other valvular problems? Please help!!!
He may need immediate medical attention if the symptoms have not resolved. Overdose of Adderall with is an amphetamine can be toxic or deadly. Please make sure that this is addressed. My best wishes to both of you.
he already has a lot of the side effects, but no change in behavior yet. he was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. though it is too soon to tell i have more concerns than optimism when it comes to this medication because it does cause weight loss and loss of appetite and my son has alot of trouble keeping weight on as it is.
