The nurse gave me the run around and said they were within normal limits. Without the limits in fornt of me I don't know what they are. My husband went to Utah 2 days after I called, and all of a sudden they were checking ammonia levels and trating him with Lactolose, which I know is the appropriate Tx. I know that Hep patients need to be monitored for elevated ammonia levels, so why did it take me, a CNA of 17 years, to be the one who brought this to their attention?
I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.

I believe that we emit ammonia from our bodies due to to the imbalance in our stomach and digestive track. Are bodies cannot get rid of the excess ammonia properly so it comes out through our pores causing people to sneeze and itch. You could try the following remedies.
To be on the safe side, don't mix chlorine bleach with anything -- or just avoid chlorine bleach altogether.
We all know that the gas could be hydrogen sulfide or methane or someting nitrous depending on what consume. But this doesnt explain how it passes through glass windows/doors.
The sun emits infrared / UV radiations that can penetrate through glass and hence heat up our car interiors. Obviously, this heat radiations that the sun emits is odorless but perhaps our bodies emit similar radiations that are heaty and suffocating.
The pungency is not likely to be caused by urine, which is more like alkaline ammonia, so if you have not other complaints, I would argue that your vagina is healthy. Otherwise seek out your physician. Hope that helps!
Another symptom the article gave was an ammonia smell in the nose. Someone commented once that they smelled ammonia. I truly believe this is the cause of my problems. Another thing that surprised me is that I remember taking pepto bismuth and it would make some difference. I read that pepto bismuth, activated charcoal and gas x are all good . I think I will follow a low sulphur diet and see if it helps. Joint pain is also a symptom which I do have and doctors has said it is not arthritis.
got tummyaches alot, burping makes it better but it happends that i hear the air/gas in my stomach, but the burp doenst come. can take several hours before it finally does :|

What i like about fodmapfriendly is that ,even when a serving is green, it says which low levels of fodmaps ur serve contains. But ofc there are contradictions with Monash app, soo which one do i trust most?
this is helpful because TMA is an actual gas, I theorize that it is highly alkaline, like oven cleaner. It is not too expensive and you will feel some victory in knowing that there is an actual reason for people's reactions.
You may also want to invest in getting a DNA-level comprehensive stool analysis, the PCR one. This is alittle more money than the TMAU test, but also worth it.

Since I've worked there we have always used glass cleaner to clean the paint off the desk and our hands. I didnt know this until today but the cleaner we use has ammonia in it. I've been using it every day for a few months to get the paint off of my hands. Could it have hurt my baby?
