Amoxicillin and fatigue

Common Questions and Answers about Amoxicillin and fatigue

amoxil

If not tested for it, you should stop the amoxicillin and get tested; and let the test results guide treatment. Amoxicillin is not reliable against gonorrhea, but in the dose you describe would be effective in about 80-90% of cases. Gonorrhea of the throat generally causes no symptoms at all and it certainly does not explain external neck pain.
1. Could the amount of amoxicillin and the time taken (1 hour before) have given me a false negative on any or all of the tests? 2. Shot was in my hip muscle, any idea what this was and what it covered? I don't believe it was penicillin g so I'm not sure if I'm covered for syph or not. 4. Any idea why I'm still having symptoms if I tested negative for all of them if those test results were indeed accurate? 4. How long before taking another HIV test?
I had the flu, then bronchitis, then laryngitis and now, 3 weeks later, my doctor suspects an ear/sinus thing. He prescribed amoxicillin when I complained of feeling tired and kind of off balance. Everyone disagrees with me when I say the antibiotic makes me feel more tired than before. Any ideas...or am I just nuts?
Hello, I have had low grade fever, night sweats, extreme fatigue and cervical lymphadenopathy for about 8 months with weight loss. My CT three months ago showed bilateral shotty jugulodigastric nodes with largest at 0.7cm, this month an ultrasound showed that several of the nodes are now 2cm. My symptoms continue and I have had numerous labwork done with no answers. My WBC was normal but trending up and is now 11.1, my MPV was 9.7 last year, 7.6 two months ago and trending down, now at 6.7.
Like many of you, I've been frustrated and confused by a combination of symptoms including fatigue, muscle and joint pain, severe headaches and neck pain, and bloating. I've had bouts of depression and anxiety but after extensively pursuing this angle I've concluded that they are the result of having so much chronic pain and discomfort and not the cause.... I've followed rigid food elimination diets in the past but that was before my pain and fatigue kicked in a few years ago.
I am 25w6d and have been experiencing extreme fatigue for the last week and the last couple of days food just doesn't appeal to me. I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is normal, or if something could be wrong. I had a cold, but have been on 875mg of amoxicillin (sp?) since monday. I don't think it has anything to do with the cold because my symptoms have pretty much gone away. Thank you!!
After about 5 weeks the fatigue and flu-like stuff went away, but I'm left with tingling, twitching, and swelling, though only in my right knee and foot. I've had brain & spine MRI's, tons of blood work, EMG, just about all normal. Tested "equivocal positive" on Lyme ELISA, but negative on Western Blot. Also, my quantitative Immunoglobulin showed a high level of IgM.
1. Pressure behind left forehead, left eye, and behind left part of my nose. It is transient and the intensity varies, but when it occurs, it feels as if the blood is not draining properly. Of course, that's just an impression. 2. Dizziness/light-headedness. The room does not spin and I have never passed out, but I feel at times like I've just given blood. This usually passes within about half an hour. 3. Strong fatigue.
I had kinda gotten to the point where I was wondering if my aching and fatigue could be due to medication-induced lupus. Wondering if stopping my prozac would help that. I really just don't know any more. I've been tested for the co-infections like tularemia and bartonella; those came back negative.
i have been suffering from debilatating allergies/sinus probs, fatigue, and dizziness for about a year now. i do have allergies to mold, dust, milk products, and corn products. my allergy doc says my symptoms are all from allergies, but i have been trying everything 2 avoid the allergens, been getting allergy shots, tried numerous allergy medications, with no help from anything! does anyone else experience this type of thing? i seriously feel like i am getting so depressed.
pediatric doctor, infectious disease specialist, and cardio doctor to check heart and BP varying w/ posture. They find nothing and give diagnosis of post viral fatigue. Nothing wrong with organs, she does have postural blood pressure issue which cardio doc says has to do with low fill volume as she is tall/slender. No meds prescribed.
But I had been ding salt water soaks, using some hydrogen peroxide to drain it (many websites suggested that), and using a warm compress. Then I got what I thought was the flu-terribly sore throat, weakness, fatigue, fever, chills, swollen lymph nodes. Etc etc. They thought it was tonsillitis so I started taking amoxicillin. Then today I had swelling in some certain areas. Went to the doc. She said either strep (on steroids I might add) or a staph infection.
These can have lasting effects of tiredness and fatigue. It is important to rule out specific autoimmune conditions such as lupus, sjogren's, etc. What happened to you may also be an adverse drug reaction bordering on steven's johnson syndrome. You should also discuss with them regarding the possibility of doing a biopsy of the lymph node.
Next day I saw my physician and started back on all inhalers plus Amoxicillin. My pulse was 120 then and stayed high even when I went without Proventil for 10 hours. The next day I was switched from Proventil to MaxAir and I had a thyroid test. My TSH is low, T4 is high (about 16), and free thyroxin is normal. The thyroid screen was repeated two days later and was the same. For three days I was very short of breath although the wheezing was not bad. Mornings were the worst.
Starting 11 days ago I have experienced extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, and rapid pulse, (92 to 130). I have seen my physician and will see a pulmonologist in one week and an endocrinologist in 3 weeks. Is there anything else I should do in the meantime? History: I am 32 years old, height 5' 7, weight 118, (no gain yet). Other medical condition is varicose veins that protrude from my calf to vulva.
I don't really have any other symptoms aside from normal things I would attribute to my hypothyroidism-- fatigue, muscle aches, and a stuffy nose (but it's winter so...) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I went in the shower and felt faint, called for my Mum and after a few seconds I did actually faint and lose consciousness. For the next few weeks I was feeling really tired all the time, nauseated and getting bouts of dizziness so I basically spent weeks in bed. Due to being so inactive and hardly eating I ended up in hospital for 5 days with painful impacted constipation.
These are just symptoms added to my daily BD symptoms of joint, connective tissue inflammation, various GI symptoms, extreme fatigue, memory and coordination difficulties, night sweats, ulcers, headaches and low grade fevers. My question is, my BD is getting worse does that mean the meds are no longer effective? I have been told that there is not much else to use treating my symptoms. Please help.
The Infectious disease doctor treats with Doxycycline/amoxicillin as well and says I DO have lyme. Been taking the meds since DEC 5th 07 and am feeling more energy and overall well being increased. I have had long term fatigue that increased in the last 6 months of 07 with lots of joint/body pain. Knees, elbows, shoulders, shoulder blades, neck stiffness, etc which has reduced as well but still flaring up at times.
I also got the symptoms like stiff neck, fatigue and loss of appettite. I could only eat whenever I could relax and also could not sleep at night.Recently after 2 weeks the medication was stopped I developed rashes which looks like a insect bite at the back and 2 small scratches on the forearms. Last week I had what I thought was a zit on the very for top of my upper lip almost near my nostril. I tried to pop it but nothing happened and then it just became irritated and bigger and has a yellow looking scab over it. On sunday I woke up with a sore throat. By the evening I had a fever. I went to a minute clinic and did a strep test and a flu test both of which came back negative. They didn't prescribe me anything and just said take tylenol and gargle salt water.
An erythema migrans rash is always indicative of Lyme and even the IDSA recommends treating it for three weeks with Doxycycline, Amoxicillin for kids 8 and under. I don't know where he came up with five days, but it sounds like a generic treatment for an unknown infection. He clearly didn't think it was Lyme in prescribing that. (I personally would file a complaint against him and would certainly never see him again.
After a complete examination by an ER doctor I was told I had 'post viral fatigue' and that slowly I should start getting better. I did for a week and now I have this tingling and numbness and the fatigue has returned. The whole time no one has even suggested a MRI and Im so scared that I could have MS. But, my only symptom that makes me think MS is the numbness/tingling.

