then i got sick with allergies and cold symptoms so my sister took me to carenow where i got doxycycline hyclate 100mg 2x a day for 10 days to clear up my sinus infection. right after i stopped taking the doxycycline i went to the dentist for a bad cavitity on my back tooth and got amoxicillin 500mg 3x a day for 10 days. it is possible that those meds not only cleared up what they were prescribed for but the std as well?
I took some anti-inflammatory meds along and a pill of amoxicillin. The burning immediately went a way almost immediately(couple hours), Could this be an Std of some sort. I know it's not smart take meds without being evaluated first.
*Augmentin -- Standard Augmentin cannot exceed three tablets daily due to the clavulanate, thus is given with amoxicillin, so that the total dose of the amoxicillin component is as listed above for amoxicillin. This combination can be effective when Bb beta lactamase is felt to be significant.
*Augmentin XR 1000 -- This is a time-release formulation and thus is a better choice than standard Augmentin. Dose -- 1000 mg q 8 h, to 2000 mg q 12 h based on blood levels.
The best antibiotic is probably amoxicillin or clindamycin. Ciprofloxacin would work. I don't usually prescribe bactrim. I don't really prescribe ciprofloxacin either.
With joint pain. My doctor tested me for Lyme disease and it was positive. I took doxycycline For 12 Days till I developed a mild rash on my face. My doctor took me off and put me on amoxicillin for 2 more weeks.
My question is if I have contacted syphilis from this exposure would all these antibiotics cure it? And would an 95 day hiv negative oral swab be considered conclusive? Please help put my fears behind me.
After my unsuccessful 48 weeks of traditional HCV treatment, I took amoxicillin as prescribed for pre dental work as I also have a total joint replacement. m not medically trained, but I am not sure that amoxicillin is effective in Lyme. Doxycycline is sometimes used, but my Lyme doc didn't use it.
It's never too late to treat Lyme. It's a nasty disease, and going after it early and hard is the right thing to do. And don't forget those possible co-infections.
I thought I got the hang of his kidney to make him feel comfortable, yet he developed very bad skin infection on his entire body, worst in groin area and back legs to the point where he would not want to walk much. The vet tried 4 different antibiotics ( amoxicillin, then rilexine then Zeniquin and last doxycycline) and none have cleared the infection. After the doxycycline in liquid form my dog has been vomiting constantly. He can’t seem to swallow comfortably anymore.

This article reads to me as trying carefully to reframe the current so-called 'mainstream' view of why those who are supposedly cured (after a few weeks of doxycycline) continue to have symptoms of Lyme.
The so-called 'mainstream' view held by the CDC and IDSA is that after the standard treatment for Lyme, any continuing symptoms are due to an over-active immune system reacting to a now-gone Lyme infection.
t wait around for ever before I had to have sex with my wife, On Thurday, I started taking doxycycline 100 mg 12 hours apart and amoxicillin 500 mg 3 times per day. On Monday, I was tested again and everything was negative. I never stopped taking the doxy and amoxy and I was planning on continuing to complete 7 days on these antibiotics. Could these Antibiotics be responsible for a false negative chlamydia/gonorrhea result? The only time that I showed symptoms was at 2,3 days after exposure.
I have built up a tolerance to Levequin, Zithromyacin, Amoxicillin, after 9 years of COPD and now have bronchitis. Any suggestions for other potential antibiotics or other ideas?

Amoxicillin is NOT the treatment for Lyme Disease.......All Tick diseases are treated with Doxycycline or a Tetracycline...You need a second opinion & I'd do it tomorrow if possible.......
I've had weird heart symptoms and anxiety after taking 3 g of leftover amoxicillin. It started with the anxiety and a heavy, fast heart rate. I've never had anxiety before, so this was alarming to me. I felt like I was always conscious of my breathing too, which made it feel like it was harder to breathe. Then I started getting chest pain and pain in my left arm, near the elbow, as well as slight numbness in my left hand fingers. These symptoms lasted throughout the night.
The doctor put me now on flagyl and Amoxicillin. He told me that one of the serious side eefects can be numbness (from Flagyl I think) and that I should stop immediately. Last night I began the treatment (4 times a day 250mg pills). I woke up with a light pain/numbness on my left arm, with a tickling feeling occasionally on my left palm. I would really like to continue this drug as I have read positive things about it, and also because I have lost faith on Doxycycline.
Here's the situation
Dec. 21st had unprotected oral sex with unknown female for couple minutes. Unable to *** therefore I ejaculated pretty hard. About 5 days later had fully protected vaginal sex. A couple days later I started experiencing constant burning in my urethra no discharge. A week later I went to anylabtesting center where I got tested for chlamydia and gonarrhea. All test came back negative. They use the NAAT testing for both.
I was taking amoxicillin for tooth problem. On the second day I started having full bladder with difficulty to urinate and clear discharge symptoms. The Dr. told me since I was on antibiotic I could'nt take a urine test. He asked me to finish the 7 day amoxicillin and after gave me 1g zithro and cipro for 14 days. On the 14 day I still have a few symptoms. My question is if it was chlamydia - gonorrhea would this have cured it? Please advise..
I had no choice since I am not coming home in 2 weeks but to take amoxicillin. I was afraid I had exposure and knowing that health care is hard to get I decided to take full 7 days course. Can you please tell me if amoxicillin would clear any of the stds? In case I contracted any? Also did I start treatment to early 8 hours after the exposure following for 7 days.
