I just have the same problem after taking antibiotic Doxyxyline and probiotics and i mixed with pepto bismol when i go to bathroom and my stool is dark (black) i was scared but its hard stool not soft because im having diarhea past few days taking antibiotic..Is there someone experience this kind of issues? I will let my doc knows asap im kind a worried. I will stop taking antibiotic and wait for me to poop will see if will go back to normal... i hope so...
my baby girl had took moxicillin and she was very out of it an her nose was bleeding very bad and that was not one of the side effects so i was very worried about her she was so out of it she walked right into a wall and had a big not on her head that was black an blue on the med. blottle it 1 tablesp. 12 times a day for a 1 year is that right??????
I dont think that amoxicillin is the reason. By the way green stool in babies is almost normal and it might be because of fast movement of the stool in the bowel that it has no enough time to turn brown. Stools in origin are geen because of the bile secreted in it but in the bowel it turns brown. So it might be because he didnt eat enough the past days but be careful that he has no diarrhea. and if this persist u may contact his doctor.
anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
Other possibilities are inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn’s, celiac, IBS etc. It can be side effects of slimming pills, and whether allergy shots are causing this or not needs to be checked. Bacterial overgrowth and short bowel syndrome where food passes very quickly can be another cause. Take probiotics and see if it helps.

Since this mucosa is like in the pouch on one side, it is just normal, if the stool is black only on one side. This would go with middle right abdominal pain (not necessary). There is not always so much mixing inside the bowel, as you might think.
Another: if you have inflammed diverticles (diverticulitis) in the last part of the colon, stool can be trapped there, inflammation can cause bleeding or not, anyway, some old stool can be dark.

I have always been very regular - once a day, every day with no pain or unusual stool. Recently my BMs have been very urgent and when I do go the stool is small, loose, and there is mucus present. Occasionally I have seen blood on the toilet paper.

Avelox... I went yesterday and saw a lung specialist, he calmed me down and told me that i only have a little pneumonia in my lower left side it's nothing to be worried about. It's the bronchitis that's causing a lot of pain in my chest and back that I did not have prior to the antibiotics.
