I HAVE THE START OF A TOOTHACHE. I CANT AFFORD DENTIST APPT AT THIS TIME. MY HUSBAND HAD A TOOTHACHE MONTHS AGO AND THEY GAVE HIM AMOXICLLIN. THEY ENDED UP PULLING THE TOOTH SO HE DID NOT TAKE ALL THE MEDICATION. IT IS 500 MG. WAS WONDERING IF THAT IS TOO HIGH OF A DOSAGE FOR ME TO TAKE?

i had a tempory filling do about 2 mouth ago and in the last week ive been in a lot of pain not being aball to sleep so webt to my dentist and they said that my fillin was still intack and didnt look like i had and infection as my teeth didnt hurt but they gave me 250mg of amoxicillin to take one three times a day for 5 days but on the second day i woke up wth sowen lower jaw and in a lot of pain with the tooth i had my fillen i have a constant pain in my jaw with a throbbing pain from my tooth

Hi I'm 8+4 today. I'm having severe toothache from day b4 yesterday . It's my wisdom tooth ,left lower jaw n the tooth is totally decayed n extraction is the only thing to do.Dentist prescribed amoxicillin n paracetamol 650mg for the pain . Said that tooth extraction will be done only after delivery . But I'm in so much pain even after taking medicines. Is there no safe anesthesia that can be used on me during extraction ?

I was also wondering what I should do about it, the dentist said he'd have to put a crown on it next, but there's really no way I can afford that, especially when I have such little faith in that my pain would go away if he drilled it again. When I went back to him after 6 days, I was cleared. So happy. But then after that I started to have toothache after that. Yeah I am currently on amoxicillin (antibiotics) and they have not helped at all with the pain. The ONLY thing that has helped so far is using listerine but that only helps for like 1 minute max. I am finding myself, a grown man, crying at night now.

Usually if you tell your doctor they send you to the dentist. You can take an antibiotic like amoxicillin if you've got it and Tylenol.

Before that im experiencing headache and toothache. Before i thought it was a migraine because when it hurts i drink cold water or soda or eat cold foods. Then there was 1 time i was pissed off with the everyday pain i went to the clinic of our office and ask for a medicine for colds. The nurse gave me the medicine i need (neozep non drowze) Afterwards i suddenly felt relieved. I was thinking that it was about my sinus the after a day i felt not so well.

Motrin is the best thing for a toothache. I wouldnt take any narcotics. You will only awaken the beast that is in your head. Doesnt matter if it isnt your DOC, an opiate is an opiate. Try a warm washcloth on your face too.......sometimes that will help a bit.

I had a horrible toothache... so I finally broke down and went to the dentist. I'm almost 31 weeks. Anyway, I have a cavity near my root... they wouldn't fill it without approval from my obgyn. They said the best time to do dental work is 2nd trimester. My obgyn ok'd it and sent the dentist a list of what was considered safe for me.... You can take tylenol for the pain. I had an infection in my gum so I'm on amoxicillin too...

So you may want to see if you can at least get your doctor or old dentist to call in an RX for amoxicillin (its 4$ generic) so you dont get a bad toothache. Good luck to you.

Your desrcriptions suggest non-odontogenous toothache. There are muscular toothache, sinus toothache, neuropathic toothache, cardiac toothache, and neurovascular toothache. If ENT can not identify sinus pathology , seeing an orofacial pain specialist to investigate the source of pain is warranted.
