Avatar_n_tn I was given amoxicillin 4 days ago for a sinus infection and sinus pressure and she said my throat looked fine. Now, after consistently taking the medication my throat is sore to the point of not being able to swallow, the right side of my neck is swollen from my lymph nodes and painful to the touch or even turning my head, and it's even made my jaw/mouth/cheek start tingling and feeling slightly numb. What the heck is going on?
Avatar_n_tn My 15 month old sone has had 2 ear infections and the first time we gave him amoxicillin and nothing happened. Then just 2 weeks ago he had another ear infection so he got amoxicillin again and within six dasy of being on it he broke out in a rash that was all over his body and it looked like welts. So we took him to the emergency room just this past saturday and he said it was an allergic reaction to amoxicillin.
Avatar_m_tn He put me on antibiotics, I cant remember all of there names but one was amoxicillin, then a red and grey capsule and a small little round yellow one. Also some injections intermuscularly. The secretions were gone. But the back of my tongue has the white looking and when I go to bed and get up in the morning the rest of my tongue gets it except for the tip and underneath and my mouth feels dry. I use a tongue scrubber to help. However the rest of my oral cavity is fine, no whitening or not.
Avatar_f_tn I don't notice any herx patterns, my symptoms seem to come and go with no warning. I started amoxicillin about two weeks ago, and started feeling better within the week, but then about 10 days later, the more annoying symptoms returned. Anyone know if you can herx 10 days after a change of meds? I thought it would happen within the first couple vs. almost two weeks later. Any feedback or similar experiences would be appreciated.
Avatar_f_tn I went to a medical doctor and they diagnosed him with sinusitis and gastroitis. They prescribed amoxicillin and zantac (morning and night). He continues to burp after eating bland food. I've cut out any milk, fried, chocolate, etc and have kept to a bland diet. He continues to have diarhea, burp, stomach cramps and headaches. This has been going on for the past 4 years during the same time frame.
Avatar_n_tn They put her on cortisone creams, a new antibiotic and ear drops and she got better but she still has little rashes in the same spots that come and go daily. I am still on the vicodin and the neurontin, which the doctor told me was alright, while I am waiting for the nuerontin to work.
Avatar_n_tn So eventually, I went to the doctor who gave me pills named Starclav 500 (which i found out was amoxicillin and clavunic acid). I took the pills for three days, which made the symptoms go away. After that I seemed to be alright and was back home by mid Jan. Mid Feb 2010, I have had some strange discomfort below jaw (what seemed like a swollen lymph node), went to check neck lymph nodes no problem. Went ENT doctor told him about Thailand, and swollen gland on the right side.

Avatar_f_tn I am surprised that the dr. Would say that h pylori wouldn't cause heartburn and pain . When I had it, that aw my main symptom! Quoted from webmd "When H. pylori does cause symptoms, they are usually either symptoms of gastritis or peptic ulcer disease. The most common symptom of peptic ulcer disease is gnawing or burning abdominal pain, usually in the area just beneath the ribs.
Avatar_f_tn ) if I don't eat immediately. I run into the kitchen and drink milk and eat oatmeal, peanut butter toast, etc. Sometimes eating makes the pain go away for for maybe an hour, but then the pain starts again, and sometimes eating doesn't make the pain go away at all. I can't sleep through the night. I wake up about every 1 to 2 hours with the pain, pounding heart, dizziness and sweating. I eat a granola bar and fall back asleep for a bit until I wake up with the same thing again.
Avatar_f_tn I try to limit my dairy intake BUT WOMEN NEED CALCIUM. My family has a history of osteoporosis so I take these vitamins and use rice milk. -I have found the easiest types of food to make for my diet are Thai, Japanese, Mexican (if I make it not take out), and fresh American style stuff like lemon, dill chicken with jasmine rice and veggies. (Fresh squeezed Lemon does wonders for flavoring foods.
755322_tn?1330272714 ) It doesn't cost much more than regular milk, and I'm with you about all the hormones and garbage the milk cows are stuffed with these days. I get the milk at a big chain grocery store, about $4 a half gallon for the fancy-dancy type. Two measuring cups a day of the milk gives me 100% calcium MDR. I've recently also upped my magnesium intake ... I've been reading that the ratio of calcium to magnesium is out of whack in the usual US approach ...
Avatar_f_tn Some antibiotics are contraindicated while pregnant. My doctor prescribes amoxicillin if a patient has Lyme and is pregnant.
Avatar_f_tn It did not help my nose either. I am currently taking amoxicillin and Flagyl for the condition the prednisone helped flare up on me. These antibiotics don't seem to be having any effect on the nose either. I was supposed to go back to the ENT this week but was to sick from the other condition to go. I will reschedule. His recommendation next will be to have CT scan. Probably to rule out a tumor. At my original appt.

