m forgetting to breathe, followed by deep breaths. My car has had a header gasket leak for several months, and my symptoms have progressively gotten worse. During possible exposure, my lungs are heavy and flow with mucus, cough, etc... I do not currently have health insurance -- but SHOULD I seek medical assistance? (Hyperbaric chamber, oxygen therapy, other...) Or simply decrease/prevent further exposure?

My husband accidentally left the stove on low, no fire just gas. We took a ONE HOUR nap. I smelt the gas as soon as i left our room. He immediately turned it off and open doors and windows and turned on fans for about half hour now. It was on low the carbon monoxide detector didn't even go off. Should i be worried about sleeping here tonight? I'm concerned about my baby. I'm 34 weeks pregnant ftm. Maybe I'm just being paranoid...

I often use my gas oven for heat in the apartment and though I have a smoke alarm detector, I don't have a cm detector. My landlord is a bit of a slumlord, but really no excuses, I should be on top of it as well. I think my neighbors have a similar situation and with a baby no less. u can call a local health dept and ask in the mean time; they should all take pro-biotics which u can get at a vitamin store and take super high culture counts of at least 50 billion daily for couple weeks each and see if this does not make a difference.

Get out of the house call a gas specialist to test your appliances for leaks immediately then before ou go home... since you rely on gas appliances the first thing you need to do is buy a CO2 detector and install it. this kind of poisoning is dangerous and can sneak up on you and render you unconscious before you know it. don't take chances with it.

I have a question. In my house, i have a gas stove and a gas oven. Ive been so paranoid about carbon monoxide poisoning idk why. My grandma was cooking one day and she left the oven open for like 2 minutes to mix something and i got so scared! We do have a carbon monoxide detector in my house but im afraid that it won't detect it because its on the other side of the house. Someone please help me!!!

It is also possible that, if the concentration of ammonia is high enough, chlorine gas will form. If it starts to give off a strong odour and your eyes are burning, flush it and open a window or turn on the ventilation fan immediately, then get out of the room. Chlorine gas is highly toxic.

I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. The perm smell is usually related to sulfur or ammonia products. You might also be detecting sewer gas leak if you have a cracked drain pipe some where. It might also be perm chemicals wafting through the air. Try to narrow it down.

Urine has ammonia in it. Ammonia mixed with bleach makes a VERY toxic gas.

I guess I have adverse reactions to ammonia products and pretty much any household cleaner with chemicals in it. Toxic mold can also create problems. My sister had recurring bronchitis and ear infections, as well did her 2 kids, several years ago when she rented a house that had a mold issue in their basement (they got out of it and immeddiately stopped having colds, infections, etc.). Another thing that I have heard that can cause problems is high CO (carbon monoxide) levels.
