Just started another antibotic 'Amoxicillin' for the sinus infection I do not feel but they can see it on exrays. Along with another pain pill to help my mouth from hurting.
I am being treated for a possible infection with amoxicillin. I have swollen upper gums on the right side. My cheek feels swollen, but doesn't look abnormal. I have no tooth pain. Last week I had a filling replaced and one other filling on the same quandrant (upper right). I have been on the antiobiotics plus paridex for 5 days, but I am not seeing much improvement. The swelling is worse in the morning upon waking.
I've had an ear and sinus infection for about two weeks. The doctor I went to gave me Amoxicillin, and I've been taking that for about a week, and I've got another weeks worth to take as well. and sure, that'd be fine, but I have this huge problem with it. There's this constant burn in the back of my throat, and whenever I breathe I can taste this awful, awful something. My breath doesn't smell bad, and there's nothing back there, but it's the worst taste I can imagine and it never goes away.
Okay so I have a gum infection around my wisdom tooth, pericoronitis. i've been on antibiotics, amoxicillin for 3 days now and not much has changed. my throat is starting to hurt so im scared the infection is spreading. i dont have dental insurance so i dont want to remove the tooth unless its the last resort. I want to get a operculectomy to remove the gums and hopefully it'll solve the infection. if it comes back, then i will really consider getting the tooth out.
Your dentist may need to try to clean her teeth for her or refer to a pediatric dentist for further evaluation.
I took him to the emergency room and they said it may be a reaction to a viral infection and prescribed amoxicillian for 10 days...It has been 6 days and still they are bleeding...What is wrong? He is too young for gum disease, right?
I had a cleaning and when they were checking my filling in #3 there was apparently a crack and I received an infection. I was put on Amoxicillin and a root canal was performed on June 23, two days later an incision was made in the gum to clean out some of the infection, the next day a small hole was made in the upper gum to try and drain some of the infection. On July 1st I was sent to an oral surgeon who did a panoramic of my face and there was infection the size of a walnut up into my sinus.
Recently i had a pain in tooth and went to the dentist and said that i had to remove a dead tooth but first i had to clear the infection. So he put me on Amoxicillin and after the second day on this medication i woke up to swelling of my cheek and gum. I read about the medication and it said that i might have a possible alergic reaction to it if it causes swelling. So i call my dentist and her puts me on Cephalexin, im guessing because i had an alergic reaction to penicillin.
4 days after Amoxicillin, pain came back. Started same way, sore Left side throat, red swollen gum around the tooth, hard white bump, ? Fistula - maybe a piece of bone, painful. Made appt w/ Oral Surg, Rx'd more Amoxicillin, which eventually helped swelling go down. At appt., did x-ray, not catscan. He did not see anything wrong. But, on physical exam of the wisdom tooth, thought he found crack in tooth, below gumline.
the "hole" is indeed an opening through the bne for your infection to drain. without it, you'd be quite swollen. Either the root canal has failed, there is a fracture in the tooth, or there is a periodontal prolem. Antibiotics may work short term, but this is in no way a permanent fix for this problem. I'fd see another dentist for a new opinion on the problem.
The gum over the tooth has been cut off but the pain which started occuring after the gum flap was cut off is still there around the gum that surrounds my tooth and the ear which has been reducing.would there be possibilty of an infection or should i get my tooth extracted to avoid any further complications.I have been prescribed amoxicillin as well but i havent finished the entire dose.would the pain be gone eventually after the amoxicillin or should the tooth be extracted.please advise me.
So I had Strep Throat over the weekend. Seen my doctor and he put me on Amoxicillin. My strep cleared up for the most part (the white crap all over my throat). Throat is still sore and have ulcers in a few places around my mouth. Not to worried about that, what does worry me is now my gums are killing me. I cannot even tough them with a brush. No blood as of yet from them. Is this the last of the infection retreating?
Also on same day crown was fitted pt had two moles removed w subsequent skin infection at removal sites (swelling, redness, pus) resolved after about 1-2 wks. Antibiotic was RX by primary care physician for sinus infection only; also during this time both of the pain medications listed above were RX (along w OTC ibuprofen). Pt had been on all other meds for over 1 month. * crown was made and fitted in one visit w new technology CEREC®3D WHAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THIS ACUTE gum SWELLING?
I forgot to mention I am on amoxicillin 500 mg every 6hrs also. so I wouldn't think there would be infection? I asked dr if I could get a dry socket with this surgery, he said no? just not sure if its healing or why its more sore...it comes and goes also...sometimes its very strong for awhile and sometimes its not quite as strong :( and its just the left side of my cheek which is where my gums were operated on? aghh its just so painful. inormally have a high pain tolerance too...except for now.
Hello, So now that the pain (after taking tylenol) is worse in either my gum or tooth what should I do? I've felt with this for a few days but tonight its hurting to the extreme. I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant.
