Today I took my 15 month old son to one of his regular checkups. His doctor had noticed some fluid in his left ear and said he had a small infection. I told her he had a cold and some congestion but I didn't know about his ear. She prescribed him Amoxicillin for his ear and told me something about the dosage. All I remember her saying is something about 1 tsp.
I was on ear drops & amoxicillin for 20 days a month ago for a double ear infection. It's fine. My OB was the one who prescibed them.
So yesterday I went to the Dr for an ear infection and the Dr said it was pretty bad. He prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. He said it was safe but I am scared. I have called and left a message for my drs assistant. Waiting for a call back. Have any of you had to take this in this dossage?

8, the same night the pain was really strong to the point where it would only subside if I was putting pressure on it with an ice pack or hot water bottle, doctor confirmed I had a middle ear infection and prescribed me 5 days of amoxicillin. No medication other than infant paracetamol was given for the fever. This time also, for the past 10 days he has been passing stools 2,3 times daily, every time he takes his meals. But the consistency of the stool was normal. But today he has not passed stool at all. Also for the past two weeks, since 31st January 2014 he has been tugging at his ears at night but no major bout of crying occurred.
