adderall

Avatar f tn Consider this - Since Vyvanse is a stimulant/amphetamine long term use (especially for someone not prescribed) can lead to personality changes, aggressive behavior, homicidal/suicidal thoughts. Chronic users can experience Amphetamine Psychosis - resembles paranoid schizophrenia, delusions, hallucinations, and paranoia. I second M4's suggestion - good advice.
Avatar n tn it sounds like she has an eating disorder and takes adderall compulsively to keep her appetite away, and it also seems like she may be experiencing amphetamine-induced psychosis, which would explain the paranoia and disconnected thoughts which are unlikely characteristics of someone of her age who's made it to grad school.
Avatar f tn m looking for information on alcohol induced psychosis, or alcohol triggering an underlying mental disorder and manifesting in an acute and highly volatile way. Basically, the person I've been dating for over a year is a pretty mellow person. Things are falling into place now as I remember comments made by his friends.
617474 tn?1466635798 hi, i am considering taking 5 htp because of the panic attacks i get from the lsd induced psychosis, i just want to know if there will be any side effects, or if it is not safe to start taking it. i read somewhere that 5 htp helps people with lsd psychosis.
Avatar m tn I'm 18, and currently diagnosed with multiple disorders including bipolar depression, ADD, severe anxiety, OCD, FPP. My conditions were just diagnosed this year although I've had them for nearly all my life. As someone with bipolar disorder, like everyone else with my condition I've been through some (others would say a lot of) drug abuse.
Avatar n tn I was recently like few months ago overdosed Amphetamine ( im not drug addict, we just sometimes use things like that at parties etc ), had terrible psychosis and the rest things was exactly like epilepsy attack ( extremely blured and triple vision, difficulty maintaining balance, small visual hallucinations was night, so i seen people standing everywhere mostly where was dark road signs or poles, difficulty to speech and many other symptoms, even i do not suffer from epilepsy ).
Avatar n tn ve done some research, and it seems alcohol can cause a plain psychosis, same as a drug induced psychosis. Interestingly enough, they say a drug induced psychosis is indistinguishable from an acute polymorphic psychotic episode, which was my diagnosis. I also wondered whether it was the DTs, possibly brought on by the NSAIDs on an already taxed liver and my worried mental state (and alcohol of course!).
Avatar n tn Hysterectomy techincally causes what is called a "surgically induced menopause" theres also a medically induced menopause which can be from chemicals in meds or other medical conditions. Many people dont know that ovaries still trickle just a bit ( usually) of estrogen even post menopause, for this reason I try to encourage women to retain ovaries when fesiable.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 20 mg amphetamine, generic adderall, periodically for the last few months. When I take it, I get very noticeable shrinkage. I am a 30 year old man, but only saw add adhd under the childhood categories. Is this a permanent/long term side effect, or does it change once the medicine is out of your system, my mind might be playing tricks on me at this point, and it's difficult for me to tell.
585414 tn?1288941302 I have developed severe forms of tardive dyskinesia from tardive myoclonus to tardive psychosis (this condition itself is still under investigation but a psychiatric researcher from Columbia will be following it up). I acquired this condition from the long term use of antipsychotics but was unable to tolerate Clozaril and am on an experimental antipsychotic in FDA study glycine under the care of a psychopharmocologist.
Avatar n tn when abitatlify started to take. he is talking to himselff. is it bad . is it induced psychosis. he was on zyprexa -. foe 5months. not much omprovement. how long it take to get better with these combinations.
202665 tn?1248806733 I read that one reason you cannot join with bipolar disorder or schizophrenia is because they confiscate all medicines you take and force you off of them when you start boot camp. Of course there's also the fact that my friend suffered chemical induced psychosis several years ago and they refused to let him join just because of that... if you've ever experienced psychosis then it's a big no to you which with bipolar disorder psychosis can be an issue.
Avatar f tn Well adrenaline and other neurotransmitters when increased artificially (such as by steroids as described in the article) can clearly worsen psychosis in a person with a pre-existing psychiatric disability or cause psychosis of their own. It should also be noted that another cause of psychosis which is substance induced is PCP induced psychosis has lead to promising research to treat it and understand the nature of psychosis from schizophrenia and other related psychiatric disabilities.
1076391 tn?1258412241 First of all don't worry about psychosis, it is just a warning i give you that someone can develop this illness and one of the ways do develop this illness is by using using drugs and LSD is prone to induce a psychosis in person vulnerable to psychosis. You are not psychotic i swear.
Avatar f tn Can you explain to me what a drug induced psychosis episode is and what it's caused from?
585414 tn?1288941302 s (which is different in origin than schizophrenia psychosis, they also found it of use in me in the study criteria tardive psychosis but more research needs to be done on that criteria itself before its determined whether it exists or not to begin with). As per the receptors mentioned, dopamine receptors are of course the standard receptors that antipsychotics work on. Muscarinic receptors are ones that current antipsychotics (and other medications) effect but not purposely.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone I'm new to this place so I don't know where to post exactly. So I decided to post here because I've been feeling really really down for a while now. I want to go and see a doctor or a therapist or someone to talk about how I've been feeling lately but I just been putting it off. I don't know why but I just don't feel like myself anymore. I don't remember when was the last time I was 'normal' and it's really making me angry at myself.
Avatar m tn It has been suggested that marijuana is at the root of many mental disorders, including acute toxic psychosis, panic attacks (one of the very conditions it is being used experimentally to treat), flashbacks, delusions, depersonalization, hallucinations, paranoia, depression, and uncontrollable aggressiveness. Marijuana has long been known to trigger attacks of mental illness, such as bipolar (manic-depressive) psychosis and schizophrenia.
Avatar n tn And the lack of sleep coupled with lack of nutrition set you up for an amphetamine psychosis that will bend your minds. You need a lot of education to even deal with your hubby.......read these posts and read the health pages - - use the archives and search (use search engine) specifically for methamphetamine abuse and read that information. You cannot learn too much about this..........
Avatar f tn The model in use for psychosis depends on the type, the extent, and other factors. In general an episode is seen as a kind of explosion of feelings and thoughts that are tied to real life problems that have been suppressed or avoided. The tendency to this kind of episode is based on some combination of genetic and environmental factors. An episode may be a single episode and not require anything after it is completed, or part of another complex that does need to be treated.
