Hi, antibiotics, such as amoxicillin for 2 weeks, have been the recommended first-line treatment of uncomplicated acute sinusitis. Amoxicillin-clavulanate (Augmentin) is also an appropriate first-line treatment of uncomplicated acute sinusitis. Other options include cephalosporins such as cefpodoxime proxetil (Vantin) and cefuroxime (Ceftin). In patients allergic to beta-lactams, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim), clarithromycin (Biaxin), and azithromycin.
Strep can be resistant. Amoxicillin unless in high doses or mixed with clavulanate acid (making the brand name Augmentin) can be ineffective and the azithromycin add on really sounds like an odd choice to treat strep. Call your doctor and tell them you are not improving. You normally start to feel better within 48 hours on an antibiotic with lessoning of symptoms (always take the full course of the medication though even if you feel better).
ve now been prescribed by my ENT Amoxicillin-Clavulanate which has not improved anything over the first 5 days of taking it.

I went to the dentist 3 days ago she said there is nothing they can do until i finish antibiotic treatment so she prescribed to me 875mg of amoxicillin + 125mg of clavulanate EVERY 8 HOURS. I pretty much been in extreme tooth pain and to add to that every time i take this i get pretty bad stomach pain i describe it as the empty feeling you have when you don't eat anything but x10, so i did some searching and i could not find anywhere saying 875mg every 8 hours i only saw every 12 hours.
i have scalp infecetion that has small white pus formation. I was prescribed Amoxicillin Clavulanate 650 mg and Linezolid 600 mg for 7 days
but after 2 weeks of finishing my medication, it recurred again. Please advise.
On Monday I went doctor since I had some fever and sore throat, he said it was tonsillitis and prescribed me Augmentin 500g (amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium) and paracetamol. Okay now I don't have fever anymore and I don't feel the pain, it's getting better so I've stoped with paracetamol. But since yesterday I've started to have diarrhea. It's painless, I just notice some sounds in my stomach and a sudden need to go wc.
I think it is folliculitis. I was prescribed by physician Amoxicillin Clavulanate 625 mg 1 tab thrice daily + Linezolid 600 mg 1 tab twice daily along with B-complex cap for 7-10 days.
I took the medication for 7 days and all the infection seemed to disappear. But after 2 weeks of finishing my medication, the infection seems to re-occur.
Please advise.
I'm in the middle of being tested for thyroid problems, after having some sore areas in the front of my neck and being diagnosed in the ER with "anterior neck phlegmon" and treated with antibiotics and steroids. After two days, they were "puzzled" because the cat scan showed inflammation, but the thyroid ultrasound showed normal looking nodules nothing more.
1) although not preferred, will the Augmentin regimen clear me of anything?
2) how soon could I be accurately tested for STD's?
t really understand the difference. I have just started taking an anti biotic for a sinus infection it is amoxicillin clavulanate. My family does have a history of heart attacks.

ve had bronchitis recently and just finished a coarse of amoxicillin 875mg clavulanate 125mg about Feb. 22. 2016. So I know what that is and feels like and is not anything in the same ball park as this excruciating pain in my head and down my spine.
So yesterday I went to the Dr for an ear infection and the Dr said it was pretty bad. He prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. He said it was safe but I am scared. I have called and left a message for my drs assistant. Waiting for a call back. Have any of you had to take this in this dossage?

I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?
can you take amoxicillin if it exspired in january of 2009, i dont have insurance and had a few left over from my teeth and need to take them if i can. could someone please help me with this?
