I heard it was the ammonia in windex so as long as u get the ammonia free u should be ok but id talk to my dr first

I know that there came a point in my pregnancy at the beginning and at the end that the very SMELL of ammonia or bleach made me vomit. So I just stopped cleaning and made my hubby do it!

While cleaning i think i used too much clorox bleach and it has me feeling a little weird. Any suggestions mommies?

Watch windex if u clean the windows i read last week on the bottle that it has ammonia in it, idk if its safe to be around ammonia but i didnt wanna take the chance because of how strong it is so i bought some ammonia free!

I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.

Urine has ammonia in it. Ammonia mixed with bleach makes a VERY toxic gas.

Get a little bit of bleach and put it in a cup and take your urine and poor it inside the bleach if it foams and fizzles it suppose to mean girl if it does nothing at all it suppose to mean boy.

Hello, I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I was wondering what cleaning products are safe to use? I'm more of a traditional cleaner I use mostly bleach, comet, pine sol, and windex. Should I still use these products or should I switch to something else? Do other products clean as well?

Dye yes, bleach not so much... they say ammonia free dye and in a well ventilated area.

I work at a dog day care/boarding & grooming service. The indoor play yards where the dogs go to the bathroom are mopped regularly with a very strong industrial bleach solution that burns all of our eyes terribly & makes all of the dogs go into sneezing fits. I have recently been feeling short of breath easily fatigued & have had several serious dizzy spells that made me unable to function. Could these symptoms be related to inhaling these bleach (& ammonia from the urine) fumes?

I would stay away from the bleach and makes sure they are ammonia free it should say on the box

SPRAY SOME WINDEX ON IT! - Ok - that makes me think of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" every time I suggest it but it works for ant bites and jellyfish stings -- too bad I did not know that before I went to Florida as the hubby got stung. (BTW - I was mad at him at that moment anyway so it was kind of fitting he got stung! --- but then again, I AM a little evil)! :) Anyway, try the windex.

You should stay away from bleach and harsh chemical cleaners. Pledge and Windex are fine, but you shouldn't use chemical cleaners at all. Make sure whenever your cleaning with anything that you have the windows open so your not inhaling fumes. And don't over do it! I was cleaning the bathroom and got light headed and fell into the bathtub. (Not my finest moment. Thank God my baby is ok.

Does anyone on here use dye thats not ammonia free? I get worried at times bcuss wehn I died my hair 2 weeks ago I didnt use ammonia free. I used the garnier frutis hair dye. But I was outside wehn i was dying it. But some girls say use the ammonia free dye. Was I still safe? & are u not supposed to put it on your scalp?

t speak for over the counter color but almost all professional color products are made with much gentler ingredients and much lower ammonia or no ammonia. Most have a very mild smell. Saying that though, some times hormonal changes can cause a lightner(bleach) to have unpredictable results. Like maybe staying a bit brassier than you'd like. But I personally have never encountered that problem. In my opinion I think it safe to do anything to your hair except keratin smoothing treatments.

They are battery powered and a little large so they can not be sub merged in water. Please do not suggest bleach or Lysol, There is a Chance when he plays with them he might try to put his mouth on one. So i don't want Any stay on harsh chemicals Thanks!

mr. clean, clorox cleaner, bleach, windex... you name it... i probably crave it... i only crave it when i smell them. i have the urge to drink them... thank God i have enough sense not to. however, i would love to know what is causing this because my iron is fine... i am not anemic... or whatever... and i am definitely not pregnant. what kind of deficiency could this be?

Once you hit 2nd trimester your good to go. Yes color hair but no bleach!!!!! Also make sure the color you get is ammonia free.

I use a ammonia free bleach on my whole head made by chi but it is the only one on the market that doesn't have ammonia so I've done my roots the same as I've always done for years with this product and yes u will need a good conditioner and products to help ur hair out but I don't see why u would be able to do it!

Garnier is prly one of the better ones it's ammonia free or at heart they make an ammonia free one :-) but yes open bathroom window leave door open and your fine :-)

I use dishsoap on counters, vinegar water and dshsoap mixture on floors, water alone on mirrors, green or natural toilet bowl cleaner that has low odor, and antibacterial cleaning wipes that I wear gloves with in the bathroom that don't smell too strong. Vinegar on counter and cutting board when sanitizing. Vinegar and baking soda paste mixture in oven and let it sit before scrubbing. I never have used many chemicals to clean (except the bathroom). I felt it was still pretty sanitary.

So I am currently 2 months pregnant. I have bleach blonde hair && my roots are terribly grown out. I was thinking of putting low lights in to blend my roots. Instead of using bleach. Some people say its ok to dye your hair using foils so it doesn't touch the scalp. And that dyes are much safer these days; some are ammonia free. What to do?
