I’m late answering this but i was diagnosed with strep even though i suspected mono but the doctor put me on amoxicillin anyways. I had taken seven days of amoxicillin feeling the sickest i had ever felt but developed no rash so the doctor didn’t worry. After 7 days of being on amoxicillin my throat finally felt better and i did not feel sick anymore. I went to sleep that night and woke up at 5am itching and had developed a full body rash over night.
This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth.
Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary.
If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.
I had sinus infection and got Amoxicillin for it. Had diarrhea, then a rash all over stomach, back, thighs, then yeast infection. I stopped taking the Amoxicillin and the doctor told my husband I was allergic to Penicillin.

An allergic reaction to amoxicillin (and then all penicillin based meds would be included) is sudden and intense and can quickly become life threatening.
Rash is listed as a side effect to this antibiotic. Call the doctor but it is highly unlikely that it is an allergic reaction but a side effect. And it doesn't mean your child will get it every time they take amoxicillin or drugs of the penicillin class. good luck!!

After taking 3 doses of the amoxicillin she broke out in Hives on her hands, legs, and feet. She was taken off the amoxicillin but the rash has now continued for a week now. It will appear and last about 5 minutes and then it is gone. It almost looks like blisters coming up on her feet. I took her to the doctor again today (1 week later) and they told me that she has erytherma multiforme caused from the amoxicillin.

Week before diagnosis, was on amoxicillin for suspected strep. Cue a terrible full body rash that appeared yesterday as a result of taking the amoxicillin while mono positive. I understand it will eventually go away, but I was wondering how long that might be and if there is any way to lessen the severity of both the itchiness/burning as well as the appearance. For over the past two weeks, I have had a flat, red rash that appears like a sunburn on my face and particulary the neck. When I am in the sun or heat, it increases in itchiness and burning. A few days before the rash started, I had finished my second five-day course of 750mg Amoxicillin for dental work. Also, a few days (3 or 4) before the rash started, I had a very brief (3 seconds or so) unprotected oral sex exposure of which I was the recipient (I am male, received from female).
That night, my son complained of severe itchiness and rash looked almost like hives on his feet, and redness on legs. I gave him Benadryl and it improved a bit. Next Sat we returned to dr. His lips were dry and chapped. Dr. mentioned atypical Kawasaki as a remote possibility. Wasn't sure if he was a little dehydrated. We went for labwork.
His last fever was 4am Sunday. Mon. afternoon recd lab results.

It is now Saturday, my daughter was diagnosed with strep throat Wednesday night and started amoxicillin in the urgent care, Friday afternoon she broke out in a itchy rash...mostly on her torso but some on her legs, neck, and arms. if I have never had a blister rash like this before and the day after I take Amoxicillin and I get a severe blister rash all over my body... it therefore must be a very bad allergic reaction to the Amox.

So, I've had mono for over a month now. I originally got a reaction from being prescribed amoxicillin but that was just the first week. About over a week ago, I ended up getting another rash.