She then took condom off and resumed hand job until i finished. I fear that I have contracted an STD and/or HIV. First signs were fatigue about a few weeks after incident. I've been living in fear, reading up symptoms and finding that I have many symptoms that are listed. Then I contracted a flu with typical flu symptoms including dizziness and positional vertigo. Had conjunctivitus in both eyes towards second week of flu. Doc precribed Amoxicillin.
I am 18 years old, just finished high school, live in Minnesota, have mild asthma, am very sensetive (like skin, eyes, etc.) and have an allergy to amoxicillin and cats. I don't know if that helps or not, but I'd really appreciate any help I can get.
She did a urine test and gave me an injection of something, 500 mg of azithromycin to take at once, and a course of Amoxicillin. My sore throat vanished after about a day or two on the antibiotics and the sinuses are slowly clearing. She told me that in the absence of visual lesions "outside" the mouth and on the penis surface, then I have nothing to worry about. She told me they would be obvious and then examined both areas and found nothing.
I am still suffering fatigue, headaches and strange feelings in my arms and legs occasionally. Neuro said if I had experienced encephalitis that it needs to run its course in terms of recovery and could take me many months to get back to normal (much like the mono virus takes diff. amount of time for diff. people). I wonder if I should ask for the Lyme test too? I'm just glad you have an answer finally. I'll bet you are relieved to know what is going on.
