amlodipine side effects rash

Had a large tumor and total thyroidectomy removed 3 weeks ago. The past few days having dull but strong headaches that go into my ear, down my jaw into my neck. I'm taking 100 mcg of Levothyroxine a day and 2 Calcitrol a day. My calcium was very low after surgery.

I doubt this combination would be approved if it was dangerous. But all drugs may have side effects, and if you get bothersome side effects, you should report them to your doctor. Good luck.

My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s). I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.

I was prescrbed metoprolol 50mg and amlodipine 5mg. I have been taking this medine for a year. I have been regularly checking my BP ever since. It comes to 130/75mm/hg within a month. But Still I am taking the same dosage. My worry is : Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.

Do the new drugs come with their own side effects besides the ones that soc come with? Not sure if I asked that right, I'm still waiting for everything to come together but if the new meds come with even worse side effects than one might already get maybe that's another reason to treat now.

Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?

sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.

oh yes these are some of the wounderful side effects of tx,do check with your dr.about your hives to make sure its not a reaction but my dr. put me on tiamcinolone cream for the rash,it does tin to help.

Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Is there a cleaner medication with better results and less side effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am desperate....

s office and asked about these symptoms, the nurse stated the doctor said these were not normal side effects. How do I get my Oncologist to see that I am having these problems and to treat them?

I have taken as much as 200 mg of Metoprolol to slow down a fast HR... but it gave me too many side effects. I now take 50 mg of Metoprolol and have added a Calcium Channel Blocker to help lower my HR. So, my treatment reason is different than yours, but I share for whatever value you may find in my "story".

How long have you been on Losartan? 100 mg is a large dosage and it, too, can cause dizziness and tiredness... I was on only 25 mg for some time and I had some of those symptoms, plus weight gain/inability to lose, symptoms of a cold, etc... I no longer take it and no longer have those symptoms. I am starting to feel better, but I am having side effects. I have been on the lithium for a year so I am not worried about it, but I feel jittery, am shaky, and my heart rate is staying at 100 BPM. If he is experiencing an increase in heart palpitations while taking Florinef, I would recommend asking his doctor to check his Potassium level. Florinef can deplete the body of Potassium, which can cause all sorts of unusual side effects. Not to mention the fact that patients with Dysautonomia are notorious for being particularly intolerant to any electrolyte imbalance. The reaction you describe does sound a bit more like an allergic reaction though.
