Avatar f tn They started me on losartan 50 mg and amlodipine 5mg. And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's.
Avatar n tn Tea does not trigger a blood pressure spike, for most people. Tea has compounds in it that counteract what caffeine does to blood pressure, so the net effect is a wash. If you like tea, and you have high blood pressure, you're probably better off drinking tea than coffee.

20003202 tn?1488258062 (stopped working), now just Amlodipine 10 mg. Since taking the Amlodipine 10 mg. for about a week, my blood pressure keeps going higher and higher. Today readings were between 160/90 - 165/125. Also, my lower legs are sore, I have dizziness and feel light-headed, and are extremely lethargic. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Is there a cleaner medication with better results and less side effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am desperate....
Avatar m tn I have a question about high blood pressure medication. I found out two years ago that I have high blood pressure. I also suffer with ocd. I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse. Does anyone here have anxiety problems along with HBP and the medications have made them worse?

Avatar m tn I'm an 87-year-old male. I've been taking Amlodipine 2.5 mg for two weeks and now get bad headaches in the mornings an hour after breakfast at about 9:30 am. I have to take Tylenol to function.
Avatar f tn re having some trouble with your blood pressure. I agree with your physician that 156/66 is too high. Your blood pressure should be below 130/80, with lower being even better if tolerated. Many things contribute to high blood pressure including age, genetics, weight, diet, exercise. It sounds like you're on the right track with your exercise. Aggressive diet and exercise can often get patients off of their medications altogether, especially if couple with weight loss.
Avatar m tn About me: I'm 32 years old, male and have had mild Vertigo symptoms for 9 months now. The symptoms of feeling like I just got off a boat are constant and happen 80% of the day, all day every day. I have never fallen over from it but it does greatly affect my quality of life. About my medical past: Had Bells Palsy in April 2014 on my left side of my face (MRI, CT, Xrays done to make sure it wasn't a stroke), cleared up by June/July 2014. Vertigo like symptoms started in August 2014..

Avatar m tn org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-pressure/in-depth/high-blood-pressure/art-20047889 This is a quote regarding how often and times of day: " The first measurement should be in the morning before eating or taking any medications, and the second in the evening. Each time you measure, take two or three readings to make sure your results are accurate. Your doctor might recommend taking your blood pressure at the same times each day." The American Heart Association concurs.
Avatar f tn //www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-pressure/in-depth/high-blood-pressure-medication/art-20046280 He is currently prescribed a beta blocker, correct? https://www.medicinenet.com/beta-blockers_vs_calcium_channel_blockers/article.htm#what_are_the_different_types_of_beta_blockers_and_calcium_channel_blockers I think all of these drugs have side effects and the risk to benefit ration has to be applied. Will it go away on its own if she carries on taking the tablets? She also feels weak and a little nausea.

Avatar m tn So I was put on amlodipine 10mg and Propranolol 40mg on 1st July 2016. This helped lower my blood pressure to around 115/68. Only problem is that it makes me feel quite tired after little activity like walking. After complaining about this tiredness to the doctor yesterday, he changed my drugs to 100mg Losartan (1 tablet per day) and 25mg Atenolol (2 tablets per day).
1355431 tn?1369975306 He is on Lisinopril 10mg , Atenolol 50mg, Hydrochlorothiazide 25mg and Amlodipine 10 mg. Even with all theese meds his blood pressure is still way to high!
