Amoxicillin + metronidazole may be more effective than amoxicillin alone. After extraction , amoxicillin, metronidazole, Tylenol, and Advil are effective post op pharmacological intervention, which yields minimal post op discomfort.
I called a vet today and asked it we could just wrap her up numb it and pull it w/out cost of anesthesia I was told no. I mixed tuna juice w/ amoxicillin cap(500mg) and gave her 32mg hoping to help her infection and pain. Have you ever known any vets to use local to pull a tooth? She is a little back of bones prob less than 4lbs she can eat canned food but I can't get any weight on her.
Now the main thing that has me a bit worried is it has been extremely hard to eat. I can barely open my mouth now and if I try and force it past the comfort point it hurts A LOT. Now I'm mainly just looking for other opinions here. Am I just freaking out a bit and should give it a couple more days? Or should I go back to the doc to see if its something else?? All help is appreciated!
They did a re-treatment on the tooth. My dentist had put on me on pain meds and amoxicillin. two days after the retreatment I was in horrible pain. I went back to the endo to have an I&D done. My face was very swollen for two days. They then switched my meds to clindamycin(2 rounds) The swelling has gone away mostly but there is still a little swollen area near the tooth where the I&D was done. Every day it is an improvement but it still hurts.
I am 35 year old male.Let me start from beginning.Back in May went to Clinic because of pain in my testicle.After speaking to doctor and telling him I had unprotected Anal sex with girl I started feeling pains.He tested me and said I must of got bacteria thru my eurethra.Tested for Chlam. & Gonorrrea and Strep throat and was cleared.I believed he said it was Urethritis.He gave me Zythromax and Cipro.Everything seemed to be fine after that.
If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono?
Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage.
I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst.
Have any of you had Mono, been misdiagnosed with Strep and took Amoxicillin, and NOT get the rash?
I had a root canal the day before yesterday and that day everything was fine. I went to work the following day and everything was fine, I was taking advil for the pain. then that night all of the sudden something didn't feel right and when i looked in the mirror that side of my jaw and down to my neck was swollen and it felt like there was a ball in there. Now I look like a freak. i took some amoxicillan that I had but it doesn't seem to be working.
Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. My doctor believes I have a sinus infection, hence the Amoxicillin prescription. I did not mention my unsafe sexual encounter to my doctor and I am not having any outward symptoms of any kind of STD.
My question is, can you tell me what if any STD the Amoxicillin would cure if I did contract one from my friend?

The night before i saw him i was running a 104 in the middle of the night. Took Advil and it went down. When i was at the doctor it was 99. Now today (saw the doctor yesterday) I’m feeling a little bit better, but my throat still shows signs of tonsillitis and really hurts. I think i finally broke my fever last night because i woke up at 3am somewhat drenched.
Anyhow, just wanted everyone’s thoughts on this.
I am trying to get my daughter to take Amoxicillin for a throat infection. She won't swallow the capsule. Is it ok to break the pink and blue A45 Amoxicillin capsule in half and mix it in applesauce?
This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth.
Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary.
If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.
advil is a minor anti inflammatory
I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose
more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate
I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflamma
As some of you know I suffer from severe health anxiety...I started going through a particularly bad time last fall...I am constantly afraid of headaches,fevers,muscle aches etc..as a result of this I started taking advil constantly and I am up to about 10 to 12 liquigels a day..If I don't take them my anxiety goes through the roof and I start to imagine headaches,pain etc...this can't be good for me..and I don't know how to stop...

We just found out yesterday I am expecting and figure im about 5 weeks. I have terrible headaches but I am allergic to tylenol, I have always just puked it up. Is there anything else I can take at this point?

Is strenuous exercise contraindicated when taking amoxicillin?Also, is sun exposure a factor, and if so, how long after you complete the round of antibiotics should you wait before you are able to go back out in the sun?
I was prescribed amoxicillin and I got better. Then, when I had just one dose left of the amoxicillin, I started to get sick again and they gave me the zpack (I've had problems before with recurrent strep). This one turned out to be a virus, but a week later I was still running a fever and went to the doctor.
I had a sore throat in April, and the doctor gave me amoxicillin believing i had strept throat, without swabbing. The antibiotics didn't work until day 7 out of 10, and a few days after i finished the antibitocs it came back. A different doctor prescribed me cefaclor which worked after using it for 1 day. When I finished the prescription, a day after i had a sore throat.
What, if anything can I take for a headache? I've read far too many mixed reviews. I have advil and ibuprofen here, just don't Wana take anything besides my pre natals, too nerve wracking!
I ALWAYS have to take medicine and take it easy for a few days during my period. I usually take Advil the day before my expected period because they say that it works better if you take it before the pain starts. It does for me. Here is my problem: My husband and I are always dreaming and hoping for a baby. Is it a good idea to take Advil the day before my expected period when there is a chance I could be pregnant?
