I am on amoxicillin + Ciprofloxacin from last 8 days now (for bacterial diagnosed on my penis) . Now, I want to re-test for all STD's . Can anyone please help me to let me know which tests will be effected as I am on antibiotics from 8 days and when should I get re-test if any STD effected by this medicine. I want to test for CBC, HIV, HSV1,2, HEPATITIS A,B,C, SYPHILIS, CHLAMYDIA, GONNORHEA. Or any other std test if I should have ?

i recalled that prior to my blood test, i had take some antibiotics (amoxicillin) for my tooth inflammation. i took this for 7 days, 3X a day. then exactly after 7 days, i had my blood test. would this also affect the elevation of my liver counts? please help... is this level very alarming? i was told to have a diet plan and exercise. i was prescribed w/ cholesterol lowering med and have to take it for 1 month. after that ill have blood chem again for further study.

If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono? This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth. Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary. If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.

I typically take 2 grams of amoxicillin before all dental procedures (and some medical ones, too) due to Mitral Valve Prolapse with regurgition and a PFO in the heart. Amoxicillin is OK to take while pregnant.. I'm a nurse and have a drug guide....It states the following: Distribution - Crosses the placenta and enters breast milk in low concentration Use cautiously in - renal impariment, infectious mononucleosis, heptic impairment It's a category B which is OK in pregnancy.....Cat. c and D are not.
