amlodipine med

Hi. I have had high blood pressure for years. Like really high -- 190+over 90 very often. So I'm working on taking medication but I have a question about amlodipine. I start with Lisinopril 40mg, but my doctor added amlodipine. It helps but my ankles and legs swell up really bad. Thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. thanks.

I have been working hard on my health and diet and just got clearance last week to stop taking the last of my meds. I took Lisinopril, Amlodipine, and Metoprolol. I was weaned off them all. I am now med free. Yay! Curious if anyone truly saw weight loss after stopping beta blockers.

So I was put on amlodipine 10mg and Propranolol 40mg on 1st July 2016. This helped lower my blood pressure to around 115/68. Only problem is that it makes me feel quite tired after little activity like walking. After complaining about this tiredness to the doctor yesterday, he changed my drugs to 100mg Losartan (1 tablet per day) and 25mg Atenolol (2 tablets per day).

My long time meds are for blood pressure... Amlodipine 5mg and lisinopril/HCTZ 20/25mg. Oh and lamotrigine 50 mg for the last two weeks. I quit heavy drinking a about 8 days ago reneeding hospitalization fot 4 days due to extreme withdrawal. Anyway as of today I'm noticing definite noticeable hand tremors. I'm wondering if it's from my combination of meds?

I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?

I was on Losartan 50mg which was working fairly well then the nephrologist suggested I switch to Amlodipine 2.5 mg. which he says is better for creatinine levels. I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?

I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.

Hi, my mother has just started taking amlodipine for high blood pressure (her reading is very high at 210/120) She took the first one around 24 hours ago but has developed a SEVERE headache and cannot tolerate bright lights(so may be a migraine) Should she stop taking the tablets or is this a common side effect of the drug? Will it go away on its own if she carries on taking the tablets? She also feels weak and a little nausea.

I also have no idea why calcium channel blockers have been prescribed (amlodipine) ? This is a particularly nasty med with lots of dizziness and nausea side effects. Has your cardio tried Ramipril, used for high blood pressure? It's an ace inhibitor and works great. I take 2.5mg morning and night and my blood pressure is fine. If I stop taking them, my blood pressure rises to 140./100. It now hovers around 120/70.

Ive got a big concern, greatly appreciated for any review or comment..my question is my pulse dropped to 46 last night resting pulse and was low 50's all night long should I be worried? I'm 22 male I play basketball on Tuesdays and go to the gym and walk jog tread meal 3o mins a day and 10 mins on the bike at the gym and lift lightly occasionally as well...and I really have no bad symptoms other than freakibg out a lil cause it feels like its beating too slow?? s on Lisinopril 40mg, Glupozide 5 mg, Bisoprolol 5mg, and amlodipine 5 mg. I was wondering if anyone taking amlodipine might have these symptoms. I am thinking this might be a side effect from one of the meds. ??

Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?

They started me on losartan 50 mg and amlodipine 5mg. And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's.

I have recently been prescribed Amlodipine-Benaz 5/10 MG capsules for treatment of hypertension. However, my resting pulse rate has consistently been in the 90's and increasing into the 100's at time, so I have been prescribed Carvedilol to help control the heart rate. My question is, doesn't Carvedilol control hypertension as well...Why should I be taking carvedilol in addition to amliodipine?

Some references said that cilnidipine 10 mg is equivalent to amlodipine 5 mg tablet. Is there any article/journal regarding this dose??

Hi I've had a positive ANA ranging between 1:80 and 1:160. I have also been testing positive for U1-RNP range considered positive is 81 or higher I was reading at 114. Now all of the sudden my U1-RNP is considered normal at 60? I have not been on any medication this far except vitamin D 50,000 and amlodipine 10mgs 1 per day. I've been having severe muscle weakness. My dr. sent me to a vascular dr. To have a muscle biopsy done.

I was on amlodipine for essential HT. Due to pedal edema changed over to Cilnidipine 20 mg . Now BP not getting controlled and followed with too much Ectopic beats.
