Common Questions and Answers about Amoxil for pregnant women

amoxil

Avatar f tn A friend had unprotected sex with a lady he had known for quite a while now, many days later he started discharge and experiencing acute penile itchiness. He took some Amoxil that was prescribed to him for a previous sinus infection, and the itchiness reduced drastically, the discharge stopped too. He thinks it's penile yeast infection, but I told him Amoxil makes yeast infection worse so it couldn't possibly be. He is too shy to go see a doctor. Can Amoxil cure yeast infection?
Avatar m tn it's 3000mg or 3 grams of medication. if you are still having symptoms, return to be seen again for a proper exam and testing. never in your best interest to guess and just randomly throw antibiotics at a problem.

Avatar n tn I think obviosly the Amoxil calmed down the pain a great deal for me especially in the tooth/sinus area, but the bone in my gum is still painful and my glands are still swollen, plus I think it will just come back like it did before. Do you perhaps have something else you could add?
Avatar n tn He has taken a multitude of oral antibiotics --Amoxil 875 Mg 2x day for 14 days, to straight penicillin, Rifampin 300 Mg 2x day for 10 days, Clindamycin. Nothing seems to rid him of these nodules or lower his ASO titer. Overall crummy feeling most of the time. Headaches, leg aches, joint aches, back ache, neck ache. I am now being told he may have an autoimmune disorder. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I see a ton of pregnant women working at maternity stores. I think it's very smart to have women with child working in places like that. I also have seen women at drug stores, Babies R Us, or maybe another daycare?
Avatar f tn I live in Tennessee. My job post is actually a sitting down position except for rounds I have to make every hour... Outside. I thought about working at a call center, think I'll look into that. I am also concerned about job security switching jobs but I will likely keep my current job but I WILL need a part time one also so that I'm not living check to check. Thanks for all the suggestions!
Avatar n tn I had a back lower right molar removed. The dentist had to freeze me over 10 times. The extraction went OK but a day & 1/2 after the extraction - my lower right and a bit above was very sore then my right cheek started to swell up the size of a golf ball. Went back to the dentist 5 days later - he said you have an infection - prescribed antibiotics - 2 kinds Amoxil & Metronidazole - now today the swelling has reduced 2 days later. What can I eat? and is the whole thing normal?
Avatar f tn Your dentist may need to try to clean her teeth for her or refer to a pediatric dentist for further evaluation.
Avatar f tn When you go to medical school you learn that and that you shouldnt treat pregnant women any difrent then non. Yea things are more dificult but we asked for it. We need to do things ourself we should be able to do anything we could before. Speacil treatment is unneeded. If you cant stand in line that is your problem and not everyone elses you need to figure out ways around it.
Avatar f tn I have the same exact problem, except I'm not pregnant. My doctor (not my ob/gyn) said I have severe vaginal dryness (whatever that's supposed to mean). I also noticed that I'm breaking out a little bit where I shave. So, I think it's an infection of some type. I've been taking amoxil for the infection and I am feeling TONS better (this is day 3).
Avatar f tn I am way too young to have this problem. I have had acid reflux for years now and i have been taking meds for it. My doctor told me I need to try to ween myself off of the medicine (zegerid, because nexium and a million other meds dont woork). I tried doing that and I still keep getting heartburn no matter what. I have gotten the endoscopy several times and the doctors just say that the bottom of my esophagus is not tight, which gives me G.E.R.D. I can't deal with this anymore.

170935 tn?1225371076 The national evidence-based recommendations are that asthma control should be a top priority for all pregnant women, for the benefit of both mother and child. You should ask your doctor why he/she chose not to treat your asthma. Both asthma and sinusitis should be treated vigorously. If your doctor is unwilling or unable to do that, you should request consultation with an asthma specialist and/or an obstetrician who specializes in high-risk pregnancies. You can have it both ways.
Avatar n tn I just looked at several websites about this and only found 2 answers. One, there IS a cialis made for women. Two, women should not take cialis for men. No reason was given. Sorry that's all I have for you.

Avatar f tn I live in Texas & just qualified for Medicaid for Pregnant Women since I have a deductable with my insurance & it won't cover my appts. I was just wondering if it covers dentist visits & vision & stuff or do I have to have full medicaid for that? Anybody know?
