Common Questions and Answers about Ammonia refrigeration units

ammonia

Avatar n tn I am worried because my test was not done right away. I also believe it was left out of refrigeration for sometime and then put in refrigeration. I also don't know on what conditions it was when it finally got laboratory. I know that they did a general blood test (that they do for people looking for immigration, but I had not immigration issues but that is ok). They did a general blood check, kidney check, HIV, syphilis, and some other stuff.
Avatar n tn We have a pharmacy forum on MH go back to the forums page and look to your right.
Avatar f tn No, fish oil needs no refrigeration if it's in gel caps. It's the flax seed oil that needs the refrigeration.
Avatar m tn I also realised that there are different measurement units of TFTs in different parts of world. I am in Australia and here normal levels of TSH = 0.5-5.0, T3 = 3.1 - 6.0 and T4 = 11-21. Please please help !! I just want a healthy baby !!!! Are there any tests that can confirm if the baby is growing healthy without any deformities??? I have an appointment with endo this wednesday.. I am just praying to GOD that all goes well.
Avatar f tn My husband was a Vietnam veteran who recieved 52 units of blood after his injury. He told me I couldn't catch it. In the 20 years together we had rough sex. I have recently had a blood test, and I have ammonia in my blood. My liver is failing. I want to know the truth. Can he have given me hep C? He's dead. Can't ask him.
Avatar n tn Hi there, Tammy is right. But, specifically the guidance says "Room temperature storage up to 30 days, if refrigeration is unavailable" Note: if refrigeration is unavailable Personally, I feel this does not include varying room temperatures and I would not advise anyone to leave it out in hi (hot) temperatures. But, that's my personal opinion. Would only feel comfortable to do something like that if I knew the temperatures at which the forumula/medicine would change.
14315163 tn?1433897417 Again, high NH3 (~300), low BP (70/30), and low platelets . They gave lots of Lactulose and 3 units of blood (after 2 units they told me his platelets were 17,000 but not sure if that was the initial level or after giving the 2 units). Again, he would range from unresponsive to weakly responsive and coherent to incoherent and combative... even when the NH3 dropped to ~70 which use to be "okay." His NH3 is now 33, they stopped the Ativan, but he is still out.
10064121 tn?1415176073 The lactation specialist at my hospital said it's good for 12 hours no refrigeration. 36 hours refrigeration. 1 month in the door of a normal freezer. 3 months in a deep freeze.
798555 tn?1292787551 Yeah, they don't make it clear. lactose: "a sugar present in milk. It is a disaccharide containing glucose and galactose units." lactase: "an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of lactose to glucose and galactose" Therefore lactase breaks down lactose into simple sugars, and people like me don't produce lactase, so we don't digest lactose into glucose and galactose.
Avatar f tn After refrigeration, if my baby does not finish all the breastmilk, how long is it good for at room temp???
219241 tn?1413537765 s FDA) say that it should be refrigerated too. Australia is the only country to decide that refrigeration is the best way to store under 25 C. (77 F) There are many arguments about whether this correct. It is a hormone, a very sensitive one so it makes sense to me. I know that we are about to get 'blister packs' which will be much better for dispersing and avoiding condensation problems from in and out of fridge, and contamination from handling.
Avatar n tn There is a slight advantage to Pegasys (alfa-2a) The Pegasys needs refrigeration.
Avatar f tn I'm 6 weeks pregnant and I work in a paint department. I mix colors and clean up paint pretty much. Since I've worked there we have always used glass cleaner to clean the paint off the desk and our hands. I didnt know this until today but the cleaner we use has ammonia in it. I've been using it every day for a few months to get the paint off of my hands. Could it have hurt my baby?
Avatar n tn We discovered that my husband had an episode of Encephalopathy, which is high ammonia in the blood. But by the time we had his blood checked his levels were right smack in the middle of the range. Doctor said he was fine. So my question is can this ammonia gone untreated continue to rise and lower on its own. Because he has days that he seems fine and then days when he is not with me completely. He does not eat much as his taste buds are totally out of wack. Most foods taste very salty.
Avatar f tn I recently found out I had high ammonia, it was 66, I am taking lactalose and it is is now normal. All my blood work is within normal ranges on my liver function test and I also had a sonogram, have a mild fatty liver. Was wondering what could have caused this. I do drink a few beers a night.
Avatar n tn I am a registered nurse employed by carolinas hospital system in florence, sc, working cancer and dialysis units. Any answer would be most appreciated Linda B.
Avatar m tn He has already had a triple heart bi-pass, galbladder removed, viens that cause internal bleeding had to be surgically stopped in the Esophagus/5 units of blood given. Blood amonia levels are 3+ times over normal, blood platlette count is 40 to 50. Doctors say nothing at all, they just call me with the blood results? Can anyone advise what stages we are at here.
Avatar n tn Patients with liver disease are unable to process or detoxify ammonia so that ammonia levels can reach dangerously high levels. This is coupled by increased ammonia production of colonic bacteria, especially if one is constipated or has an irregular bowel movement. High protein intake can also lead to an incresed ammonia production. I suggest you talk about these possibilities with your doctors.
Avatar m tn The blood is metabolized in the intestines as a very high protein source, a bi-product of this increased serum Ammonia levels..It would be the toxic ammonia levels that are responsible for the dimentia. This would possibly stop after resection (as long as thats the only cause). You're going to have to carefully weigh what you think would be his opinion were he to have a clear mind. Was there a prognosis for a resolution of his cancer?
190885 tn?1333025891 I am assuming you have cirrhosis? (I have a list of cirrhotics but I know it doesn't include everyone with cirrhosis here). Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) and brain fog are two different conditions. "Brain fog" has nothing to do with ammonia levels. Most ammonia in the body forms when protein is broken down by bacteria in the intestines. The liver normally converts ammonia into urea, which is then eliminated in urine.
Avatar m tn Ammonia odor can be associated with H. pylori. Ammonia can also be associated with urine and fecal material and not due to H. pylori.
Avatar n tn Yes it does. High levels of ammonia cause hepatic encephalopathy which in turn can cause confusion, sleepiness and forgetfulness. There are medications to help lower those levels. Speak to your hep doc.