Avatar_m_tn I was back to the doctor and he prescribed a greater dose of amoxicillin and advised me to finish it, which I did this time. Great, no symptoms for the last week. A couple of days ago however, the symptoms started again, and yet again, only at night. I went to bed with the annoying banging and awoke to it, only for it to go away during the day.
Avatar_n_tn A day or so later the symptoms vanished! I have a milk allergy (but can usually tolerate dairy) and suspect that I also have a corn allergy, given the incident just cited. Yet, I often eat popcorn without a problem. Tonight, I realized that my current symptoms were coincidental with taking Caltrate chewables which contain corn syrup. There was also some moldy food in my fridge ( I'm very mold sensitive), but I cleaned out the fridge thoroughly with Clorox.
Avatar_f_tn Many docs think they know what to do, but often do not. About treating with amoxicillin alone, I don't know, and that's where a Lyme specialist would come in. Don't delay! Baby's on the way!

It feels liek someone is stabbing a knife into me. The first two times it happened it was bareable but still hurt like a mother. It happened on time when i sneezed and happened one time when i jumped off a step to the ground. It was only like a 2 foot drop though but that really hurt. This last time it happened i was driving and it was the worst yet.
Avatar_f_tn I have a barn full of cats who lap up all the spilled milk every day when we milk the cows....and they are all very healthy and alive. As for the antibiotics....you need them now for her. Go to the 'human doctor' and get some amoxicillin which is safe for cats. It's pink and comes in liquid form and very easy give. Every doctor, including vets, carry this type of antibiotic on hand 24/7. But if you cant find any, I can send you a supply.
5011734_tn?1362322573 I am still blocked up, but as it started to spread down my respirtory tract (lost my voice and felt gurgly when breathing in and out) I decided to go to the out of hours doctor yesterday and now have amoxicillin (some people are allergic to amoxicillin). Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Avatar_m_tn Prior to this she has had numerous ear infections with PE tubes and still more infections, Numerou courses of antibiotics including omnicef, amoxicillin, amoxicillin with clavulanic acid. and most of the time her ear infections are still persistent. We met my daugter at the ER as we just dropped her off. The week prior (New Years Eve) we were in the ER with her, she had a soaring temperture of 104.4 and vomiting spells every 10 minutes or so for several hours.
Avatar_m_tn I have had fever for the last three months - have had a regiment of amoxicillin, blood work and everything is normal. Only when my temp is taking by ear it reveals fever. Tylenol and ibuprofen was helping, however it is no longer helping.
405614_tn?1329147714 Thus the swelling and pain, pain, pain. So, I'll be taking amoxicillin 3 times a day for 9 days, and on next Monday I'm under orders to take 100 mg. of Tegretol (relax nerves) and 10 mg. of valium at 7 am. My appointment is at 8 am, and should take around 3 hours to do both teeth. I'll hang out there until my friend can pick me up. My dentist said she could just through a blanket over me and let me sleep off the meds, lol! I promised I wouldn't snore.