I was put on Amoxicillin for 7 days (500 mg every 6 hours) to get rid of the infection, and went in yesterday for my root canal. I told the endodontist performing my procedure that it didn't feel like the infection was completely gone even though I finished my antibiotics. He told me that wasn't a problem and went ahead with my root canal. He sealed it up with a temporary filling and I have to go back in a week for the permenant composite filling.
Dear Sir, I have an infection in my gum. It started a couple of days ago and I went straight to the dentist. After two xrays, the dentist told me that it was an infection that has started in the root canal of a tooth that I had removed over 25 years ago and had it replaced with a cap (I think that is what they are called) I have never had any trouble with this tooth at all.
He wanted me to wait and see if the swelling resided. Now, I developed a sinus infection and bronchitis (It's going around)A few days into my cold, my cheek swelled up like it did 5 weeks ago, and also developed a cold sore on that side. So I went to a Doctor on Friday, who said I have sinusitis and bronchitis, plus he said my lower right gums were obviously infected to him. He put me on Amoxicillin and told me to contact my dentist on Monday.
The antibiotics do take a little while to remove/clean the infection. It would probably take about 3 or more days for the infection to start clearing up. But the main cause of the pain is probably the nerve which needs to be removed. The treatment of a root canal takes care of that. Hope that helps some and hope you both feel better.
the implant was very very close to my tooth #9. because the suture not removed, my gum got some infection or inflamation on tooth #10. That infection spread to #9. yesterday, I suddenly found that my tooth#9 become loose, and when I gently tap the surface of my tooth, the whole tooth feel very sensitive. I saw my dentist on Tue, she is a periodontist but just graduated from school not long ago. She still thougt everything is ok, and my tooth #9 was loose before the surgery.
Most likely. Amoxicillin is a great antibiotic for an oral infection and usually works. Of course, there are times when the bacteria may be more resistant to it but most likely it'll help.
Amoxicillin Dosages for Children Amoxicillin belongs to a class of antibiotics called penicillins, which stop the growth of specific bacteria. The doctor told me it was most likely an abscess and wrote me a prescription for 250 mg of Amoxicillin (3x a day) and told me to get to a dentist the next day because she assumed they were going to want to lance/drain the infection. I was able to see a dentist today and after an x-ray he determined extraction would be the best option for me since the decay extends under the bone.
I was placed on Flagyl first, followed by clindamycin. Also in the mix of everything I had a gum infection and was given amoxicillin, which I stopped taking due to getting a yeast infection from it (treated successfully with monistat). Everything considered I’ve had an entire pharmacy prescribed to me. During the week that I was waiting for my boyfriend’s retest, I noticed some yellow discharge. I felt for sure he would test positive again, but felt relieved when he came back fine.
Also the sinus infection caused very watery orange discharge from the sinus cavities and flow when I bent my head down. I had a sinus infection and gum infection at the same time. I took Amoxicillin for a week and it all cleared up.
i went to the dentist and he prescribe me some antibiotics such as amoxicillin and ibuprofen and help with the infection and pain. i've been taking it for 4 days now and the infection is still there. the ibuprofen does help with the pain. yesterday, my throat started to hurt pretty badly and i was scared that this meant the infection was spreading. but the pain come and goes. im hoping to just get that tooth extracted but i dont know the cost for just one tooth? i think its impacted.
Then since my dose of pian meds went down I felt pain in my mouth, and found it to be a tooth and gum abscess, My stomach cramps tooth gum area infected. Went to DDS gave me amoxicillin. I have stomach cramps but my tooth and gum abscess seems to be getting better. Is this normal the stomach cramps ...I did ingest the infection from my mouth....I am thinking the amoxicillin will clear it all up soon its only been 65 hours been taking the amoxicilin... Thx........
1 month later, excruciating pain, face swelling. Informed by Dentist, root canal required, but first 1 week of Amoxicillin to cure infection. infection appeared to be clear, with no adverse affects from antibiotic. Dentist started root canal, but did not complete. Placed medication in cleaned out tooth, and refilled. Prescribed another round of amoxicillan and Vicoden for pain. Started the Amox again, and took a total of 2 1/2 500 mg Vicoden within a two day period.
I'm going to see my dentist in just over 24 hours, but I am panicking as have read all the horror stories onlne about the infection potentially spreading to the neck and brain. Why would the infection be spreading despite a week on antibiotics (recently really strong ones)? Many thanks in advance. Could really do with some advice.
My first thought was- what the heck is going on- I have this bad sinus infection , on meds for that for 20 days- it never goes away- was told to take celexa- (which I took at the same time as the anti-biotic)- and then started having attacks, tingling in my fingers and toes, and then I am being sent to a pyschologists? for anxiety or panic disorder.??? I really hope you get better and I did go to chiropractor ( I have not been in a few months though)...maybe I should go back for a visit.
