Avatar_n_tn I was prescribed amoxicillin and I have asked my dr. and they said it was totally safe. I am 18 weeks pregnant and I was prescribed amoxicillin for a sinus infection. It is safe!!!!
Avatar_n_tn I was diagnosed with a UTI, then given amoxicillin to help. I have been taking the prescription for four days. yesterday I noticed that I had white lines on the back of my throat, and discomfort. one side effect is irritation of the throat and mouth. could this be what I am experiencing? I was told that it could be strep, but since I am taking amoxicillin, I wouldn't get strep. also, the lines aren't on my tonsils.

255722_tn?1452550141 thing, and I could use some advice. I have always had problems with amoxicillin and yeast infections. And, I can't tolerate doxy, so the doctor put me on amoxycillin (900mg 2x/day) and I'm supposed to add probenecid (a drug that increases orally taken amox levels in the blood to nearly intravenous levels) starting next week. Here's the deal--the yeast infection started three days ago--ugh.

280418_tn?1306329510 with my LLMD and he said that he has treated 30 pregnancies and 0 babies tested positive with cord blood PCR after birth. I am to take Amoxicillin and Zith starting in my second trimester thru my third. I hope my OB doesn't freak, although he said he's had none that did. So, I'll have my baby tested via cord blood PCR as well. Wish me luck!
Avatar_f_tn I took amoxicillian while pregnant, had checked with the pharmascist first and was told it was fine. Super sally is right, don't ignore the infection, it needs to be dealt with. I am not sure about penicillian, but I know for certain amoxicillian is fine. Just ask that pharmascist, they are the experts on drugs. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
Avatar_n_tn My pregnant ***** got into a fight, I'm concerned about infection in both her and the babies. What antibiotic is safe for a pregnant female? She's early in her pregnancy about 26 days.
Avatar_f_tn Also not all uti's will present symptoms but can be dangerous to yourself and babies health. That's why at every ob visit they test your urine for one. Antibiotics are very low risk during pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I was on them 6 times.
Avatar_f_tn I'm 8 weeks pregnant and got strep throat for the 4th time since finding out I'm pregnant. I woke up this morning with a sore throat and by tonight there was white spots all over my tonsils. I woke up an hour ago and now they are totally covered in that yucky white stuff. I've been given amoxicillin 500 every time and it works, and I take the full round till they are gone. A week or so after they are gone it comes back..
Avatar_f_tn I'm now symptom free and trying to conceive baby number 2 whilst I feel well as I know I could relapse in the future . I'm on amoxicillin now and will remain on it through ought the pregnancy as my doc says bacteria may still be in my blood and transmit to the baby . Anyways my q is this ... I've been on amoxicillin in the past , some times short courses when my lyme was active .... I'm scared that the lyme May have become resistant to the amoxicillin as I've been on it before ?
10717578_tn?1424831829 My midwife from baby number 1 told me it was to do with our bodies preparing for our babies. Look after yourself. I just had a nasty cold and manged to keep on it with basic pain killers, sucking on boiled butterscotch lollies, sucking on dark chocolate for my cough (it works), lemon hunny drinks and rest. All the best. I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar_f_tn I've also recommended taking magnesium to several other people, and they've told me it worked well for them too, very soothing. (One reason babies get all floppy after nursing or getting a bottle of milk is that their stomachs are full and warm, but also because of the magnesium in the milk.) I know you're having a hard time, but hang on, and see the baby's doc about your post above. You are handling a lot, so just know that we're sending all good thoughts and wishes.
Avatar_f_tn The reason for my question is because I have to take a very high dose of amoxicillin prior to dental work do to a congenital heart defect and it happens to be time for some dental work and I'm just about 22 weeks pregnant. My obgyn, says it's not genetic to be allergic and its probably just a fluke so many in his family are, my pcp says the babies chances are higher due to my husband's allergy.
Avatar_n_tn I know it can't be good being on antibiotics all the time! I'm taking amoxicillin. They work the best for me and any antibiotic that I take when I have another infection it takes 10 days before I even feel better! If you have any suggestions that could help please let me know!
1300874_tn?1277520827 Thanks for responding to my post... I actually have been tested and a mutation that was shown was a prothrombin gene mutation--- I don't know how it actually affects the body, but the doc said that it probably wouldn't be the cause of miscarriages...
Avatar_f_tn My six month old has RSV! He was tested positive for it two days ago. He is not eating much at all and on amoxicillin. His fever is gone now but he is still breathing fast and still very raspy! The hospital told me that RSV would not affect his appetite it was because his nose was stuffed up???? How long does it usually take for his breathing to get better?? I always thought that most babies with RSV were hospitalized. Isnt there something else they could give him to improve his breathing.
Avatar_n_tn For now she is on amoxicillin 2x daily. We were instructed to bring her back to the vets for xrays in 21days if she continues to get bigger and it becomes apparent that she is pregnant. I am not a backyard breeder, I have much experience with bulldogs and am aware of the health complications/birthing complications that can occur. This issue just stumps me...
2020005_tn?1417986816 You sound like you are very sure of its danger but Ive read other posts where woman took it pregnant and their babies were fine. What makes you sure its so bad? Just for my own knowledge.
Avatar_m_tn As you know I am suffering this for almost 2 years now. This appeared out of the blue in June 2012 (I say out of the blue because I don't take drugs, don't smoke, don't have diabetes, didn't have chemotherapy, and didn't take medicines for long periods of time -besides 1 week of cyprofloxacin in March 2012).
72351_tn?1281996142 I cleaned it with peroxide, put some triple antibiotic ointment on and promptly started the kitten on Amoxicillin. My question is, I also have on hand Clindamycin which is what we normally use to treat abscesses and such but am fearful to give to the kitten since it is only apx 3-31/2 weeks old. I was just wondering how old do kitties have to be to use Clindamycin. TYVM for your help!
Avatar_f_tn Amoxicillin is the right thing for a pregnant woman with Lyme. You cannot take Doxycycline when pregnant. I have heard many good stories of kids who got Lyme in utero who are doing great with antibiotics. Treatment makes all the difference. Planning to do the cord blood test is very wise. But if the baby tests negative, there is still a chance of infection. If s/he tests positive, then s/he will need amoxicillin. I have no idea for how long...are you aware of Dr. Jones in Connecticut?
