Avatar n tn where can i find silver nitrate solution? is it a cream? and i used E45 on it last night and its not as swollen today. thanks for the help.
Avatar f tn The silver nitrate ruined a few pairs of outfits. It stains and you cannot get it out. This was a few years ago as my child is almost in kindergarten but I think the pediatrician said to clean with rubbing alcohol. Do not get it wet so don't use soap and water. You could give your little one an infection. When in doubt though call your pediatrician to be sure. It's stressful but once it's closed you'll feel so relieved.
Avatar m tn Yesterday I applied silver nitrate to some tiny bumps on the base of the shaft of my penis- my best guess as to what they are is either genital warts or hair follicles that were bigger than my liking so I decided to chemically burn them off with silver nitrate. I applied silver nitrate and put the sticky part of a bandaid over it and left it for 24 hrs, when removed the top layer skin shed and the bumps are still present though now smaller and raw.
Avatar m tn I'm 31 and finally had orgasms (cervical ones) after having kids a couple years ago. Not to brag, it was really simple to have them once I figured out exactly what to do shortly after my second kid - I'm assuming a physical change down there from labor exposed the right parts. I was having bleeding after sex and the Dr. fixed my "friable cervix" with silver nitrate a few months ago.
Avatar m tn I did think that but iv never had a sinis infection
Avatar n tn I'm experiencing this same type of itching following a pelvic organ prolapse surgery. It seem to occur a couple of days after I was treated with "silver nitrate" during my 2 week post op visit for treatment of wound "granulation." Were you treated with "silver nitrate" following your surgery?
1134500 tn?1260875857 i know i was exposed to ammonia gas for roughly 6 years.allso sodium nitrate, hydrogen, and hydroxic sludge,so 1 ov these started my headaches.ive since left the company but have every sample, pitchure of the machine.legal action is now being taken against the company.its such a nightmare, the impact these headaches have in your life...
1116823 tn?1303072844 the usual reason skin will not re-approximate is granulation tissue between the edges. Silver nitrate gets rid of the granulation tissue and the edges grow together. Now. if there is no grainy, pink granulation tissue in the way, the wound needs to have the edges freshened (after numbing, using a scalpel) and the fresh edges brought together with stitchs.
Avatar f tn Im diagnosed with cervical erosion, i went for cervical repair by silver nitrate stick.
Avatar n tn Colloidal silver with concentrations of 30 parts per million (ppm) or less are typically manufactured using an electrolyte process, whereas colloidal silver with higher concentrations of 50 ppm or more are usually either silver compounds such as silver chloride and silver iodide or are solutions that have been bound with a protein to disperse the particles. Silver nitrate is a soluble chemical compound with chemical formula AgNO3.
Avatar f tn I have been struggling with SLK for 4 years, have seen many eye doctors and have tried every eye drop known to man. Have my lower puncta's cauterized and have had silver nitrate brushed across the back of both eyes. Now am taking 1% cyclosporin, which burns like fire for about a minute. Question - has anyone had success in treating this miserable condition? I am so discouraged as feel the photophobia and gritty feeling in my eyes is never going to go away.
Avatar n tn Para-Phenylenediamine (PPD) is an ingredient found in most hair dyes and colors and it can cause severe dermatitis of skin and swelling of the face and mucus membranes. Treatment of this includes application of Burrow’s or silver nitrate solution, lukewarm water baths, oatmeal baths, topical and systemic steroids ,antihistaminics, emollients to moisturize skin and antibiotics in cases of secondary infection.
Avatar f tn Sorry...I meant to add that yes, they use silver nitrate sticks to cauderize the tissue. They had to do this with some granulation tissue that developed around my nephrostomy incision..it didn't hurt, but stung for a little bit. Granulation tissue bleeds very easily and after the silver nitrate treatment, I've had no problems.
Avatar f tn I have also been getting a plantar wart treated on my foot for the past 14 months - monthly freezing, lasering and treatment with salycilic acid and/or silver nitrate. I did spill the silver nitrate (10% solution) on my bedside table one night and slept next to the spill all night - but this was almost 2 months ago. I was referred to Urgent Neuro Clinic from the ER, but they did not concur that it was an urgent neuro case.
