Hello. Congrats, to u on your baby!I'm a cosmetologist & I color hair everyday & still get mine colored as well!Im 14 weeks & my baby is totally healthy. It's OK to use hair color that is ammonia free! Make sure it definitely is ammonia free, though! Ammonia has been linked to causing blindness in unborn children. I use CHI color. Good luck to u. Yeah its safest to stay away from harmful chemicals like ammonia in first trimester - Don't fret, I had to rock some awful swampyblondegreen hair the whole first half of my pregnancy for this reason. After that though, its generally seen as safe as long as you only do it one or two times and dont breathe in the fumes or soak too much in your skin.

Use ammonia free dye. There is less of a color selection but it's worth the extra precaution. Never ever ever bleach your hair while pregnant though.
I just had this huge argument with my mom last month about if it was safe or not so I called my doctor and she said it was perfectly fine to dye your hair during pregnancy

I did it, i did at home ammonia free, i had ombre done after first tri.or sometime during the 3months in june. Then went over it all to do a good transition, then touched up my roots later, and just last month went over my entire hair to go dark again and one color. Keep it ventilated, ammonia free, and i also did my roots last so it wasn't too long on it. Lastly my hair dresser had told me as well its ok to dye hair. Hope that helped a little.
I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.
Dr says ammonia free, well ventilated area etc. I'm wondering what store bought dyes have worked best?
m a color specialist and it is Ok to color your hair. . You Can use ammonia free if you are scared about the ammonia but you can use normal color as well. Be In well ventilated area or you can wear a mask to cover your nose and mouth so you don't smell the fumes. . Especially If you get highlights. I have heard your hair might go funny colors due to hormones but all of the colors I have done on pregnant ladies turned out awesome. . So I guess it just effects people differently.
Is coloring your hair b in second trimester OK
I asked my doctor and she said don't use permanent, just use semi. I actually dyed my hair today and all is well. I'm twenty weeks btw. I used ammonia free.
