Usually my heart rate is around 110 while laying down and will rise to190 while walking around. Things have gotten really bad. I’ve been out of school for almost 4 weeks now. Avatar m tn I have a question about high blood pressure medication. I found out two years ago that I have high blood pressure. I also suffer with ocd. I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse. Does anyone here have anxiety problems along with HBP and the medications have made them worse?
Avatar f tn re having some trouble with your blood pressure. I agree with your physician that 156/66 is too high. Your blood pressure should be below 130/80, with lower being even better if tolerated. Many things contribute to high blood pressure including age, genetics, weight, diet, exercise. It sounds like you're on the right track with your exercise. Aggressive diet and exercise can often get patients off of their medications altogether, especially if couple with weight loss.

Avatar n tn Tea does not trigger a blood pressure spike, for most people. Tea has compounds in it that counteract what caffeine does to blood pressure, so the net effect is a wash. If you like tea, and you have high blood pressure, you're probably better off drinking tea than coffee.
Avatar m tn Combining these medications may significantly increase the blood levels and effects of silodosin. This may cause blood pressure to fall excessively and heart rate to increase, especially when you rise from a sitting or lying position. The risk of other side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, headache, flushing, nasal congestion, heart palpitations, and priapism (prolonged and painful erection unrelated to sexual activity) may also increase.

Each time you measure, take two or three readings to make sure your results are accurate. Your doctor might recommend taking your blood pressure at the same times each day." The American Heart Association concurs.
Avatar n tn My wife is taking high blood pressure medication, Amlodipine BESYLATE, and wants to get back to using St Johns Wort, which helped her depression tremendously. Is there ANY high blood pressure medication that'll work? Thank you for your time and help.
Avatar m tn So I was put on amlodipine 10mg and Propranolol 40mg on 1st July 2016. This helped lower my blood pressure to around 115/68. Only problem is that it makes me feel quite tired after little activity like walking. After complaining about this tiredness to the doctor yesterday, he changed my drugs to 100mg Losartan (1 tablet per day) and 25mg Atenolol (2 tablets per day).
Avatar m tn My ankles swelled from time to time and got brown patches that did not itch. Luckily the doctor I went to recognized the blood pressure medicine I was on (Amlodipine) is known for swelling ankles. The brown discoloration is caused by the swelling. I looked it up and swelling of the ankle area was the most prevalent side effect for amlodipine. Thirteen percent of users experienced swelling. I got off amlodipine 2 months ago and have not had an episode of swelling since.

Avatar n tn I have an intra-renal aneurism on my aorta (3.5 cm, they said) ... My blood pressure is well-controlled with Amlodipine and Lisinopril but I'm wondering to what extent sex increases blood pressure.
