Ammonia and detergent

Common Questions and Answers about Ammonia and detergent

Avatar_m_tn I would suggest finding out what is added to your city water. Is it chlorine or both chlorine and ammonia? When you find out, get a filter for your shower to filter those out. Change to laundry detergent that is dye free, fragrance free, clear, and made for people with sensitivity. The cream that might be soothing would be Lotrimin. With all the scratching, you could have introduced some yeast into abraded areas and made the itching worse.
Avatar_m_tn Get a shower filter that takes those out and your skin and hair will be shiny, happy, and healthy. All these chemicals are poisoning us through our skin and lungs.
Avatar_f_tn Chlorine bleach, or sodium hypochlorite, is a lung and eye irritant. If mixed with ammonia or acid-based cleaners (including vinegar), chlorine bleach releases toxic chloramine gas. Short-term exposure to this gas may cause mild asthmatic symptoms or more serious respiratory problems. (Source: Washington Toxics Coalition) You could try the following remedies. To be on the safe side, don't mix chlorine bleach with anything -- or just avoid chlorine bleach altogether.
Avatar_n_tn I opened my doors through away my fabreeze plug in and fabreeze spray. I gave laundry detergent away to my neighbor because all of the following felt like an enemy to my senses. I later that night got a headache on my left side, frontal, that radiated behind my left eye. I am not a migraine regular. I did feel light sensitivity. Has anyone ever experience this. In the past, I have had false smells of ammonia or bleach like these chemicals were under my nose, but weren't actually there.
Avatar_n_tn That ammonia smell comes from ur vagina touching your underwear and juices mixing with the detergent ...I where a pad everyday ..a very thin pad so my Nana can breathe ...the Dr tells me it will cause an infection but that is BS. ..the fish smell comes from bacteria infection comes right before period especially if you hvse been having sex around that time. This is what I do and it works ..u can listen to all the other stuff but this is the only thing that helped..
598816_tn?1219546166 I switched to organic cleaning supplies and laundry detergent and dish washer detergent several months back, probably around March. Didn't notice any change in my daughter, but I noticed a bunch of health benefits in myself, including not having an asthma attack since doing so, including during the height of allergy season in spring. I guess I have adverse reactions to ammonia products and pretty much any household cleaner with chemicals in it. Toxic mold can also create problems.
Avatar_n_tn weak, continued to lose weight. Had brief exposure to ammonia cleaning detergent spill on 04/ air into house..but still felt ill...slowly started feeling better(was afraid more damage to lungs?). Then 04/25 felt dizzy, lightheaded(after a weekend of rain where it made lungs feel "heavy" and "burning" both sides) Had not used Proventil, but used it 3 times between 04/25 & 04/26).
Avatar_f_tn Everyone I know who uses cloth diapers (my mom, cousin, several friends) swear tide original works best. I bought some used and they smell SO bad, like ammonia-- a hot water rinse and baking soda worked wonders! I didn't even have detergent-- though I think I'll use Tide Original for soiled diapers in the future. my favorite place that clarifies certain terms and general questions is ObbsandLala YouTube channel. She explains everything SO well!
535822_tn?1443980380 He talks about using lemon scented dish detergent and lemon scented ammonia. I don't remember the proportions to add to the sprayer and mixed with water in the sprayer. Then just spray this stuff in your yard and garden about an hour or so before you plan on having your evening outdoor activity and it will keep the mosquitos out of the radius where you sprayed that stuff. They don't like citrus, plus the dish detergent gives bugs diarrhea. They're too busy with that to bother your plants.
2203249_tn?1338994046 It is recommended that we avoid harsh fragrances while on Treatment, because they tend to cause rashes and make them worse, so we use frangrance free laundry detergent, lotion, and deodorant. Even the most gentle hair-dyes tend to have a strong fragrance. What I did was I picked a tone a little lighter than my natural tone, and dyed my hair 2 weeks into the treatment. This way, I could blend the silver temples, and no hair dye for the remainder of my Treatment!
1057060_tn?1266516726 so me and my partner had sex (kinda rough) and after i washed up and peed i put on my underwear. and about 2 minutes later i noticed a pretty big wet spot on them so i changed them. there was little more on the next pair but not as much. i was afraid it might be amniotic fluid so i smelled it (sorry if tmi) and there really was no smell. i had to really smell it to try to detect anything...
Avatar_m_tn Sometimes when I go to wash clothes and I'm pouring the powder laundry detergent and I smell the powder, its almost as if you would put some of that in your mouth and it tastes like that all the time though. Thats the best description I can give of the taste. Since this has started about 3 months or less ago, I've also lost about 18 lbs unintentionally. My appetite is not good at all, just no desire to eat. I dont exercise or do anything so that cant be the cause.
Avatar_f_tn My bf and I have been working hard to get my apartment in order to make room for our little one. We've already accumulated TONS of clothes and sheets and blankets for her, thanks to her grandparents! Anyhow, I really want to wash all of her belongings and put them in order (by size)in her dresser. Since I live in an apartment building with over 1000 units, obviously I dont have my own washer/dryer.
