Avatar n tn If you suspect an upper respiratory infection, please take your fur baby to a vet. If this amoxicillin or ciproflaxin is human medication, do not give this to your cat as this is made for human consumption not for cats. Take your cat to a vet to be properly diagnosed and treated. Under no circumstances should you ever use human prescription meds on a cat.
Avatar f tn Today I took my 15 month old son to one of his regular checkups. His doctor had noticed some fluid in his left ear and said he had a small infection. I told her he had a cold and some congestion but I didn't know about his ear. She prescribed him Amoxicillin for his ear and told me something about the dosage. All I remember her saying is something about 1 tsp.
Avatar n tn Amoxicillin is fine if it's the correct antibiotic. Dental infections can be from either an aerobic bacteria or anaerobic bacteria. Having the correct antibiotic is VERY important. I urge you to at least call your dentist for approval before you treat a dental abscess yourself. Amoxicillin may be fine, but you may need something like clindamycin instead. Also, it's very important that a FULL dose is taken for dental infections.
Avatar f tn I had a terrible upper respiratory infection a couple of weeks ago and my OB prescribed amoxicillin. He told me it was perfectly safe to take. Hope you get to feeling better!!
Avatar n tn coli or salmonella infection. Amoxicillin is also sometimes used together with another antibiotic called clarithromycin to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. This combination is sometimes used with a stomach acid reducer called lansoprazole. Since you havent mentioned what caused this food poisoning and other relevant information, its difficult to suggest a medicine. I ll just say, There are better medicines for food poisoning.
Avatar n tn Hi there, Amoxicillin in the preferred antibiotic in dental infections. The usual adult dosage is 500 mg given every 6-8 hrly. The dosage may be increased or decreased depending on the severity of infection. If you are having a dental infection or cavity it is best to get it treated by a root canal before the problem aggravates. See a dentist. Take care and regards!
Avatar f tn For some reason I get an ear infection with every pregnancy, lol. I have taken this with all 3 so far and have 3 perfectly healthy kids. This is #4 and I haven't had one yet but I still have 12 weeks left to change that, lol.
Avatar f tn Kitten was abandon eats solid food is showing signs of upper respiratory infection. She is eating a drinking and playing. Sleeps a lot. How much ml of amoxicillin should I give and for how long?
12275041 tn?1435515465 Two weeks ago I went to the doctor which they diagnosed me with an upper respiratory infection and prescribed amoxicillin and sudafed. Friday I finished the amoxicillin and I feel so much better. Come Saturday all of my symptoms of coughing, congestion, and not being able to sleep or breathe at night return and now I am coughing so bad it gets to the point where I start puking.
Avatar n tn A child who takes 5 ml of the 250mg/5ml dose, for example, is receiving 250 mg of amoxicillin. The recommended pediatric dosage varies from 25 mg/kg per day to 45 mg/kg per day, depending on the underlying infection, according to Rx List. The suspension should be shaken well and measured with a marked measuring spoon to ensure that the right dose is given. Regular silverware should not be used to measure medication doses, warns Drugs.com.
Avatar n tn First of all let me state that I am taking my 4 year old pug to see another specialist next week. But in the meantime I was wondering if any of you might have ideas about what is going on. Back in July he began having severe bouts of reverse sneezing, sneezing thick mucus (from opaque, to yellow, to greenish), and occasional gagging. He's seen 3 vets, taken amoxicillin and one other antibiotic that was apparently for resistant strains of respiratory issues. None of these helped.
Avatar n tn In my opinion, the tiredness is probably related to this persistent infection and the anitbiotic. Are you following up with an ENT Specialist and/or an Allergist for this chronic/persistent sinus infection? This problem could also be allergy-related.
Avatar m tn Dentists do not play around when knocking out an infection. And Amoxicillin is very commonly used at higher doses now (due to resistance). The clavulanate doesn't go up, just the amoxicillin). Check in with your doctor and report your stomach issue but in general, try the full glass of water and food. It most often does solve the problem of this particular compound.
