old and since last summer I have been waking up in the morning with joint pain. My elbow joints, hip, and knee joints are all painful. And I have this tired weak feeling so it takes me awhile to get out of bed. The meds I am taking are : Nexium 40mg. twice a day, Amlodipine Bensylate 5mg. once a day, Trilipix 135mg. once a day and Ibuprofen 600mg. when needed. Pravastatin Sodium 40mg. once a day and Alprazolam 1mg. twice a day.
I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?

I am a woman of 49 who had a small stroke about a year ago, Ever since my pain in my left knee has gotten worse, I have been to a reumatologist and my own primary care physician. I am on "Lisinopril" and "Amlodipine" for blood pressure/cholestrol and on 50 mg. Tramadol for the pain in my knees. I was told I would need total knee replacement at some point. My pharmacy and doctor has let me down with getting me the Tramadol, right now I am waiting a week to get my prescription.

Hi I've had a positive ANA ranging between 1:80 and 1:160. I have also been testing positive for U1-RNP range considered positive is 81 or higher I was reading at 114. Now all of the sudden my U1-RNP is considered normal at 60? I have not been on any medication this far except vitamin D 50,000 and amlodipine 10mgs 1 per day. I've been having severe muscle weakness. I was on Losartan 50mg which was working fairly well then the nephrologist suggested I switch to Amlodipine 2.5 mg. which he says is better for creatinine levels. I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.
My chest pain has gotten worse and I am profoundly short of breath since increasing the Amlodipine from 5mg to 10mg. My Cardiologist is very disinterested in pursuing this. He has not come out and called me a liar, but treats me like I am making things up.
Is it safe for me just to live this way? Can I go about my life as best I can consuming nitro like tic-tacs? If it is small vessel disease is it just a chronic, incurable condition that I need to accept? Can I exercise safely?

I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse. Does anyone here have anxiety problems along with HBP and the medications have made them worse? Doctors don't believe me but I know my own mind and how different it is since I went on these medications.
It involves waking up in the middle of the night with a pain in the left leg. The pain is mostly in the calf muscles. It some times spreads to the entire leg. The intensity of the pain is severe (7 out of 10). The pain comes in waves each lasting 1-2 minutes and the total episode ends in 5-6 minutes. Stretching the leg in various directions does not help. The muscles feel very tight.

i am 54 yr old lady ,i have hypertention from many years for which taking medicine amlodipine basilate IP 50mg but from few weeks there was flactuation in my blood pressure sometimes it went on lower side and sometimes normal then i consulted my physician he reduced the dose to 25mg and ask me to eat things when you feel low,i did the same but 6-7 days back i measured my BP at home, it was on lower side and i to was feeling very dull and low so i had something to eat still had no relief and slow
I also take aspirin, tylenol, and wear a Flector pain patch when it gets unbearable. I alternate with the pain meds dont take them the same days. The doctor put me on Tramadol for pain and made an appt. with my regular MD April 5th. I am scared because heart disease runs in my family, hypertension and stroke, some diabetes. I feel it would be wise for me to see my orthopaedist about my leg and see a specialist about my BP, cardiologist maybe.
Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?
