amlodipine side effects symptoms

Had a large tumor and total thyroidectomy removed 3 weeks ago. The past few days having dull but strong headaches that go into my ear, down my jaw into my neck. I'm taking 100 mcg of Levothyroxine a day and 2 Calcitrol a day. My calcium was very low after surgery.

My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s). I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.

I started having migraine in may 1995 since then i've been having attacks after attack, but the last i had was 7yrs ago i don't know why it stopped. But, in nov 2008 i discovered that my bp is going up 135/87 with my mother's home test kit, within 2 months i.e jan 2009 it went up to 150/100 i was very scare i went to see a doctor and i was tested and treated with the following: asomex 5mg (2wks dose), cardioace, eve fishoil and cognitol.

I doubt this combination would be approved if it was dangerous. But all drugs may have side effects, and if you get bothersome side effects, you should report them to your doctor. Good luck.

How long have you been on Losartan? 100 mg is a large dosage and it, too, can cause dizziness and tiredness... I was on only 25 mg for some time and I had some of those symptoms, plus weight gain/inability to lose, symptoms of a cold, etc... I no longer take it and no longer have those symptoms. It can also react with some of the other medications...

I was prescrbed metoprolol 50mg and amlodipine 5mg. I have been taking this medine for a year. I have been regularly checking my BP ever since. It comes to 130/75mm/hg within a month. But Still I am taking the same dosage. My worry is : Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.

Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?

s on Lisinopril 40mg, Glupozide 5 mg, Bisoprolol 5mg, and amlodipine 5 mg. I was wondering if anyone taking amlodipine might have these symptoms. I am thinking this might be a side effect from one of the meds. ??

I started out with Dyazide - a Diuretic - for many years until my kidneys gave up. Then I was put on Metoprolol Succinate - a Betablocker - but I never had Arrhythmia, although some PVC's, and the side effects were too much for me. Next thing Amlodipine - Calcium channel blocker, again, couldn't take the side effects. Now it is Lisinopril/Hctz - ACE inhibitor with some Diuretic - for a about three years now.

I have been taking Enalapril 5mg for the last two weeks for high blood pressure, i have started getting a sensation that my heart is missing beats and get the occassional twinge of pain in the chest , i also have been getting alot of stomach pain, could this be the side effects of the Enalapril Maleate tablets?

I have taken as much as 200 mg of Metoprolol to slow down a fast HR... but it gave me too many side effects. I now take 50 mg of Metoprolol and have added a Calcium Channel Blocker to help lower my HR. The brown discoloration is caused by the swelling. I looked it up and swelling of the ankle area was the most prevalent side effect for amlodipine. Thirteen percent of users experienced swelling. Hi, the commonest side effect with amlodipine is peripheral edema. If troublesome, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Regards.

You can either read the insert that your med bottle comes with, ask your pharmacist or look each med up online for their side effects. If the tremors get too bad their are meds to take to help them should you choose to stay on that med.

t make much sense unless you are having side effects. A risk of a larger dose vs. smaller dose may be the reason...less toxicity in the system.
