Had a large tumor and total thyroidectomy removed 3 weeks ago. The past few days having dull but strong headaches that go into my ear, down my jaw into my neck. I'm taking 100 mcg of Levothyroxine a day and 2 Calcitrol a day. My calcium was very low after surgery.
yes they ALL have side effects on us and cats as well....the safest with the least side effects for pain are the following(for cats). please never use NSAID's.

My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s).
I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.
I was prescrbed metoprolol 50mg and amlodipine 5mg. I have been taking this medine for a year. I have been regularly checking my BP ever since. It comes to 130/75mm/hg within a month. But Still I am taking the same dosage.
My worry is : Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.

The S- isomer of amlodipine or Asomex® is being studied in clinical trials and may lead to side effects such as fatigue or tiredness, dizziness or fainting, headache, flushing, or swelling of the legs or ankles. Side effects of amlodipine are generally mild and reversible. If the foot tingling and muscle twitching persists, it is best that you have this evaluated further by a neuroloigst to rule out possible neurological causes.
I have taken as much as 200 mg of Metoprolol to slow down a fast HR... but it gave me too many side effects. I now take 50 mg of Metoprolol and have added a Calcium Channel Blocker to help lower my HR. So, my treatment reason is different than yours, but I share for whatever value you may find in my "story".
Since then I’ve read some very concerning info about the side effects on men as well as too many amlodipine toxicity. If my son were writing this I’m sure he would say that he would very much like everything to function properly as a young man of 27.

I started out with Dyazide - a Diuretic - for many years until my kidneys gave up. Then I was put on Metoprolol Succinate - a Betablocker - but I never had Arrhythmia, although some PVC's, and the side effects were too much for me. Next thing Amlodipine - Calcium channel blocker, again, couldn't take the side effects. Now it is Lisinopril/Hctz - ACE inhibitor with some Diuretic - for a about three years now.
He had dental surgery done and they gave him Convenia without explaining the risks and or side effects to me, nor giving me an alternative for him. Anyways, he is now having small episodes of his head twitching / shaking. I called my vet doctor, they said to keep an eye on him and to bring him in after 5 days, if he's still having these symptoms. But I am concerned now! He was perfectly healthy before his dental surgery.
