I was given 875mg of amoxicillin this time when I went to the doctor. The amoxicillin seems to be working wonders. After only 2 doses the swelling and pain have significantly reduced however my stomach doesn't seem to like amoxicillin too much. A lot of cramping. I was wondering if there was a way to try to soothe my stomach while being on the amoxicillin?
I first went to the dentist three weeks ago and he prescribed me amoxicillin, which I took and the pain and swelling went away. I then went to the oral surgeon a week later for a consultation. He said I had bone loss near the wisdom tooth from the infection, which scared me. He told me to wait to take another dose of amoxicillin until the day before the extraction. My jaw is currently hurting right below the lower left wisdom tooth.
dentist found tooth #14 to be cracked opened with cavity. dentist then cleaned the tooth out and put a filling on it.two hours later after the numbness from the anesthetic wore of i had the worst pain in my life from the front of my scalp to by temples, behind my ear all the way to the back of my head. went to the ER was given darvocet which helped some until i got to the dentist the next morning . 10/6/06 route canal was done. the pain stopped replaced by soreness.
The pain lessened but was still noticeable since beginning the antibiotic (amoxicillin). This morning I woke up with the pain mostly gone from the tooth; however, my jaw is now swollen with what feels like a hard lump and is sensitive to being touched.
I am traveling for work and was wondering if I should seek emergency help.
He did say my sinus cavity is very close to that tooth and I could have some inflammation from my sinuses that is bothering the tooth. He called in amoxicillin for me. I just started it tonight. The tooth is killing me. I have never heard of sinuses causing issues with ONE tooth. Is that possible?
A few months ago, half of one of my upper premolars broke off after biting into a granola bar. I must have had a cavity on that tooth for a long time but never realized it. There was no discomfort when the tooth broke and since I don't have dental insurance, I put off having i looked at. My husband has had problems with a tooth for about 9 months. Just recently some pus drained from the tooth.
He has also had a low grade fever. I am wondering if a side effect from a long term abscessed tooth can be blood in his semen. A doctor put him on Amoxicillin 1500mg every 8 hours for 6 doses then 500mg every 8 hours for 14 days.

A week ago I had a severe pain on that tooth and I started taking Amoxicillin 500mg as my dentist prescribed in case of infection when he opened it to clean the roots.The next day the part next to my nose got swollen but the pain has gone.After 5 days on Amoxicillin the swell is not visible but I can feel it when I open my mouth. The thing that get me worried is that slight pressure feeling on my cheek and the upper eyelid.

Im 21 weeks pregnant and have an abscessed tooth. I went to the dentist on the 1st who sent me to an oral surgeon and percribed me 12 Tylenol #3 and amoxicillin. How long after starting amoxicillin before the pain from a tooth infection goes away? I saw the dentist and started taking amoxicillin about 30 hours ago. I have a root canal scheduled a week from now. But the pain is as intense as it was prior to starting the treatment. I do have type II diabetes treated with diet and pills. I know this can prolong infections. But wow, I sure would like the pain to decrease. I'm taking vicodin and it still hurts!

And yesterday I had to have a tooth pulled, (My teeth seem to be falling apart.) And the dentist gave me amoxicillin for the infection and tramadol for the pain. Both say should not be taken in cases of liver problems. I am taking only half the dose he prescribed of the pain medication, and will stop it as soon as the pain stops. But the amoxicillin should be completely taken, to clear up the infection. What should I do? I don't want to cause any more damage to my liver!
I pretty much been in extreme tooth pain and to add to that every time i take this i get pretty bad stomach pain i describe it as the empty feeling you have when you don't eat anything but x10, so i did some searching and i could not find anywhere saying 875mg every 8 hours i only saw every 12 hours. I just wanted to know if i should switch the hours and start taking it every 12 or just keeping going with every 8 hours whatever is the safest i guess.
He said the x-ray showed no infection in the tooth and no decay. He prescribed me amoxicillin (500 mg, 3x per day for 6 days, and a refill if necessary.
He said if the pain doesn't go away then I might need a root canal or have the tooth pulled anyway.
I'm skeptical and asking for advice here because I had a terrible root canal experience on the other side of my mouth about two months ago and the tooth ended up being pulled after a week of excruciating pain.
Ok, so like I went to the dentist last tuesday, he said i had a really deep, bad infection in a back, lower molar and put me on antibiotics(amoxicillin) and extracted the tooth the next day. I have also had a slightly swollen thyroid for about 4 weeks and my throat has felt kind of fiery and hot on and off and i've felt weak and tired on and off as well.
The dentist first prescribed amoxicillin for the infection. It has been over ten days, and I have pain and swelling in my lower cheek. Upon calling my dentist, I asked for a stronger antibotic (hence I have a tolerence of amoxicillin due to years of usage) he denied and let me know I needed to have tooth immediately extracted or the infection would spread. I do not have the funds currently this week to get it extracted. I have a prescription for amoxicillin that I have not used.
About two weeks ago I went to the dentist as I had terrible pain in my front tooth and gums. I was put on ponstan for pain and amoxicillin for the infection for five days. After the five days my tooth and gums felt fine but then a couple of days later the pain in my tooth flared up again. I'm afraid that my tooth may be infected and I will have to get root canal done which can be quite expensive. Is there anyone here that can confirm if the infection has spread to my tooth.

m fine with, but to add to dealing with the pain, the amoxicillin gave me a yeast infection! So here I am, 30 weeks pregnant, mouth still aching, and a yeast infection to top it all off. This has not been my week at all!
In my opinion, the tiredness is probably related to this persistent infection and the anitbiotic.
Are you following up with an ENT Specialist and/or an Allergist for this chronic/persistent sinus infection? This problem could also be allergy-related.
