Avatar f tn And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's. I take Vyvanse and also duloxetine 1 time daily also, could those be helping my bp stay high?
Avatar m tn I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?
Avatar n tn I have a label on the bottle that I write down the day I take it with a check mark next to it because -- I can take the pill out of the bottle and forget if I took it. So now I write it down.
Avatar n tn I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?
Avatar f tn We know several people in their 70s who have experienced fainting and dizziness as a result of BP meds reducing it to 120/80 and lower, including two people (my husband being one) who recently suffered worrying blackouts and ended up in hospital. In both cases their meds were stopped and my husband’s BP has now reverted to his original readings of around 154/80. (He was on Amlodipine, Lisinopril and Bendroflumethiazide and his BP before passing out was 97/60).
2191752 tn?1338280689 I believe you are not that predisposed to have cough when you take amlodipine because unlike losartan, it does not predisposed you to have infections that causes cough. Nevertheless, before switching medications you have to consult with your physician first.
Avatar m tn I take high blood prssure maedicines. Due to this my ankles and feet swell. Now red patches have appeared on my ankles onskin and they are moving upwardson feet. Can anybody suggest remedy??
Avatar m tn Some references said that cilnidipine 10 mg is equivalent to amlodipine 5 mg tablet. Is there any article/journal regarding this dose??
Avatar f tn Don't listen to render. He is just trying to scare you. It's a huge jump from having a headache to having cancer and everyone's symptoms are different anyway. Has your DH seen a doctor about it? Maybe the headache is due to anxiety. It could also be excitement. Stress from work can cause the tension and the release from ejaculation may be causing the headaches. Could it maybe be subconscious?
Avatar m tn Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.
Avatar n tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker indicated for hypertension. The S form of amlodipine is said to be responsible for dilation of blood vessels and lowering of blood pressure. The S- isomer of amlodipine or Asomex® is being studied in clinical trials and may lead to side effects such as fatigue or tiredness, dizziness or fainting, headache, flushing, or swelling of the legs or ankles. Side effects of amlodipine are generally mild and reversible.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately I have no knowledge about the medicine you are talking about but there are a lot of forums on Medhelp to include anxiety as well some that may pertain to the reason you have to take the norvasc. Good luck and check back here perhaps someone has experience with this.
Avatar n tn My pulse gets down to 44-48 but I do not feel faint. Should my Amlodipine be increased and my Metoprolol reduced since beta blockers reduce pulse rate?
Avatar m tn I'll be interested in input on this question. I've taken Amlodipine for many years and always had a similar heart rate (fast but not out of control). Last April a cardiologist added a beta blocker to help control an intermittent irregular rhythm. It's worked for the arrhythemia but of course has also dropped my heart rate and blood pressure. I don't like to be on any more meds than really necessary.
Avatar m tn Hi there. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker and Propranolol is a beta blocker. Often medics are cautious when a Beta blocker is being stopped(Especially on higher doses). But in this case you have just changed to a different beta blocker (Atenolol) There should be no -problem. I have been around the block with lots of different bp meds. The one certainty is that they ALL have side effects. Some worse than others.
Business man2 I recommend you call your physician to see if he or she wants to refer you to a gastroenterologist for consideration of an upper endoscopy. Very Respectfully, Dr.
Avatar m tn Hi Same With Me I Am To See My Doctor Next Week,I'm Not Very Happy With The Situation!
Avatar m tn I was on amlodipine for essential HT. Due to pedal edema changed over to Cilnidipine 20 mg . Now BP not getting controlled and followed with too much Ectopic beats.
Avatar f tn The fact that his symptoms decreased when not taking his meds should be a big clue to him. Obviously, one or both are contributing to this problem. So he won’t discuss it with his physician due to “embarrassment”? Is he suicidal? These are extreme symptoms of something amiss and should be dealt with IMMEDIATELY. It sounds like your husband has bought into some macho myth that men aren’t supposed to have any sexual issues and that talking about them somehow indicates weakness.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take Amlodipine Besylate 10 mg with the testosterone booster EvlTest?
Avatar f tn Hi I've had a positive ANA ranging between 1:80 and 1:160. I have also been testing positive for U1-RNP range considered positive is 81 or higher I was reading at 114. Now all of the sudden my U1-RNP is considered normal at 60? I have not been on any medication this far except vitamin D 50,000 and amlodipine 10mgs 1 per day. I've been having severe muscle weakness. My dr. sent me to a vascular dr. To have a muscle biopsy done.
