Avatar m tn My pulse is exceptionally weak and my blood pressure is 156/90 after taking one (1) 500mg Naproxen and an amphetamine. I went and got my blood pressure checked, as well as my resting heart rate. The nurse never actually tried to feel my pulse, though. So I came home and I am very worried about how weak my pulse is. Has anybody heard weather or not taking Naproxen with an amphetamine can be harmful because it is not in the drug facts and I cannot find anything about it online either.
674607 tn?1240017232 Have you spoken to your psychiatrist or doctors about this? Youre on 2 different SNRI anti depressant drugs for one thing.. Puzzling.. Lithium can actually lower blood pressure in some cases, Risperdal does not have it listed as a side effect, Clonazepam lowers blood pressure but Dexedrine can cause hypertension and does - its a common side effect. Its also an amphetamine and a bad idea for most bipolar patients.. Call your doctor ok.
1861446 tn?1320445285 Hi ppl. I've been on amphetamine since I was 14. I'm 28 this month. That's half of my life. I've been working hard the past 12 months to gain funding for rehab. I'm curious if anyone else has a similar story to me and even more curious to know whether life can actually feel worth living ever again..
Avatar m tn Adderal is an amphetamine, but it shouldn't test as "meth" in a good drug screen. I happen to have a urine drug screen form right here, you can test "negative". Or positive for cannabinoids, cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine, opiates, etc. The amphetamine and meth are two different "check boxes", and you should have tested positive for amphetamine. If you have a prescription in your name that shouldn't be a problem. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn I have two sons with ADHD. The 'upper meds' 'boots' is talking about are the ones the are in the amphetamine class...extremely addictive, if abused. Ritilan, Adderal, Focalin, Daytrana are a few more in that class. He/she also added that they are an recovering addict, so I assume that they have abused, or are afraid that they will abuse these meds. Boots: I know of one that isn't an 'upper'. It's called 'Concerta'.
Avatar n tn B12 deficiency, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, digestive issues, persistant rashes, depression, lethargy, heart issues, and the list goes on. I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find anything. Surely some studies have been done.
Avatar f tn Adderall is an amphetamine. And it's addictive much like cocaine is. Maybe someone with personal experience with cocaine could jump in? Look up 'amphetamine psychosis' and 'dopamine hypothesis of psychosis/schizophrenia' to see how extended use of amphetamine can change a person psychologically. Becoming violent is only the tip of the iceberg of everything it can cause to happen to a person emotionally.
Avatar f tn It's not okay to take someone else medications but well, Vyvanse is a stimulant in the category of amphetamines. Not suggested for anxiety but can be helpful for depression. Wellbutrin could be a bit more suitable for you with less side-effects if dopamine and norepinephrine is a problem in your depression/anxiety. Depression often leads to anxiety so yeah maybe when you took Vyvanse you had euphoric effects similar to those with amphetamine ''speed''.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, i am 23/M recently i've started to experience that funny feeling going from lower center chest to stomach that lasts for around 1sec. I can't describe it, but its kinda the same sensation when you start driving downhill ( Falling feeling i guess ). I get it while im sitting in front of my PC and get sudden emotions or suddenly excited ( such as seeing new awesome pic of a friend or a scary one ).
Avatar f tn Are there any anti depressants or non stimulant/amphetamine meds that will help with the sleep attacks & day time drowsiness associated with narcolepsy? I'm a naturally anxious person.. and going on something like Adderall or Ritalin is out of the question... unless maybe if I have to drive somewhere that day. Is there any way to correct the condition, like with antidepresants?
Avatar f tn The side effects of high dose or extended use are similar to amphetamine. This drug can blow out your adrenal glands, make you grind teeth until they rot, cause nervous ticks. When amphetamines were more regulated to sell as diet aids, phentermine started to be the main drug sold for hunger suppression. Be careful, people do get strung out on that drug.
Avatar m tn I'm 18, and currently diagnosed with multiple disorders including bipolar depression, ADD, severe anxiety, OCD, FPP. My conditions were just diagnosed this year although I've had them for nearly all my life. As someone with bipolar disorder, like everyone else with my condition I've been through some (others would say a lot of) drug abuse.
1752816 tn?1312180299 My family and I agree that bipolar II is not likely...I am not depressed. The mania and the ADHD seem so similar. I am currently on amphetamine salts for ADHD, Lithium for Bipolar, and Trazadone for sleep and anxiety. I do not want to be on all of this. The amphetamine salts seem to make it hard to sleep and cause the muscle pain in my body to worsen but when I was on it by itself, I didn't have impusivity issues. My family knows that I am not depressed.
Avatar m tn Words and ideas seemed to flow on demand. Now in my 3rd year of college though, every one of the problems I list seems to have worsened drastically. I am EXTREMELY distractible, very, very anxious about my work, it takes me hours to even begin something...forrget about finishing and, with every supplement and energy drink, still cannot find the motivation, clear, succinct thought patterns, focus and mental effort needed to write an essay due last semester.
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed a generic version of adderall 10mg once a day. From what I read this is amphetamine. My prescription ran out and I used a concerta my concern is if I have a urine test or hair follicle test will the methylphenidate in the concerta show up? Concerta is not my prescribed medicine.
Avatar n tn It can be a side effect of Ritalin (methylphenidate), Adderall (dextro/levo-amphetamine) and Lunesta (eszopiclone) and other prescription drugs or of cocaine or amphetamines. (Accordingly, it goes by the slang term "coke bugs".) Formication can also be a withdrawal symptom of weaning oneself off cocaine or amphetamine. It can also accompany alcohol withdrawal in alcoholics, along with delirium tremens.
Avatar f tn My 7 yr old son is taking Tenex along with D-Amphetamine. These 2 together have given us much success over the summer, but school starting will be a whole new ball game for us. I haven't tried his treatment with just the D-Amphetamine alone, so I can't really say that the Tenex is playing a major factor in the treatment.
Business woman2 I am happy to help you with your question. At Walgreens, we currently carry the Barr manufacturer brand of generic Adderall. All the forms of generic Adderall and all strengths from Barr manufacturer do not contain neither Gluten nor Lactose. Wishing you the best! Be well.
Avatar m tn It's basically the same as a Red Bull and all energy drinks. NOT a relevant solution or replacement for Adderall. Generic IR Adderall isn't expensive at all and is called mixed amphetamine salts or amphetamine, dextroamphetamine mixed salts. Something like less than a dollar per pill.
Avatar f tn Pain meds would not break down into amphetamine metabolites. They are two entirely different categories of drugs. Hopefully, the blood test if it was done within 3 days of the urine test will show your claims. Testing sent out, has chromotography/mass spectrometry seldom result in false negatives or positives. Your paperwork from the hospital should list every medication given to you and the amounts.
Avatar f tn I began very heavy and daily use of amphetamines about 7 or 8 months ago. when use, i will crush up the amphetamine salts, as well as Adderall XR (which is a much more powerful pharmaseutical). Recently I have been diagnosed with a serious kidney infection. My only problem is that the antibiotics are not working in the manner that they are supposed to. I have been sick for a week and a half, and still have symptoms.
