I have a kidney infection and in on keflex anti biotic. If they prescribed anti biotic its BC its important, kidney infection can cause pre term labor and it was complicating my pregnancy. I'm 21 weeks out of my first trimester though, if u were really worried u can call you're dr and ask about the risks.

I just read your question about the possible allergic reaction to Keflex. I had previously taken Keflex for mononucleosis at the age of 18 and and other things during my early 20's and never had a problem. A few years later when i was 28 I took it again. I had a terrible reaction. I had very large raised hives that started on the tops of my thighs, inside my arms and up my neck. My eyes were swollen and breathing became a task. I double dosed benendryl and went to ER.

My bf was diagnosed with ngu and I want to know is taking one of the following ok for treatment .....bactrim ,keflex, or amoxicillin? The reason for this question is he won't be able to make it to the doctors for the z pack this week but he has these antibiotics available. And if so what would his dosage length of treatment be ?

Bad day today. More sore and upset stomach, add that to worse dry mouth and throat issues and again producing phlegm. Called the dic who wants me to try and stay on this med. every 6 hours is a problem. Makes me sucker having to get up at 5:30 Am to take a pill and drink a full glass of water. Never this miserable after a root canal before. He said the infection is probably in the bone. Anyone else have these issues? I asked for maybe Keflex but he said this med is better. 7 days of this!!

Erythromycin, Tetracycline,penicillin ,amoxicillin , introveinous ancef, keflex, etc. I suffer from itchy anus, eyes, flaky scalp, tingling / itch in right foot and my wife seems to always have a yeast infection. I had a UTI earlier in this pregnancy and they gave me something called Keflex, it cleared me up and I had no side effects. I'm deathly allergic to penicillin so I couldn't have that, but I would definitely go directly to OB as they are specifically trained in the area of prenatal care.

I talked to the pharmacist and they said with my resistance to macrodatin (not sure of spelling) cipro and levaquin and allergy to penicillin, ceftin, and now batrium, not sure what they can do for me :o I can take Keflex but I'm reading that is most likely not to effective in treating UTI's. I'm sure fear is not helping my UTI sensations. How big of trouble may I be in concerning this situation? What can they do? Any input would be grateful.

Oh gosh, i took keflex and broke out in lesions all over my hands and feet which are bursted blood vessels which when that happens you have like 8 days to live, they put me on steroids after that and told me to just drink a whole lot of cranberry juice and water so u did and i also took cranberry supplements and that got rid if my uti..

They diagnosed him with an infected lymph node and cellulitis and put him on Keflex for 10 days. He had a fever for 8 days straight he still has a swollen lymph node. On day 7 of the antibiotics he developed severe itching almost uncontrollable which lasted for 3 days. He is finally a febrile but this morning woke up with a painful swollen knee. I am an English women living in India. I had urine test and indicated few bacteria present so got antibiotic amoxicillin and doxicillin. The symptoms cleared quickly (although not 100%). However the day after I stopped taking the antibiotic they came back.I was in a rural area at the time and couldnt get correct test so a doctor gave me ampillin and cloxicllin to tide me over. Again some but not full relief.

I recently had a UTI and was prescribed keflex for that, and my symptoms of dizziness, tinnitus, ear popping, to seemed to get better. I finished the keflex a couple of weeks ago and my ear symptoms seem to b returning? Could I still have some lingering bacterial infection deep inside my ear? Is there an antibiotic I should try? i recently found out that im 2 weeks pregnant and iwas on antibiotics(doxyclyn and metrronidazole) for bacterial infection before i took the test ,i want to know if this has affected the baby or me.

They say that they don't have the proper tools to drain abscesses, that they can make the infection worse. For the third time in a month, the abscess is back! I can't believe it! I did a round of Keflex, a 6 day round of amoxicillin, and this last time, a 6 day round of clindamycin (not sure if I spelled that right but I'm sure you know what I mean).

If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono? Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage. I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst. Have any of you had Mono, been misdiagnosed with Strep and took Amoxicillin, and NOT get the rash?

Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. My doctor believes I have a sinus infection, hence the Amoxicillin prescription. I did not mention my unsafe sexual encounter to my doctor and I am not having any outward symptoms of any kind of STD. My question is, can you tell me what if any STD the Amoxicillin would cure if I did contract one from my friend?

Thanks for your reply. I have been tested for other STD's but I understand the blood & urine tests will not catch an oral infection. I'm fairly certain that is it pharyngeal gonorrhea. The thing I don't get there were no outward signs of gonorrhea like discharge from the penis and he didn't cum in my mouth. I've never let that happen. It seems my risk is fairly low but I don't understand why penicillin and Keflex aren't killing this bug.

Anyways, I went and got tested and I have bacterial vaginosis. I have not been with anybody but him. He is trying to say that the antibiotics I took got rid of the std and that I gave it to him. This is not possible right?

I had an abscess on my gums. I started on keflex and scheduled a root canal ASAP. After the root canal and finishing the keflex the abscess was still there. My endontist downplayed it like it's no big deal but he drained the abcess and put me on clymdamycin. Finished all the clymdamycin and the abscess is still there. Endontist says it could take months to heal and sent me on my way. I feel like I need a second opinion. I still have a pea sized abscess on my gums idk what to do.

Well about a week after my girlfriend and I got back together I got a real back sore throats with white stuff on my throat. Went to the doctor and he tested me for strept and mono and tests came back negative. Well he put me on keflex (250mg twice a day for 10 days) totaling 5000mg course. My concern is that I got syphilis has well as hsv2 that same encounter but the keflex cured my syphilis but I gave it to my girlfriend before I was cured. Will that low of a dose keflex cure syphilis?

I did a pee sample and it showed I had a little bit of an infection, so he prescribed me Keflex which i’ve taken before and it worked! Yet i’m a little nervous concerning the issues going on in my heart (if there is anything serious) while taking the medication for the UTI at the same time. The prescription is 500 mg 4 times daily. I am trying to get my daughter to take Amoxicillin for a throat infection. She won't swallow the capsule. Is it ok to break the pink and blue A45 Amoxicillin capsule in half and mix it in applesauce?

This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth. Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary. If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.

I have been on Keflex for almost 5 days now and it has gotten so much worse. In fact I am nauseated from the smell. I have an appointment to return to my doctor on Wednesday. Hopefully relief is in sight, because it is so annoying. I think I am crazy .

Is strenuous exercise contraindicated when taking amoxicillin?Also, is sun exposure a factor, and if so, how long after you complete the round of antibiotics should you wait before you are able to go back out in the sun?