Avatar n tn Hi - I have a sore gland on the right side of my neck. If i turn my head to the left,i can hear a "shoosh" noise in my left ear. The gland in my neck will ache & thump under my right ear It makes me feel moody & or alter my sense of where i am,if that makes sense? My left arm is a bit weak & if i yawn,i feel a nausia feeling and the gland in my neck will ache. I also feel short of breath a bit. I assumed it was a possible respiratory or sinus infection.
Avatar f tn This is the usual drug I use to treat abscess-type infections and I want to make sure the interior infection clears up. Is there a good alternative to amoxicillin for this type of infection?
Avatar f tn You might ask your doctor for a broad-spectrum antibiotic, also known as a 'z-pack': this usually takes care of nearly everything in just a few days.
Avatar n tn Do you have any idea about the right antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection? However, if I DO NOT see an improvment within the next couple of days....I will be taking him to the vet. He is eating and acting completly normal. still playing all the time. you would not be able to tell he was sick if you couldn't here him. Thank you sooo much for your reply!!!!
1840402 tn?1355432565 hi all, ive been on penicillin for tonsillitis for afew days just finished course now i have a bad urine infection now docs have prescribed amoxicillin, im so against taking tablets for my babys health but im in agony, what should i do??
Avatar n tn I would think that it could be caused by her having difficulty breathing due to the respiratory infection. Lying down can change the effect of any kind of breathing difficulty, often making it more difficult and labored. If the tic keeps up, especially after her breathing is cleared up, then I would definitely take her to the vet and have him check her.
Avatar n tn I was on 875 mg of amoxicillin for respritory infection then the day i finished that I was given levaquin for a sinus infection I got while I was on the amoxicillin and now I have an ear infection with discharge and bleeding and the sinus infection is not gone? Is it possible to get all these infections one right after the other while on these anibiotics?
Avatar f tn So my LLMD has me on the following medications: Amoxicillin, Clindamycin, and Capadex (for my stomach problems). My dosage of the antibiotics are very high and I will be taking it for about 2 months. He believes I may H pyelori as well as Lymes because of my reoccurring ulcers. I am getting a more sensitive test for h Pyelori as well. I am also taking or about to Amrix for muscle pain. Has anyone taken this?
12629092 tn?1426354227 t take care of him anymore and noticed he has a terrible upper respiratory infection. Apparently it has been an ongoing and untreated problem for years. He has all the classic symptoms of an infection with green mucous in the nasil passages, phlegmy cough and occasional drainage from the eyes. I was passing through a local hardware store that carries farm supplies and noticed antibiotics on the shelves. I don't have the money to bring Ziggy to the vet.
Avatar f tn It sounds like a sinus infection. It won't hurt your baby as long as you don't have a high fever. Drink plenty of water. That helps to flush the mucus.
9525685 tn?1410800512 Anyone else get proscribed amoxicillin 875mg while pregnant went to patient first for an infected dermo pricing they removed it and proscribed me amoxicillin 875mg I'm a little concerned because they aren't my normal doctors off course i can't contact my obgyn until morning any on taken these while pregnant and baby's fine?
Avatar f tn I just got done with a prescription for 875 mg of amoxicillin twice a day for 10 days. Will that cure chlamydia and gonorrhea??
Avatar m tn We got him back in December and I recall now that we took him in knowing that he might possibly have kennel flu. They told us it may go away by itself. His other symptoms are gone such as red eyes, however the sneezing remains. I also believe the medicine was in fact Clavamox. I don't recall the vet telling us what type of respiratory infection he has, sorry. However, I'll definitely be taking him to the vet this week knowing theres nothing OTC I can get. Thanks for the help!
Avatar f tn Hello, are you sure you are taking the right dosage of amoxicillin and it's frequency? Infections may re-occur if the correct dosage and frequency is not followed. Try to visit again your dentist to have a right assessment of the situation.
