I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. You could try the following remedies.
To be on the safe side, don't mix chlorine bleach with anything -- or just avoid chlorine bleach altogether.
We all know that the gas could be hydrogen sulfide or methane or someting nitrous depending on what consume. But this doesnt explain how it passes through glass windows/doors.

Another symptom the article gave was an ammonia smell in the nose. Someone commented once that they smelled ammonia. I truly believe this is the cause of my problems. Another thing that surprised me is that I remember taking pepto bismuth and it would make some difference. I read that pepto bismuth, activated charcoal and gas x are all good . I think I will follow a low sulphur diet and see if it helps. Joint pain is also a symptom which I do have and doctors has said it is not arthritis.
Right eye had temporary contacts while waiting for right cataract surgery. when went in for right eye cataract measurement, she could not get clear measurements, 4 days after left surgery. is this normal ? have to come back and not use temp. contact on right eye meas again in 4 days.
I went for my U/S and TVUS this morning. I don't have the results yet, of course, but did manage to sneak a peek of the screen when the tech left the room. The first time she left, I saw "7.0 cm" in the bottom corner. This was a measurement from the TVUS, as she had just finished. She then came back in, mentioned something about taking more measurements due to the "physics" of something or another, and looked via U/S.
My fundal height measurements took my Dr. by surprise today. I am scheduled for a growth scan in a week. I am 24 4/7 weeks I gained 7 pounds in 5 weeks. I trust my Dr. so much and respect his opinions as well. He was clearly concerned. He said it is to early for the baby's size to affect the measurements so drastically. I am a seasoned mother baby #5 on board but can't help but freak out. It is going to be a LONG week! Any one else experience this?
m trying to measure myself at home, but I know my measurements aren't correct... I've googled on how to do it but i still think I'm doing it wrong...
this is helpful because TMA is an actual gas, I theorize that it is highly alkaline, like oven cleaner. It is not too expensive and you will feel some victory in knowing that there is an actual reason for people's reactions.
You may also want to invest in getting a DNA-level comprehensive stool analysis, the PCR one. This is alittle more money than the TMAU test, but also worth it.
