I just got done with a prescription for 875 mg of amoxicillin twice a day for 10 days. Will that cure chlamydia and gonorrhea??
So yesterday I went to the Dr for an ear infection and the Dr said it was pretty bad. He prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. He said it was safe but I am scared. I have called and left a message for my drs assistant. Waiting for a call back. Have any of you had to take this in this dossage?

Amoxicillin in the preferred antibiotic in dental infections. The usual adult dosage is 500 mg given every 6-8 hrly.The dosage may be increased or decreased depending on the severity of infection. If you are having a dental infection or cavity it is best to get it treated by a root canal before the problem aggravates. See a dentist.

I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. The Dentist put me on amoxicillin 875mg twice a day, after 6 days I called him as it was having no effect. he then put me on clyndamycin 300mg twice a day, this is day two, it seemed better this morning and by this afternoon it isswelling slightly the tissue above my tooth is spongie again and I can tell it's filling with pus.
Today I took my 15 month old son to one of his regular checkups. His doctor had noticed some fluid in his left ear and said he had a small infection. I told her he had a cold and some congestion but I didn't know about his ear. She prescribed him Amoxicillin for his ear and told me something about the dosage. All I remember her saying is something about 1 tsp.

I pretty much been in extreme tooth pain and to add to that every time i take this i get pretty bad stomach pain i describe it as the empty feeling you have when you don't eat anything but x10, so i did some searching and i could not find anywhere saying 875mg every 8 hours i only saw every 12 hours.
You might ask your doctor for a broad-spectrum antibiotic, also known as a 'z-pack': this usually takes care of nearly everything in just a few days.
hi, I am just curious what dosage of amoxicillin you have to take - I have been putting - off taking mine - still a part of me in denial of lyme - among other things - I had a yukkie time on doxy. - but have taken amox. in the past - for chest infection - with no bad effects.
I have been able to clear and heal the wound and have been dosing him with amoxicillin. He seems to have an allergy to this antibiotic as I have discovered hes been throwing up in the basement. This is the usual drug I use to treat abscess-type infections and I want to make sure the interior infection clears up. Is there a good alternative to amoxicillin for this type of infection?

Corticosteroids can lead to several side effects including a sense of fogginess (and in others a sense of euphoria/insomnia), typically high rather than low blood pressure, and other side effects (even one dose of high doses of steroids can lead to acute confusion in older adults). Sometimes, when an infection is occuring, and a medication is started for it, it is difficult to tell what is from the medication and what is from the infection itself.
When I was on the amoxicillin it was a 10 day dosage and I took it all. Also, the augmentin was a 10 day dosage. I am still having a lot of pain and can't figure out what's going on. :(

Hi, welcome to the forum, amoxicillin allergy is known entity but in her case it is other than allergy. In some individuals, amoxicillin is known to cause thrombocytopenia, prolongation of bleeding time, hemolytic anemia. One thing also needed to be ruled out is bleeding diasthesis.
She needs to undergo complete blood counts, Prothrombin time, bleeding time etc. In 50 % patients cause remains unknown. This condition can be managed by discontinuing the drug and go for other alternatives.
In my opinion, the tiredness is probably related to this persistent infection and the anitbiotic.
Are you following up with an ENT Specialist and/or an Allergist for this chronic/persistent sinus infection? This problem could also be allergy-related.
The drug I’m referring to is specifically Ritalin not Ritalin SR (sustained release). Ritalin is made in 5, 10 or 20 mg tablets. This question involve the dosage Ritalin is prescribed. I’ve read that the average dosage for adults is 30 mg/day. I’m a 25 year old male. I weigh 220 lbs. and am 5’11”. The only other medication I’m on is 100 mg of Zoloft/day for the treatment of depression. I have no prior medical issues.
s too rare in adults to have many people collected in one place. But, we understand all of what you suffer.
And we have tons of people with other MS mimics. I think it is important to have these other people here, not only because they are a gas, but because we all need to remember that every that looks like MS isn't MS.