Avatar_f_tn Steam cleaning works well to, wash all toys and bedding with detergent and ammonia. Ponzuril works great. I have been using it for years and never had a problem with it. Treat 3 days in a row and retreat on day 13 for 1-3 days. Sanitation is very important or the cat or kitten will get it again. Show your vet
Avatar_n_tn I might be overreacting and paranoid but it hurts too much it seems to just be a simple allergy thing and I'm also on 1500 mg of Metformin for my PCOS. I had a slight temperature yesterday and a little upset stomach. Today I just feel that constantly my throat is constriced and my sternum hurts along with the area around my sternum. My questions are is this a normal reaction to mold exposure? Should I seek professional help?
535822_tn?1443980380 Far less harmful to the environment than the commercial bug sprays! Oh, and the lemon scented detergent? I remember something about that and lemon scented ammonia (or something on that order anyway) being used as a whole yard mosquito repellent, so you can enjoy your summer evenings in your own yard without being eaten alive by those varmints. By the way, how Jerry Baker learned this stuff is amazing: He used to be an undercover FBI agent and a home gardener was his cover.
Avatar_m_tn I don't know what happens if lye and bleach meet but I do know that ammonia and bleach can kill you, I forget what they make when they meet but it is a very toxic gas/vapor.
529981_tn?1212853666 Also I have tried, salycylic shampoos, tar shampoos, jojoba oil, AND nothing seems to help. Please help me and my hair. I am a busy college student, who unfortunately does not have the time and money to deal with this.
266539_tn?1281405752 As far as used clothes, hot water, detergent and ammonia will kill pretty much anything that MAY be on the clothes and make them clean, fresh and safe. Another good rule of thumb for buying "equipment". If the individual you are buying from has kept the directions and warranty information it's more likely that they have taken care of the item. In my experience, those who just toss that information don't care enough to properly care for items.
250084_tn?1303311035 Well, it's Saturday and once again, I learned if you 'play' at all on tx, you pay big, lol! I have felt pretty decent this past week (compared to!) and 'played' a lot....did work, went 'out' in the world, out to eat, did a lot of 'chores' and than STUPIDLY....went out on the bike last night! Left at 9:00, was 47 degree's in Fl., (windchill on a bike @ 30?) and rode 2 hours! Had all the warm attire on , still froze tho! Stopped at a local hang out (had my bottled water!
Avatar_f_tn For me it is perfumes, shampoo, bathing soaps, laundry detergent, just about everything under the sun. I have been able to find unscented bathing soap, laundry detergent, and body lotion which helps with that aspect of the problem but I work in a hospital. I am surrounded by disinfectants and other strong odors all they long. I spend most of my days sick because it also aggravates my migraines and my sinusitis.
Avatar_m_tn Three days later, I sprinkled Borax (Twenty Mule Team) laundry detergent on the carpet and left it there with the flea powder. Last night I did not feel any bugs crawling on me all night. Today, was the first time in months that I didn't feel like I was being eaten alive while sitting at my computer, The true test will be if I am able to sleep on the same sheets for at least a few days without having to wash them. Yesterday, I went to birdmites.
Avatar_n_tn The explaination of mineral def makes sense - I'm surprised I did not figure that out myself - since I read up on homepathic/herbs/def and advise others and not focus on healing myself - I will give the minerals a try and advise in a month.
Avatar_f_tn - tried lotioning my legs after, and before after showering with both Aveeno and St. Ives Intensive Healing - tried using baby oil after, and before & after - tried using tea tree oil and various other organic itch-calming treatments None of these have worked Once the itch starts, there is very little that will end it.
Avatar_n_tn i have this discharge everyday, the same fishy horrible odor, and sometimes it smells like ammonia if youput your panties to your nose and smell. i've been to the doctor everything is fine pap smear hiv test no yeast infection she give me medicine that may take the smell away for about a week but then it;s right back agein but the medicine is suppose to make it go away she says.
Avatar_m_tn One thing I think a lot of you are missing that's important. YOU are the host, @LGAMMA1 mentioned how they are so small you need a good microscope to see them. Now, if that's true, are they not small enough to enter your pours? How small must their eggs be? The eggs, the parasite, it's using your body as it's host. 90% of them in your environment are "hatched" from your body. When you move several times and get rid of everything this quickly become obvious.
Avatar_n_tn Well you could have sweated and the scent could stil be in your bra. Make sure to put on a new (clean bra every morning) you know how some of us will reuse the same bra a couple of days later becuase if you wash them too much the elasctic gets shot. anyway.. another thing is to bring baby wipes and maybe a small bottle of febreeze to freshen up your bra in the middle of the day. I am sure you are a clean woman..
Avatar_m_tn then i called the hair salon to ask what they were, i got abused by the receptionist and told he was on holidays. i called back a week later, only to find out he had been fired - obviously for this problem~! there is little to no symptoms other than being able to feel them all the time. sometimes i get little pin ***** bites. i tried everything, one thing that DOES at least wash loose ones down my body is Kerosene.
Avatar_n_tn Sometimes at night when I go to bed, I go to lie down and where that feeling is, it will grab, and I have to move my left arm a different way until it relaxes. Sorry I couldn't help much more. Take care!!
