I guess I have a couple questions: Is ephedrine considered an amphetamine? Would a doctor say such? What are some of the long-term effects that could come from long term usage? Over the last 4-5 years(used ephedrine for over a year, previously), I've had some serious side-effects, totally life altering side-effects.
I began very heavy and daily use of Amphetamines about 7 or 8 months ago. when use, i will crush up the amphetamine salts, as well as Adderall XR (which is a much more powerful pharmaseutical). Recently I have been diagnosed with a serious kidney infection. My only problem is that the antibiotics are not working in the manner that they are supposed to. I have been sick for a week and a half, and still have symptoms.
My pulse is exceptionally weak and my blood pressure is 156/90 after taking one (1) 500mg Naproxen and an amphetamine. I went and got my blood pressure checked, as well as my resting heart rate. The nurse never actually tried to feel my pulse, though. So I came home and I am very worried about how weak my pulse is. Has anybody heard weather or not taking Naproxen with an amphetamine can be harmful because it is not in the drug facts and I cannot find anything about it online either.

Have you spoken to your psychiatrist or doctors about this? Youre on 2 different SNRI anti depressant drugs for one thing.. Puzzling.. Lithium can actually lower blood pressure in some cases, Risperdal does not have it Listed as a side effect, Clonazepam lowers blood pressure but Dexedrine can cause hypertension and does - its a common side effect. Its also an amphetamine and a bad idea for most bipolar patients.. Call your doctor ok.
The side effects of high dose or extended use are similar to amphetamine. This drug can blow out your adrenal glands, make you grind teeth until they rot, cause nervous ticks. When Amphetamines were more regulated to sell as diet aids, phentermine started to be the main drug sold for hunger suppression. Be careful, people do get strung out on that drug.
B12 deficiency, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, digestive issues, persistant rashes, depression, lethargy, heart issues, and the List goes on. I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find anything. Surely some studies have been done.
Words and ideas seemed to flow on demand. Now in my 3rd year of college though, every one of the problems I List seems to have worsened drastically. I am EXTREMELY distractible, very, very anxious about my work, it takes me hours to even begin something...forrget about finishing and, with every supplement and energy drink, still cannot find the motivation, clear, succinct thought patterns, focus and mental effort needed to write an essay due last semester.
My family and I agree that bipolar II is not likely...I am not depressed. The mania and the ADHD seem so similar. I am currently on amphetamine salts for ADHD, Lithium for Bipolar, and Trazadone for sleep and anxiety. I do not want to be on all of this. The amphetamine salts seem to make it hard to sleep and cause the muscle pain in my body to worsen but when I was on it by itself, I didn't have impusivity issues. My family knows that I am not depressed.

Copyman: I couldn't find evidence that small doses of amphetamine cause any harm to the liver. Can you kindly refer me any sources that lead you to believe otherwise. Fretboard: I have Hep C and the fatigue associated with the treatment. I ran across this article which recommends using Ritalin as possible treatment for fatigue: http://www.catie.ca/catienews.nsf/9d6a0a99ab2787c985256b9c005b053b/951ef230c048982c85256efc006c4351!
Great List. Thanks. I was surprised to see Xanax heading the List. It is highly addictive and outlawed in the UK. I had to take it briefly, on an as-needed basis, for panic attacks caused by an inhaled steroid. I was very, very careful with that drug. That said, it worked like a charm.
I feel really depressed, angry, muscles twitch, i get nervous, confused, anxious, blurry vision, heavy eyes, jaw pain (from grinding I guess), dry mouth and the List goes on and vary every time. I talked to my friends about it and they just says "so stop talking them!!!." of course I don't need to tell you how easy that sounds. If I don't take them, I get no studying done. My mind just keeps wondering off, I have zero motivation or desire.
I skim read at this time of night so i missed one obvious cause. From the List, arrhythmia would seem the most likely. An arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat tachycardia (too fast), bradycardia (too slow), premature contraction (too early,) or fibrillation (too irregular). My sister and i were yellow (jaundiced) when we were severely deficient in B12. Along with greyish hair, brown pigmentation, red spider veins, and white spots we were an unenviable colour palette.
And those who did know what they were had been buying them off the street or on line and usually had a Heroin and Amphetamine habit as well. Plus Coke and MDMA and what ever. But on prescription DHCodine was the nearest thing to what i was taking and i had them anyway, you name it that you can get in the UK at the time it was in my home in big quantities Anyway My DOB on said profile it can't be bloody ''Edited'' but hey!!
I may suggest that you take supplements or herbs but you can buy them elsewhere. (Note the word 'suggest'. Not require. Then if the List of supplements is long----(Ins. co. do not pay for supplements) ask him to pare that List down to the bare minimum and the most important ones." ************************* If you would like to post the name of the 'Lyme' doctor you used I'd be glad to vet her, if I can. Or send me a P.M.
These are typical side effects froom withdrawls of that type of medication (amphetamine, methylphetamine) or stimulants. If a patient is used to being on a stimulant drug for some time, withdrawing that drug would cause a general slowing down of the body, hence the extreme fatigue, lack of motivation and focus. Your body is going through an increased response of side effects from withdrawl, as you've been of this medication for a year which is why your symptoms may be more exaggerated.
From the age of 16 till 30, I was a heroin, amphetamine addict; plus every other drug that was going. (Fortunately, the heroin and amphetamine was prescribed by the hospital, so I did not run the many risks of contaminated "street" drugs. So really, I've got off pretty lightly. Forgot to mention: alcohol became a problem for many years after the drugs. But I have abstained for a looong time. Praise God, I never have any desire for drugs or drink anymore. Love and hugs to you all.

They're a controlled substance, so yes, it's illegal if you don't have a prescription. They probably check for THC, cocaine, amphetamine, benzos (which Valium is one), opiates... through a urine or blood sample, although some use hair.
Provigil was intended for narcolepsy and to keep people awake. Its most certainly not an amphetamine and not addictive but does make some people feel overly active ("speeded up"). But if people find their medications intolerable or that they don't work find out about more anti-depressents and mood stabilizers used experimentally but FDA approved for other purposes. Google "Depression Central" and this has a List as well: http://www.psycheducation.
Spencer can concentrate on reading, can amuse himself for hours, and shows no sign of hyperactivity. According to the List of symptoms he must exhibit to have a diagnosis of ADHD, he doesn't have it. The child psychologist disagrees and thinks Spencer should start on some form of medication. His teacher, who spends all day with him and has a son with ADHD, said he absolutely does not have ADHD and should not be on medication for that. But his behavioral issues continue.
You are not having a four day heart attack - Are you aware that Wellbutrin is derived from amphetamine? You may have some pnuemonia to take care of or you may be overloading on the wellbutrin by crushing it - - monitor yourself closely and get Pro help if you start to have other heart symptoms or if you do have an elevated temp............
I am so thankful to see your pursing this, as I hope more parents will. I also hope your doing research on what these kinds of drugs can potentially do to a growing childs brain.
Piracetam can be bought over the internet and is not a controlled substance and Modafinil is prescription only, you can talk to your doctor about it, it is not a stimulant in the amphetamine family like Dexedrine therefore it have no real side effects other than side effects of caffeine and any physical addiction can't be achieved.