Avatar f tn Vigorous therapy for dry eye, including Restasis and tear duct plugs and cautery with silver nitrate are very helpful. Find a cornea Eye MD near you at www.aao.org If all else fails surgical removal or cautery or conjunctival recession sometimes take care of the problem.
Avatar m tn It coats the white blood cells and makes them last longer...My husband made colloidal silver generators for years and never had any problems with any of his clients using it...The big problem with it is, The absolute purest silver has to be used to avoid contamination...and, the longer it sits on a shelf, the weaker it gets. After a short time, (less than a month) the colloids separate out from the solution and it loses it's potency...
Avatar m tn Semi Permanent, make sure you get it a Beauty Supply and the plastic bottle is brown NOT silver. The silver one has PPD.
1936550 tn?1348360208 My baby's belly button hasn't healed yet. Her cord fell off at 10 days old, she is 18 days old now. And her doc applied silver nitrate yesterday. I didn't know what it was until I researched it, and he never bothered to tell me. But now it looks raw, and red, no blood, or pus. But I think it's bothering her a lot. How soon for it to heal?
Avatar f tn Hi I have a question for the expert gynaecologists out there. During the birth of my daughter I had to have an episiotomy. This didn't heal correctly and when I went to see the gp they treated it with silver nitrate, which didn't work. I have not been able to get a straight answer as to whether this is a normal treatment or if they were incorrect in doing this? Please help as this is really making me feel upset and down.
202436 tn?1326474333 not to use anything on it just keep it dry.... Avatar f tn So I have to have another procedure. They are going to cut off most of the tissue then use silver nitrate to cauterize the wound. My question is, I just went through a very painful experience with my first procedure will this second one be worse? What's the average healing time? Is there anything I can expect? I just feel lost and cant find answers anywhere. Thanks ahead for the help.
Avatar m tn Had ER level nosebleed yesterday, Ambulances, whole 9 yards, No packing, seemed able to deal with it by silver nitrate (-igte?) cauterizing. But ER didn't say much about dealing with healing, No bleeding out the nose, down the throat, but brownish goo with some thick blood in it, ENT triage nurse says: a scab, Spray saline up there 5-6 times a day. But did not let me know: with saline (I use saline with aloe), do I blow or just tough it out until something happens?
3185070 tn?1344700577 My gyn put some silver nitrate on it and it sort of burns it off I think. The rest of it he cut off while I was under anesthesia during my ovary surgery last week.
1345697 tn?1430619021 They clipped it shorter on my first son so we could clean it better and used silver nitrate but just a little and it fell off, my second son the blue stuff they used couldnt get down in there to dry it out so they also clipped it a little shorter and put silver nitrate in there to dry it and we went back a week later and the pedi just barely moved it and it fell off, and we just went to the pedi today with my little girl and again the blue stuff didnt get down far enough to dry it so they didnt
Avatar n tn I went to my OB/GYN today because I had noticed a blood blister looking thing at the edge of the inner vaginal cuff (I have no clue regarding official medical terminology for this stuff). It was fairly small and kind of looked like a mole or something? So I got nervous and made an appt w/my doc to check it out. So the first thing she says when I go in today is "Oooooh, not good.
Avatar f tn The site is healing nicely, and I think you are right about the silver nitrate. I got the pathology results, and the spot on my chest was melanoma in situ. I have already met with the plastic surgery to have the entire thing removed. I have also been back to my dermatologist for a full body check, and he said the rest of my skin looks good! So I am so happy I went in to have the dermatofibroma checked out, and that I showed him the spot on my chest!
1354136 tn?1331875317 i have granulation tissue that is being treated with silver nitrate sticks. so far i have received two treatments and i was wondering how long until you see some results? thank you.
225036 tn?1294509400 Well, I thought all was well after going to the doctor yesterday, and I look at my incision this afternoon and find that the silver nitrate (I think that is what she put on it) was not doing it's job and holding my incision together. Now it is bigger and deeper. It looks like some pus is coming out of it, but I honestly can't tell if that is what it is or if it is just the stuff she put on it yesterday. I have gauze on it now, and stuff has seeped through it. I called the dr.
